Of Death and Ponies

Ash spun around until he was looking directly at the bush. He could faintly see a set of eyes due to the glow of Charmander's tail.

"Who's there?"

Nobody answered.

"I said who's there!"

Still, there was no answer.

"Fine be like that, just remember that you brought this upon yourself."

Before the thing behind the bush could respond, Ash yelled a command.

"Bulbasaur use your vines to catch and reveal whatever is behind that bush!"

"Bulba!" Bulbasaur responded as he shot his vines out from his back.

The vines shot forward and through the offending bush.

Ash heard an "EEP!", a rustling of the bush, and then silence.

"Wait, don't go!" Ash yelled.

He couldn't see the set of eyes anymore, so he assumed that whatever was behind the bush was gone.

"I can't do anything right..." Ash sighed and sat back down and put his head in his hands.

The Pokemon turned towards each other and started making indistinguishable noises. They went on doing the same thing for a couple minutes and then stopped. They went over to their master and sat on all sides of him.

"Thanks guys, I don't know where I would be without you."

The Pokemon only cuddled up to the boy.

"I guess we should get some sleep, we have a big day of exploring to do tomorrow."

Pidgeot wrapped his wings around the boy and the rest of the Pokemon stayed where they were.

"Good night guys." Ash yawned.

Ash awoke to an electric shock.

"How many times I told you not to do that?" Ash spoke.

Ash heard no response from Pikachu, so he decided against going back to sleep.

"Pikachu is something wro- Who the hell are you all!?!" Ash yelled in confusion.

Pikachu walked over to Ash and whispered in his ear.

"Well, now I know who you six are, no thanks to you all talking to me!" Ash was getting mad.

"What in Celestia's name are you?" Twilight was the first one to speak.

"What's your name?" Rainbow Dash asked..

"What kind of animals are those?" Fluttershy asked.

"How in tarnation were ya not hurt by that electric thing that ya just got hit with?" Applejack asked.

"Why are you wearing those horrid clothes and that tacky hat?" Rarity asked.

"Why aren't you answering any of our questions?" Pinkie Pie asked.

"All of you sit down." Ash said calmly.

"Why?"

"It will take awhile to answer all of your questions."

The ponies complied and sat down across from Ash.

"Wait, before you start..." Twilight's horn started glowing and a purple beam shot out of it straight at Ash.

"Hey! What did you just do?" Ash asked with a hint of fear in his voice

"I cast an honesty spell on you so we can be sure that you are telling us the truth." Twilight explained.

"Ok... Well anyway, I guess I'll get started."

"I am a human and my name is Ash Ketchem. Judging by the confused looks on your

faces I'm assuming that none of you know what a human is, am I right?"

The six nodded in agreement.

"Ok, well a human is a creature that walks on two legs. Humans are also omnivores, that means that we are both carnivores and vegetarians. I'm assuming since you are ponies that means you are only vegetarians and I'm fine giving up meat if I must."

The ponies lost their looks of confusion, so Ash assumed that he had explained enough on the topic of humans.

"These animals behind me are called Pokemon. We use them to fight other Pokemon. They mean you no harm, so don't worry about them. As for me not being hurt by the electric shock, that's because back home Pikachu shocked me all the time, I guess I got use to it after a while."

"What do you mean by 'back home'?"

"Oh I guess I forgot to mention that I'm not from here."

"Then where are you from?"

"I'm from a different universe all together. I came here because I died in a Pokemon battle and I was given a second chance at life." Tears started to form in Ash's eyes.

"Hey, I'll let you stay at my cottage if you want." Fluttershy said.

The other ponies turned and stared at Fluttershy, it wasn't like her to offer to have someone stay with her, much less someone she just met.

A "Thank you" was all Ash was able to get out before he started silently crying.
