It was a calm morning in Ponyville, and the day started off with Time Turner getting out of bed, and going to feed his sleeping son. This routine had started 6 months ago, a couple days after his son's birth when Derpy and him were able to take Clockwork back to their home. Once out of bed, Time Turner went to his son's crib, which sat at the foot of his bed. He walked as lightly as he could, trying not to wake his sleeping son. As he got closer, he looked in his son's crib, and looked at the sleeping bundle laying in it's bedding, wrapped inside a snow white(color-wise) blanket.

Time Turner smiled, then picked up his son by his mane, gently, and took him downstairs to the kitchen. This proved to be rather difficult, since he'd have to go down the flight of stairs without dropping his son. Somehow, SOMEHOW Time Turner was able to make it down without dropping his son. He was just glad that every time his son dropped, that Turner would catch his son in his hooves before his son made contact with the ground.

Once he entered the kitchen, Turner placed his son in his high chair, then went to the refrigerator to get a bottle of milk for his son, and got some for himself as well. Once he got the milk, he got his son's bottle ready, and poured the milk into the bottle, then slapped the bottle nipple onto the top. Once he had put the nipple on the bottle, Time Turner heard a soft yawn behind him, and when he turned around he saw his young son waking up and unwrapping himself from his blanket. "My, you're up early today aren't you Clockwork?" Turner asked his son, knowing that Clockwork would only give him some random sound that most foals(until they learned to speak at least) would say all the time.

After getting a response, which to Turner sounded like "Gada!", Time Turner gave his son his bottle, then went to make some breakfast. Once he was at the stove, Turner turned on one of the burners after placing a pan over it, and went to get some eggs to turn into scrambled eggs. After getting the eggs, he cracked some over the pan and started to scrambled them. In the middle of making them, Turner swore he could feel the room get colder, until he looked up and noticed his wife hovering above him, flapping her wings repeatedly to stay air-born. "Hi honey, how'd you sleep?" Derpy asked.

"Rather well." Turner replied "Guess our little Clockwork decided to sleep in last night." He lastly said, giving a chuckle towards his son, who was still drinking his milk from the bottle given to him.

Derpy landed, then walked towards her son, and picked him up and said "And how are you Sweetie?" holding her son to where he'd be over her shoulder, and began to pat him to get him to burp. After burping her son, which took quite a while, Derpy set Clockwork back in the high chair he originally sat in, then walked to get herself and Time Turner plates for their eggs. After getting the plates, Derpy got each herself and Turner a plate of eggs, then sat them down at the table, then went for a small plate to feed to her son.

Once she got the plate ready, Derpy sat the plate down on her son's high chair's tray, then got a fork ready and tried to feed her son, who tried his best to get away from the mysterious yellow food that was being pushed towards him. "Come on Clockwork, you gotta eat your breakfast!" Derpy said to her son, pushing the fork a bit closer to who her son, who in return leaned back even farther than he already had. Watching this, Turner looked back down at his eggs and began to eat, thinking what could be wrong with the food he made.  Derpy pulled the fork back, not wanting her son to lean back so far that he'd cause the high chair to fall backwards, and began to think of someway to get her son to eat. After a couple of minutes, Derpy thought of the perfect idea "Clockwork, if you eat your breakfast, I'll take you to the park today!"

Upon hearing this, Clockwork's eyes lit up, then he became compliant with eating his breakfast, which he actually began to enjoy! After finishing his breakfast, Derpy noticed that Clockwork had some eggs on his cheeks, and got a dish towel to wipe her sons face with, so that he'd be clean when they went to the park. After cleaning his face, Derpy went and got the foal carrier that she got from her baby shower from her friends Lyra and Bon-Bon.

After getting the carrier one, Derpy put her son in it, and went to Turner and said "I'll be back, i promised our fussy eater I'd take him to the park if he ate his breakfast." Derpy then planted a kiss on Turner's cheek. Turner responded to Derpy's statement with "I know dear, I was sitting right next to you!" with a slight chuckle "I'll watch the shop while you two are gone. Love you Derpy!"

