New Pony, New Love

Morning came and today was going to be the night that Twilight Sparkle would confess to Smarty Heart. But she had to prepare because she wanted to make herself look attractive to the crush she had on the unicorn. All night, she was reading the book on "Tips for Love" and ended up feeling tired when she finished it at 2:06am before passing out and dreaming about her and Smarty Heart finally together and holding hooves, kissing romantically at a sunset.

But when she woke up from the dream, she cried for a few minutes because the dream never actually happened, but she wished that it did. She walked into her kitchen and grabbed the Apple Crunch cereal in her pantry and got a bowl from her cupboard. She poured the cereal and milk into the bowl and started to munch away at the crunchy apple-tasting cereal. She just couldn't get Smarty Heart out of her mind. She would just imagine that Smarty Heart was eating breakfast with her and winking at her.

Twilight Sparkle softly sighed happily, and started winking at the wall when she thought that Smarty Heart was right in front of her. But all of a sudden, Spike walked into the room and saw that Twilight Sparkle was winking at the wall. "Twilight, what are you doing?" Spike asked, scaring the living daylights out of Twilight Sparkle. "Oh man! Do not disturb me while I have my breakfast! I have an important night tonight!" Twilight Sparkle said, brushing her mane in the process.

"Well sorry, but it is good that you got off the books for a while. But anyways, I've been hearing that you've been swooning over a boy. Is it the new pony in town? Don't worry, I won't tell!" Spike said. "Sorry Spike, but it's my secret. I can't tell." "Please!" Spike begged. "No." Twilight Sparkle said, crossing her hooves.

At that point, Spike did very big sad puppy eyes and whined. Twilight Sparkle said "Ugh. Fine I'll tell you. It is the new pony." "Oh you mean that pony Smarty Heart? I did think that you and him would be cute together." "Why thank you Spike.". Twilight Sparkle then got into her drawers and started to search for a dress to wear at the party. "Why are you getting your dress, Twilight? The party isn't even until tonight." Spike said while Twilight ravaged through the wardrobes, closets and drawers looking for a dress. But Twilight Sparkle didn't respond, she just grabbed her purple dress and set it onto the bed.

"Sorry Spike, but I don't have time to talk. I have to show off my dress and show it off this afternoon to try to impress Smarty Heart. And then, I head to the party where I try to have Smarty Heart." Twilight Sparkle said, taking a breath after explaining her plan to Spike. She put on her purple dress and went out of her home, leaving Spike there standing with a stack of books.

Twilight Sparkle clopped through Ponyville showing off her dress to everyone, whom was amazed. At this point, Rarity came up to Twilight Sparkle and said "Why Twilight, you have your dress out today. Is it for the party?" Twilight then said, looking at Rarity. "Oh it's for a pony that I like and have a crush on. Maybe this will impress him.". Rarity thought for a moment, then asked "Who is this pony you like? Is it the new pony, Smarty Heart?"

At that point, an annoyed Twilight Sparkle said "Yes, yes. It is." Then there was a bunch of happy screaming nearby in the central area. Twilight clopped over there with her dress on and saw Smarty Heart going around and impressing everyone with his beauty. Twilight gulped, worrying of what Smarty Heart would think of her. She kept thinking that it might either be good or it might be a bad reaction. Rarity gave her a light friendly push and smiled at her, saying "Go on. He'll be impressed." Twilight then stepped through the crowd towards Smarty Heart.

Pinkie Pie in the crowd was cheering louder than everyone in the crowd. She was cheering for Smarty Heart, with a party cannon in motion, firing confetti everywhere. It seemed that Smarty Heart definitely was famous. Smarty Heart whipped his mane back and forth, making some girl ponies faint in happiness. "We love you Smarty Heart!" Pinkie Pie shouted from her party cannon and fired more confetti out of the cannon.

When Twilight Sparkle reached the front of the crowd, she watched Smarty Heart get onto the stage to make a speech. She then went forward, staring at Smarty Heart in the process. One Pegasus in the crowd noticed that Twilight Sparkle was stepping forward with her dress on and yelled "Hey! Are you trying to get his attention? He's mine!"

