Alone no more.

Five hundred years before Luna's banishment...

My hooves had beaten the cold floor as I ran towards the throne room where the princesses and their parents asked for my presence. The doors where already open, so I entered the room immediately.

–Sorry I'm late, I was training at the lake... –I bowed in a signal of respect and shame to myself

–It's no problem, Eclipse –the always kind Queen Sun Blast nodded as she said that–. We have a mission to you, general of the night guard. The Crystal Empire, almost a hundred years ago dominated by a corrupt unicorn, is beginning to fade in the darkness –

–Even if we unite our powers, he will defeat us, and that will mean the fall of Equestria in the darkness, also –the cold voice of King Silver Moon, as a contrast to what happened the first time I talked to him, didn't make me shake, or even feel scared, it made me feel... proud, somehow–. But you, you have a magic more pure that the one of the Elements of Harmony, you where special since the day of you creation; we knew it, and now is your time to prove it –he gives me a breastplate, which had the Element of Magic in it.

–I will... control the most powerful Element? –I asked astonished, almost in shock.

–Yes, that’s what a pony which such a magical control like you deserve –Princess Luna said with a smile on her lips–. I will, also, change your rank in the Royal Night Guard: now, you are my right-hand guard.

Celestia shoved me with one hoof; I knew she always hated me, but I don't know why.

–Don't think the Element will solve everything, because it only will buff up the magic of his rightful owner, which is me, if you didn't know –her hoof smashed my new breastplate and then my neck. My magic grabbed her hoof and pulled it to the floor, where it belongs.

–You are not going alone: the captain of the diurnal guard will go with you, just in case that you need help –the Queen smiled to me, a smile that give me the hope I needed to fight that tyrant and get back the Empire.

–She will get to the Empire a hour or two later than you, so be prepared, if needed, to fight alone –Princess Luna warned me, I smiled at her and bowed my head in silence.

–Thanks for the advice, rulers of this kingdom. I will not fail, not you, nor the Crystal Ponies, nor Equestria or the Empire –they gave me a train ticket.

–Go to the train station, your train is already waiting for you. –they smiled again as I left.

Celestia sighted and, then, looked at her parents.

–She will fail, I know it –she said, looking in the three pair of eyes–. And with her fall, the Element of Magic will be destroyed, or even, corrupted. –

–Don't say a single thing about this, Celestia –Luna shoved her hoof into her sister's breastplate–. Maybe she was created by our mistake, but we must admit that she is more powerful than our four together. –

–She will destroy the King, Celestia. Can't you believe in her one single time? –Queen Sun Blast looked angry at her oldest daughter–. And you are grounded: you can't just shove up one of your most faithful subjects out of nothing, or only because she is the result of your mistake.

Celestia looked at the floor, more than angry, but it disappeared as the captain of the Royal Diurnal Guard walked in; a smile appeared on her lips...

I walked into the Empire, my black and dark purple mane flowing in the wind of this night and my big, white eyes glowed in the darkness. Two red eyes looked at me from the distance: the tyrant king...

He throw a red energy blast from his horn, lucky he missed. My horn brightened by my white energy, more pure than Celestia's one. A large white flamethrower hit his side, doing little damage.

–Who are you? –he asked me, looking into my eyes.

–My name's Eclipse, the first hybrid ever created –he noticed the cat-like pupils in my eyes and the strong claws an the end of my hooves–. I was sent to destroy you, monster.

–Ja! You could never destroy me, you stupid pony-cat creature –he let a strong laugh that echoed in the darkness–. You were sent as a sacrifice, don't you see? You don't have an armor or even a sword.

I looked the floor, tears filling my eyes. He was saying the truth, maybe... the princesses only wanted to get rid of me...

–I'm facing King Sombra, all alone... –I closed my eyes– Loneliness, the only thing that was by my side since the beginning. I am meant to be alone, before, now and forever...

A tear fell from my eyes, and like a death star it hit the floor. The buzz of fine and delicate wings made my eyes suddenly open, the high, slim mare with dark coat and green eyes and mane with I share mission, finally came to help me.

–Eclipse, open your eyes and lift your head! We must stand tall and strong to kill this monster one last time.

I looked at her and then, my enemy– I mean, OUR enemy...

–You will help me through this, Chrysalis? –I asked putting every energy I had on a single but powerful spell.

–I will not help you: I will face this with you, my friend. –she answered as her horn lighted up with her green energy.

–With me? –I was... astonished, as a simple way to say it.

–Yes, we will win this battle...

We charge into the King, our horns acting like the swords we never had.

–...Together. –