"Love you too Turner!" Derpy said, as she was heading out the door to the outside of the shop. Once outside, Derpy looked down at her son and asked him "So, how do you wanna get to the park today Sweetie?" knowing what his answer would be. Clockwork looked up at his smiling mother, and replied with "Ada!" which meant he wanted Derpy to fly them there, which was always something Clockwork loved doing, flying! Derpy immediately responded with a bound into the air, and hovered only 7 feet off of the ground, so to keep her son safe from any danger that would await him in the skies.

It took a good long while, but Derpy and Clockwork arrived at the foal's park of Ponyville. Derpy landed on the ground as soft as she could, and began walking towards a bench where an orange earth pony friend of hers was sitting. Once there, she let Clockwork go and have some fun at the safe play area, and sat down next to her friend and said "Hey Applejack! You ere with Applebloom today?"

The orange earth pony was scared by her friend, as she didn't know that Derpy arrived cause she was so busy with looking round that she didn't hear Derpy arrive! "AH!" Applejack screamed "Oh, hey there Derpy! Yeah, Ah'm with Applebloom t'day, Ah promised Granny Smith Ah'd take her here t'day." Applejack explained, looking at her 6 month old sister playing in a sand box, then noticed a light brown pegasus colt walk near here and sit down next to her. "Well looky there! Ah think Applebloom's makin' a new friend!"

When Derpy looked over to where Applejack was looking, she noticed her son was playing with Applebloom, and said to Applejack "Hey, that's my son with your little sister!" As she smiled, happy her son was making friends already.

Derpy and Applejack spent the next hour watching the two foals play together, whether it was in the sand box they met in, or running around. After this hour was up, Derpy went to pick her son up to take him home for the rest of the day. After she got her son in the foal carrier, she walked over to Applejack, who had Applebloom in a hoof-made carrier made from Granny Smith, and said "Well, it's been a fun day with you Applejack, but I gotta head home. See ya later!"

"See ya later Derpy," Applejack said "I gotta head back home m'self to begin working on my chores!" As she left, Applejack waved goodbye, and Derpy did likewise. Before she left, Derpy asked her son a question "So Clockwork, how do you wanna head home?" again knowing the answer she'd get.

But this time, was actually rather different. More specifically, Derpy didn't expect her son to reply with what he did. Looking up at his mother, Clockwork said "Ada Mommy!" with a smile on his small squishy face. Derpy was about to take off, but she stopped herself to try to recollect what she heard. "Sweetie, what did you say to Mommy?" Derpy asked her son, who looked disappointed that they weren't flying.

"Ada Mommy!" Clockwork repeated "Ada!" reaching his arms out and stretching his wings out to try to tell his mother he wanted to fly home.

Derpy began to tear up, but held back her tears, so not to make her son cry. As she wiped away her tears, Derpy began to fly as fast as she could while staying at a safe level back to the clock shop she lived in. It, once more, took a while to get to their destination, but Derpy and Clockwork made it home around the time Turner was on his lunch break.

"Turner, Turner you won't believe it!" Derpy shouted as she entered the kitchen, after bursting through the kitchen door "It's about Clockwork!"

Turner looked confused at what was going on, and asked "What, what happened to him? Is he hurt, what happened Derpy!?" As he tried examining his son from what he could see of him.

Derpy lifted Turner's face with her hooves, so he'd be looking at her when she said this, and told him the answer she long awaited to give him "He said his first word! He called me 'Mommy'!"

After hearing this, Time Turner was amazed, astounded by this statement! He turned to his son, and picked him up and said "Wow, you're becoming a fast learner, aren't you Clockwork!" while holding his son in the air like an paper air plane.

"Uh-huh Daddy!" Clockwork said, giggling at being up so high off of the floor beneath him.

After hearing this, Turner began to laugh like a proud father would if his son won a tournament or something, and hugged his son. Soon after this, Derpy came in for a hug as well, and soon the family was having a group hug inside the clock shop's kitchen.
