New Pony, New Love

The night had arrived and the Moon rose high up in the sky. Twilight Sparkle was looking at the starry sky with her lover Smarty Heart on his balcony. With such curiosity about the planets that Smarty Heart kept talking about, she finally asked "Smarty, how do know what a planet looks like? Does it look like our world?"

Smarty Heart looked at her, saying "It varies on what planet it is. If it's a gas giant, nopony can land on it as they'll just fall through. But to see them with the naked eye, look for stars that don't twinkle." Twilight looked through the sky and saw three stars that didn't twinkle. "Oh! I see them!" She said. Smarty then got out a telescope and tapped her shoulder, making her turn around and see the telescope and she was impressed.

"That's such a great telescope Smarty!" She said, observing the telescope. "Would you like to see the planets Twilight? It's quite a show." Smarty requested, to which Twilight gladly accepted and looked through the telescope at the planets. The first planet seemed to be a yellow hazy cloud planet with storms swirling, the second planet was an orange planet with polar ice caps and two small moons, the third and final planet was a ringed blue planet with a storm on it. Twilight Sparkle was amazed and said "Smarty, this is probably the best date you've ever done with me. We should do this again sometime when we're free."

Smarty Heart smiled blushing and said "Of course, anything for you." Twilight gave him a passionate kiss, her soft lips locked onto his smooth lips. After the kiss, a letter from Princess Celestia had arrived on Smarty's table. "Whoa, that letter, where did it come from?" Smarty Heart surprisingly said. When the letter had arrived, he jumped back thinking a dragon was attacking Ponyville. Twilight Sparkle said "It's a letter from Princess Celestia herself, I wonder what she wants." And used her horn to take the letter over to her and unfolded it and began to read it.

Dear Twilight Sparkle and Smarty Heart,

When we met this afternoon, I began to think for a moment. The Grand Galloping Gala will be starting soon and I thought you could take Smarty Heart to the Gala for a great time. Enclosed in the letter are eight tickets, the reason being for the eighth ticket is because of your date Smarty Heart, he is invited to attend. I am looking quite forward to meeting Smarty Heart and asking him about his adventures.

"The Grand Galloping Gala? What's that?" Smarty Heart asked as Twilight Sparkle finished reading the letter. Twilight Sparkle took out the tickets and said "It's an annual royal ball that Princess Celestia hosts every year. It was originally for high-class ponies only, but Princess Celestia thought about the others left out of the Gala, and allowed them to come as long as they dress up formally."

Smarty Heart said "I have some formal stuff, including a Sapphire necklace. The reason for the Sapphire necklace is because Sapphires are my birth stone." Twilight Sparkle winked, saying "I have a Sapphire at home. Do you want it? It's flawless and not damaged whatsoever." Smarty Heart felt excited, she had a Sapphire for him and said "YES! I'll do anything to have a Sapphire like that!" and kissed her cheek. "Well, if you help me deliver these tickets to my friends, you can have your Sapphire, my sweet winged unicorn." Twilight Sparkle said, smiling.

Smarty Heart jumped up in the air happily and romantically kissed Twilight's lips, then said "Thank you so much! This is the best night ever!"

Twilight smiled and said "Now, let's give Rainbow Dash a ticket, wherever she is in the sky. I know something that would bring her here." And activated a rainbow colored flashlight that immediately got Rainbow Dash's attention, bringing her down from Cloudsdale. Upon flying down, Rainbow Dash looking tired, said "What is it Twilight? I'm trying to get a good night sleep." Twilight giggled and said "Oh Rainbow Dash, it's a ticket to the Grand Galloping Gala. You're invited!"

Rainbow Dash heard the word "Gala" and froze for a moment open-eyed before grabbing the ticket from Twilight Sparkle and cheering wildly. "You may count me in, Twilight! Let's just hope it's not bad like last time!" Rainbow Dash said, sounding brave and proud. "Oh, and Smarty Heart's coming with us." Twilight said, abruptly. "But why, Twilight? Can't he come by himself?" Rainbow Dash said, trying not to start an argument. "I'm sorry, but Princess Celestia requested that I do." Twilight said, crossing her hooves. Rainbow Dash gave a brief glare at Smarty Heart, then turned back to Twilight Sparkle and said "Very well." Before flying off back to Cloudsdale.

"Well that's one off the list, we'll deliver to Applejack next." Twilight Sparkle said, she and Smarty Heart leaving the humble home of Smarty Heart.

Upon arriving at Sweet Apple Acres, Twilight Sparkle went onto the dirt road holding Smarty Heart's hoof upon arriving at the Apple family's door. Smarty Heart being the fine gentleman he was, knocked at the door and waited patiently, until a tired Applejack answered the door.

Upon seeing both Smarty Heart and Twilight Sparkle, she looked happily and said in a southern accent "Howdy Twilight and Howdy Smarty Heart! What both of y'all need this evening?" "We came to give you your ticket to the Grand Galloping Gala. It's coming soon." Smarty Heart said and gave Applejack her ticket. "Why thank y'all for the ticket, I sure will be attendin'." Applejack approvingly said, before closing her door to get more rest.

Twilight Sparkle looked at Smarty Heart with a smile and said "Two down, three to go." They then proceeded to go to Fluttershy's cottage.

