Four Falling Stars

They landed in a hilly area. "My head hurts" moaned Dawn. They struggled to stand. When they got up, they noticed a cave.

"Let's go in." said Dawn

"Let's not." said Twilight quickly.

"Come on Princess. You scared? Where would Harry Hoofdini be if he didn't take risks." urged Dawn

"Oh, I don't know, how about ALIVE?!" yelled Twilight. Dawn ignored her and continued into the cave. Twilight sighed.

She was beginning to have second thoughts about the tomboyish unicorn. With her heart in her throat, she followed Dawn.

They went into the cave. Dawn thought she had heard a noise. She shook her head and went deeper. Suddenly a voice yelled. "Intruders!" Two angry azure and purple eyes appeared, glaring at them. "W-we're not intruders! We're lost!" exclaimed Dawn. The eyes stopped glaring. "Oh, thou is not a spy? Come in then. It is foolish of us to think that thou is. One of our noble kind is accompanying her." A hoof came out of the darkness and pointed to Twilight.

The duo gasped as she emerged into view. A white alicorn with a golden, flowing mane and a cutie mark of two wings and a horn walked in. "Let me introduce myself. I am Empress Starlight, leader of the alicorn tribe." "Dawn Star." said Dawn. "I'm Twilight. I thought there were three tribes." said a puzzled Twilight. "Ah, most mortals think that. But our tribe stays well hidden. My cousin, Celestia, was born into this tribe. Unfortunately, she left, not thinking that we need to stay hidden." She hung her head. "The mortals were impressed at her uniqueness for being a Pegasus and a Unicorn, and crowned her princess. She was a smart one." "Didn't she also have a sister? Princess Luna?" asked Twi.

Starlight's eyes shone. "Thou is a bright one. Yes, she did have a sister. She always treated her like nothing. Horrible, if you ask us." Twilight was about to open her mouth to yell, but she was silenced by Dawn. "Are there more alicorns?" she asked. "Oh, yes. Sadly, only four. Girls!" she called.

Four alicorn fillies zoomed by her side. One was a pale mint green with a brown and pink mane. She was introduced as Lily Bloom.

Her cutie mark was a diamond and a lily. The others where a lavender, blue, and white one named Wind Slash, a fire-coloured one named Flare, and a strange alicorn with fins called Splash. "You two can spend the night he-" She was interrupted at the sound of loud buzzing. A swarm of changelings flew into the room and started attacking the empress. The changelings carried a unicorn stallion wearing a black cloak that covered his face who shrieked "Kill the goddess!"

The changelings angrily started attacking the empress. She was covered in golden blood, gasping violently.

"Leave and save yourselves." she whispered with her last breath. She dropped to the floor. The fillies cried in veangance.

They leviatated two daggers, one jet black metal, studded with pink diamonds, with a purple hilt. The other was bright silver, with a pale green hilt studded with sky blue diamonds. They threw it to them. "The Dusk and Dawn swords. The dusk goes to to thou alicorn and the dawn to thou unicorn." muttered Lily Bloom. "The swords belong to thee, now. Go! We'll fight the changelings!" The fillies turned to the changelings and started fighting. Heeding their words, Dawn and Twi galloped out of the cave.
