An Angels Descent

Xialian yawned after stretching and hearing his wings pop when he flexed them. "Well that was a long day." He said while looking at his still sleeping brother. "I'll be back Roxas." Said Xialian before taking flight towards ponyville hoping to introduce himself to AppleJacks other friends while there.

He landed near a cottage, from AJs description of the pony that lived there. She was an extremely shy Pegasus who had a major fondness for animals, having his own dog that he loved very much, Xialian could relate a love for animals. When he knocked on the door however, he heard a light squeak. "J...just a minute." "No rush." When the door opened he saw a very timid looking yellow Pegasus with a long pink mane and tail. "H...how can I help you mister?" Xialian knelt down to her eye level before saying. "Hi, i'm Xialian. And you're FlutterShy right?" She opened the door more "Y...yes, how did you know?" He smiled. "AppleJack told me her friend FlutterShy lived in a cottage next to the forest." "Oh you know AppleJack?" "Yes, in fact i'm living in her barn for the time being. I was hoping that I could meet and be friends with all of her friends." "Oh... okay Mr. Xialian, I hope we can become good friends." She looked up at him, then gasped. "What is it FlutterShy...? FlutterShy hello?" He waved his hand in front of her face. FlutterShy gave him a stern look before asking in a low voice. "Where did that sap come from?" Xialian was shocked at how her voice sounded. "It's from some wolves that were trying to kill three fillies, why?" "How did it get on you're coat?" Xialian didn't know where this was leading. "Because that's what happens when you kill something." FlutterShy muttered something Xialian couldn't hear. "What did you say?" She looked at him with fire in her eyes. "I SAID YOU'RE A MONSTER." Xialian was taken aback by her words. "What?" "Only a monster kills without a reason." "But I had a reason to kill them so what's the problem!" "Did the ends justify the means?" "Yes they did." "So why did you kill them." "The fillies would've been killed if I didn't take action, and I would rather do without their blood on my hands. I have to much as it is." He said sadly. "Alot of people have died because of me, especially those I love." He looked back down to  FlutterShy. "You're right, i am a monster." After he said those final words he unfurled his wings, and took flight to nowhere in particular. FlutterShy watched him go. "What have I done?"

As he was flying Xialian thought about all those he has let down. He came across a waterfall, deciding now was as good a time as any, he took of his coat and undershirt. "Guess i'll just meditate for a few days to get my mind settled." He said before sitting under the waterfall. As the water ran down his back and around his neck he began humming. "Xialian?" Startled by the sudden noise, he looked up to see non other than FlutterShy. "What do you want?" Her ears flattened against her head. "I'm sorry, so so sorry." He sighed. "Don't be, you were right, I mean look at me." Xialian stood up to reveal one long scar along his chest down to his left side. FlutterShy just stared at the scar. "How did that happen?" "Well... my brother gave me this." He ran his hand across the scar. "But why would he do that?" "It's another mark of my failure as a brother. I let him get possessed by evil spirits. And I was forced to kill him, this is a testament to that failure." "How did it happen?" He sighed, "I let him go into a very dangerous place alone. As a result of me not helping him, he got possessed. And I had to end his life." Xialian walked to his coat and pulled the sword out from the sheath on the back, it had a red hue to it that pulsed every few seconds. "I'm a combination of both angel and demon. But the demon side is much more prominent than the angel." He raised his sword to his neck, and sliced it open. Blood spilled from the wound in his neck. Then, it stopped. "Heh can't even be hurt." He turned to the horrified looking Pegasus. "See? I'm a monster. I kill to make a living, in my world I'm a demon hunter." She looked on in horror at what he just did. After finding her voice again, she said to him. "I don't think you're a monster, I think the reason you k...killed those TimberWolves was very heroic." He scoffed. "Killing something is a choice, I could have let them live if I wanted to. But I didn't, you know why?" "Why?" He put his shirt and coat back on. "Because it's in my nature." He simply stated. "Demons are cruel beings, always killing and stealing the souls of their victims. But angels don't kill unless they absolutely have to, but the demon inside me is stronger than the angel." Re-sheathing his sword and taking out his gun. "But the angel is quite strong as well." holstering the gun and flexing his wings. "But the demon will always be stronger. And nothing can change that, not even my brother." About to fly away, he stopped, he sensed something dangerous coming closer to them. As he pulled out his sword and gun he said. "FlutterShy get behind me." She was confused. "But why-" "JUST DO IT." With a light squeak she got behind him. Xialian heard a thump, gripping his sword tighter he whispered. "Somethings coming, something big." FlutterShy peeked over his shoulder. "What is it?" He closed his eyes concentrating, then they snapped back open before they narrowed. "A dragon, a big dragon whose hungry. FlutterShy I want you to run." She just stared at him. "No I won't leave you here to fight a dragon." "THIS IS NOT A DISCUSSION NOW GO! I WON'T KILL IN FRONT OF SOMEONE LIKE YOU, you don't wanna see what i'm about to do so please, just go." "But-" "GO!" She was startled by how loud he got. "O...okay, but don't kill it, just show it how strong you are and it will back off." "Fine, now go!" After she flew off the dragon burst through the trees, and stared. "Bah another small one, I sensed something a little bigger, what a disappointing catch." The dragon said in a deep bellowing voice. "What a big surprise, I hope for you're sake you've got something inside that big body of yours." The dragon growled. "You puny pathetic thing, i'll step on you like an ant ahahaha." Xialian just smirked, and let the dragons claw hit him. The dragon started laughing manically. "That was to easy." "That's what you think." "Huh?" The dragons claw started to rise slowly, then one of his fingers were gone. "AHHH!" The dragon screamed in pain. "Xialian flew up and landed on the dragons snout and walked up to one of the dragons eyes, lifting his sword he said. "Do you know who I am? Basically, kind of a big deal, my name is Xialian. I'm a combination of both a demon and an angel. And you know what else?" The dragon just stared. "I have killed things much stronger than a dragon whose more than a little cranky. So basically." He hovered towards the dragons ear and whispered. "Run." The dragon obliged and started running away while clinging on his wounded hand. Xialian just scoffed, and with one swift swing, got the blood off of his sword then sheathed it on his back. After FlutterShy flew away and went back to her cottage she waited. Xialian took flight back towards FlutterShys house, keeping his word he didn't kill the dragon, he did however scare it to the point of tears. "Man dragons are wimps in this world." He said to himself, he spotted FlutterShys little cottage and landed in front of it then knocked. "W..who is it?" "Xialian." The door opened fully to show a scared looking FlutterShy. Xialian knelt down to her eye level. "Are you okay FlutterShy?" He asked with concern in his voice. "Y...yes I'm fine, thank you." "Please don't thank me for anything, the last person who thanked me died afterwards. It brings back too many memories of my past." "Oh... okay s...sorry" He just shook his head. "That's okay, I didn't kill him like I said. Just gave him a battle scar and watery eyes. The dragons in Equestria are wimps compared to the dragons back where I come from." She looked at his face then gasped. "You're bleeding!" "I am?" Asked Xialian, Reaching up to his forehead and feeling something wet. He looked at his hand and saw blood. "God dammit... just what I needed, head trauma." He scoffed before his sight became blurry. "Fuck... I think i'm gonna...gonna..." He collapsed onto FlutterShy who squeaked at the sudden weight on top of her. She scooted out from under him, noticing the blood starting to pool around Xialians head. "Oh no Xialian!" She shouted. The last thing he saw was his brother in his arms, bloodied and beaten. "Roxas...I'm sorry." "Don't be, you saved me, and I thank you." "Roxas..." He said in a weak voice, before the darkness took him.