Arriving at Fluttershy's cottage, it seemed pretty quiet around the home, a single animal fast asleep around the cottage. Twilight Sparkle dismissed that everyone might be asleep and knocked on Fluttershy's door, holding hooves with Smarty Heart. "Uhhh, you know who this is, right?" Smarty Heart asked. Twilight Sparkle then explained "It's my friend Fluttershy. She's a huge fan of animals.

A tired Fluttershy then answered the door and said "Hello Twilight." before yawning. Twilight gave Fluttershy her ticket and said "It's a ticket to the Grand Galloping Gala. And I'm bringing Smarty Heart along." Fluttershy took her ticket from Twilight Sparkle and upon seeing Smarty Heart next to Twilight, she got shy.

"I don't think we ever got an introduction. I'm Smarty Heart." Smarty Heart said, lifting his hoof out for a hoofshake from Fluttershy. Fluttershy said quietly "Hi… I- I'm Fluttershy…" "I'm sorry but I couldn't hear the rest except the Hello part." Smarty Heart said, his hoof still out for a hoofshake. Finally, Fluttershy kindly shook his hoof and said "I'm Fluttershy." "It's nice to meet you Fluttershy and don't worry if you were too quiet, I'm used to those kind of ponies."

Fluttershy giggled and said "Forgive me, I'm not used to meeting new ponies that arrive. But I better get some rest now. I'll see you guys at the Gala." Fluttershy then closed her door to have some sleep.

Twilight Sparkle then said "Now it's three down, two to go." She and Smarty Heart then trotted off to Ponyville to give Pinkie Pie and Rarity their tickets.

Twilight Sparkle looked at the Sugarcube Corner, the store was still open and Pinkie was in the store with Rarity, trying out some dresses. They entered the store and interrupted the two whom were dressing.

Pinkie Pie saw both Twilight and Smarty Heart and went nuts, jumping all over the place. She finally went over to Smarty Heart and said "Hi there! I'm Pinkie Pie!" Smarty Heart hid behind Twilight Sparkle, Pinkie was acting way too crazy. "Pinkie! You're scaring my boyfriend!" Twilight scolded at Pinkie, defending her love. "I'm sorry, but every time I see you and him together, I get super excited!" Pinkie Pie said, still bouncing.

Twilight Sparkle then said "Well I got you and Rarity tickets to the Grand Galloping Gala." Rarity went over to Twilight Sparkle and was happy. She was going to go to the Gala again. "Alright Twilight, we'll come. Let's just hope it doesn't end up like last time, remember?" Rarity said, looking sweet. "Well, I have to go now, so we'll see you at the Gala, eh?" Smarty Heart said. Pinkie Pie took her ticket, waved goodbye and went back to trying out her dresses with Rarity.

Twilight Sparkle was heading home for a good sleep and Smarty Heart was carrying her on his back and when they arrived at her house, Smarty Heart woke Twilight up with a kiss to tell her she's home, and Twilight Sparkle got off Smarty Heart and walked up to her home.

Twilight Sparkle then realized something… the Sapphire. She turned and looked at Smarty Heart and said "Since you did a wonderful job tonight, I suppose I should give you your sapphire." Smarty Heart jumped up and down with excitement and was ready for it. Twilight, using her horn magic then gave the clean, shiny sapphire to Smarty Heart, who took it using his horn magic. Smarty Heart felt flattered and gave Twilight the most romantic hug that Twilight has ever gotten.

"I love you…" Smarty Heart whispered kindly, his arms around her mane, stroking it. "I love you too my Alicorn." Twilight Sparkle said in a whisper. Twilight Sparkle then let go of Smarty Heart and went inside, but before closing the door, she said "Goodnight sweetie." Smarty Heart was happy and went home.

After Smarty Heart left, Twilight Sparkle literally jumped onto her bed and screamed into a pillow. It was the best night of her life with Smarty Heart. "Twilight Sparkle! Where in the name of Celestia have you been? I was looking all over for you!" Spike said, entering her bedroom. "Oh Spike, I was on the date with Smarty, remember?" Twilight said with a tired look on her face. "Oh yeah! Sorry." Spike said, realizing what was going on.

Twilight then pulled her covers over her body and began to sleep, her eyes resting and began to dream about her and Smarty at the Gala, kissing near the gardens.

Rainbow Dash was obviously angry, she couldn't even believe that Twilight was inviting the new pony to the Grand Galloping Gala when he could have just gone by himself. "I can't believe it! I just can't believe it! Her, bringing her new boyfriend to the Gala, under Celestia's orders? Well, she's going to be too obsessed with him soon!"

Rainbow Dash began to think, she was moving back and forth thinking of something. "I know that Smarty's her boyfriend and I respect that, but there must be a way that Twilight can hang out with me and the others without her being too obsessed with Smarty Heart." Rainbow Dash thought, putting her hooves to her face, she was acting so selfish and rude.

She hoped that her anger against Smarty would end soon before the Gala began or an argument might happen at the Gala. She just had to end the anger soon. But how? She could befriend him at the Gala or perhaps invite him to the lake with the others to swim. That seemed like a good idea… A wonderful idea…