Twilight Sparkle turned to the Pegasus and yelled "Hey, I'm just showing off my dress to him!" The Pegasus in the crowd clopped over to Twilight Sparkle and she toppled Twilight Sparkle onto the ground. "Hey!" Twilight Sparkle yelled. "I tell you that he's mine!" The Pegasus fan angrily said. "Leave her alone!" Rarity yelled, trying to intervene. "Keep quiet, pony!" The Pegasus racistly said, and kicked Twilight Sparkle with her front hoof. Twilight Sparkle screamed, the pain of the Pegasus's kick was hurtful to her and felt like she was being trampled by a bully. Fluttershy, who saw the whole thing, went up to the Pegasus and angrily said

"You hurt my friend! That's not nice for you to do that, you should apologize right now!" The only response that Fluttershy got was a hoof to the face, causing a fight to break out between the two Pegasus. Twilight Sparkle tried to get up, but with the pain that the Pegasus gave to her, she was too weak and just laid there, hurt. She then felt a levitation lifting her, and she was put onto the top of Smarty Heart.

Twilight Sparkle weakly blushed as Smarty Heart was carrying her somewhere in Ponyville. She felt like it was going to be a long walk for hours that Smarty Heart was doing. But before she could realize where Smarty Heart was taking her, she passed out from the harmful kick.

Twilight Sparkle felt like she had been sleeping for hours and woke up to the sound of water in a bucket and the comfort of a warm bed. Smarty Heart was using his horn to put some warm water in a cloth. Smarty Heart smiled when he saw her awake and smiled. "You passed out…" He gently said and started using the cloth to gently rub it on the part where the Pegasus kicked her. Twilight Sparkle gazed at him, he just saved her life. "I'm sorry about what happened. That wasn't supposed to happen." He said, replacing the warm cloth with a cloth with ice in it, he placed it on the pain to cool it down.

Twilight Sparkle said "Well Smarty Heart, you saved my life and I'm grateful for it. Wait… the dress I wore. Where'd it go?" Twilight Sparkle just noticed that her dress was gone, but then Smarty Heart pointed behind her and her dress was safe and sound. "I took off the dress to let you rest on my bed, but it's okay that you're safe and sound." Twilight Sparkle said "Thank you again for saving me. My name is Twilight Sparkle and I am a student of Princess Celestia."

Smarty Heart gently stroked her soft mane with his hoof and said "It's a beautiful name Twilight Sparkle." Twilight Sparkle blushed, feeling warm around him. She then thought in her head, "Yes he's mine!" After moments of silence, Twilight Sparkle asked "After you fix up my injury, w-would you like to go to the party with me?" Smarty Heart said "Sadly, I have to stay and heal you. But we can stay here and talk together, get to know each other." "I would like that very much. Do you have any books we can read?" Twilight Sparkle asked, blushing that she asked if he and she would read books together.

"Why yes, I do of course. And I'll even show you the planets through my telescope." Smarty Heart replied convincingly. "You have a telescope? I can't even get one of those things. Of course, I'd love to see the planets with you." Twilight said, blushing at the sight of Smarty Heart. Smarty Heart looked through the bookshelf and grabbed a book called "Hanging Gardens". "Here, I'll read this book with you. He then squeezed next to Twilight Sparkle and opened to the first chapter of the book. Twilight Sparkle blushed heavily, but was gazing at Smarty Heart romantically. She then thought "Oh boy, I am a really lucky Unicorn, but is he the one for me? I'm not sure. Maybe he has someone he loves, but I'll try loving him first and see if he likes me." She then put her hoof around Smarty Heart, gently stroking his mane, and in return Smarty Heart put his hoof around her, comforting her. Twilight Sparkle and Smarty Heart then gazed at each other. Smarty Heart smiled at her, and thought "I think she is the one, I know she is…"
