Four Falling Stars

Sun streamed through the window, right onto the unicorn Dawn Star. The lilac unicorn rubbed her orange eyes and rolled over.

"What time is it?" she mumbled to herself. She looked at the clock in the room. eight o'clock. Her droopy eyes shot open "Eight o'clock? I overslept! The princess said she needed to see me!"

She jumped out of bed and had rapidly started getting ready. "I'M LATE!"she yelped.

Megabyte then ran to the main hall to meet Princess Celestia.

Trumpets sounded as the Alicorn princess walked to meet Dawn.

"Sorry I'm late, Princess. I overslept. What was the surprise you were telling me about?" "Oh, it's fine. I wanted you to meet certain pony." the princess said. "She was my best student, and she is going to be part of your final test." Suddenly, a violet alicorn walked in. "Hello, Princess Celestia. What did you need me for?"

The princess smiled. "Twilight. I would like to introduce you to Dawn Star, one of my other students I worked with while you were sent to Ponyville." "Hi." Dawn said timidly. "You two are going to work together on a mission. I'll explain after you have breakfast." The princess left.

Twilight looked at Dawn. "Well, I guess we better hurry!" she said. And they trotted to eat breakfast at one of the many cafés in Canterlot.

They arrived at Café Le Derp. As they sat down to a table a waiter came. "What would you like to order? Dawn and Twi looked at the menu. THE ONLY THING WAS MUFFINS.

After they ordered, Twilight made a desperate move to start a conversation. "So... Dawn, what are your interests?"

Dawn looked down at her cutie mark. "I like astronomy, and video games." She avoided eye contact while she talked. "I got my cutie mark by manipulating stars." Her horn glowed brightly. A star shot out of the sky and into her hoof. She blew on the star, scattering sparkling dust everywhere. "Umm.. okay." They finished their muffins and left the cafe.

They walked inside the castle. Twilight thought about Dawn and if they would get along as they went into the castle. Princess Celestia was there

"Come you two, it is time to explain. Come with me." said Celestia. She lead the two unicorns to the Royal Library, where a large book was on the table. When she saw it, Dawn gasped. Her heart skipped a beat.

"Advanced Time-Travel by Star Swirl the Bearded." she read with awe. "Time Travel?" choked Twilight.

"Yes." the princess said. "I am going to have you two travel to the past, 1000 years ago." "The times of King Sombra, Nightmare Moon, the founding of Equestria, and..." Dawn said

"Star Swirl the Bearded himself!" finished Twilight. "Yes. It will be very dangerous, but I am sure you can handle it." said Celestia. "I want you to uncover secrets in the past that I could not when I lived in that age. And there have been legends about a strange artifact guarded by an evil unicorn. It is unknown who that unicorn is, but they could be very dangerous."

She turned to them. "Are you up for the task?"

"Of course!"

"Yes!"

Celestia smiled. "I am glad you are sure of yourselves. Oh, and because it is extremely advanced, do the spell together."

"Got it." Twilight said.

"Good. Be careful on your journey, Twilight and Dawn. Goodbye."

'Goodbye!" they chimed. Their horns each glowed, one a deep fuchsia and the other a silvery ice blue. Beams of light shot out and interwined each other. They vanished.
