All I wanted was some peace and quiet.

"Flap harder!" Rainbowdash was yelling at me to try and get higher, as it was I could barely get to five feet off the ground. This was by far my best day in Equestria yet. I was flying, and with a beautiful mare at that...dude you're human, none of these thoughts.

"Chris, you need to flap harder if you want to get higher, come on!" I was trying, I was trying hard, I knew that I could do better, I could just feel it but it was so odd to have these two appendages on my back that I was entirely not used to at all.

"Oh I'm sorry, were you given two new wings that you have absolutely no idea how to correctly move?" She winced a bit at that, oh great now I feel bad, better make this right. I landed on the ground and motioned Rainbowdash over to me. "I'm sorry Rainbow, it's all just really hard, I am doing my best to take it all in stride, the only reason I have not asked about going back home is because I don't miss it, things just seem so much... better here, the people are nicer, you are a great example of that, you barely know me at all and yet here you are helping me to use my new wings." I looked her dead in the eyes.

"Oh, that..uhm thanks." She was blushing adorably, my word that mare does that a lot. "Thanks for, you know saying those things, but we should focus on you flying...right?"

"Uhm yeah, thanks Rainbow, would you mind showing me how it is exactly that you move your wings?" Okay focus on what you were doing. Try to stop blushing...focus on her wings...that is a really cool tattoo...and flank, NO! Nope none of those thoughts come on dude.

"Are you even looking?" She was looking at me quizzically, I really hope she did not just catch me doing what I had just done.

"Yeah of course I was. I am going to give it another try now." Okay, you can do this just flap like she did...however it was that she flapped. I was now flapping harder as I could and... was still at about five feet.

"Chris, close your eyes, relax just... I don't know, let it come naturally." I went back down to the ground and tried what she was saying. I focused on clearing my mind...focus on clearing your mind just sounds wrong, let me rephrase I was now just emptying my head of any and all thoughts.

"Okay, I got this, I can do this." Rainbowdash was now nodding her head in encouragement. I began to flap my wings as easily as my hands would just go ahead and grab something it came naturally it just felt... right. "I-I'm flying, I'm bucking flying!"

"Okay, now to work on moving, angle yourself forward a little and have your wings propel you forward." I can do that, just position mysel...

"CRAA." The taste of dirt entered my mouth, it was horrible, Rainbows laughter was nice though.

"Chris, are you okay?" She said each word in-between snickers.

"Well aside from my teeth being brown and the nasty taste of dirt in my mouth, I'm great, just peachy." It was nice seeing her happy, I liked seeing her smile... Celestia darn it, none of those thoughts! "Hey Rainbow, could you stop laughing long enough to help me get back to Twilights house, I think we should talk to her more about what's going on with me."

"Yeah sure, that's probably important isn't it?" She looked thoughtful.

"Well, I'll follow you there if you wouldn't mind." Twilight must have some answers by now.

The walk to Twilights tree was pretty short, idle chit-chat happened along the way.

"So what did you do for fun from where you came from?"

"Well, I did some bike riding, jogging mostly just kind of working out to keep myself out of the house and becoming fat and lazy. Thanks to my age and where I lived my foster parents didn't really care what I did so long as it was not dangerous.

"Oh, uhm, how old are you anyway?" She was blushing again, I don't really understand why it was that she did that so much. Maybe you embarrassed her?

"Well, I turned eighteen a few weeks before I appeared here." Now her entire face was practically purple from the cyan and the red combining, man why was she blushing so much, was there a stallion around she liked? I did a pretty quick sweep of the area and did not see anypony else than us, huh odd.

"Well uhm, you wanna hangout this Friday?" I thought about it some, aside from helping applejack I probably had nothing else planned that day.

"Yeah, sure. Should we meet at Twilights tree or..." I was interrupted by a loud squee coming from behind us, as it would turn out it looked like Rarity was on her way to Twilights house as well, and was behind us. "Uhm, Rarity, are you okay?" I had never heard such a noise come from any living being...ever.

"Oh yes I am positively beaming, you and Rainbowdash going on a date, how exciting!" I thought about it some...I think she was right, sweet Celestia I think she is right, I did not get to find out thought because before I could say anything to the rainbow and cyan mare beside me, she flew faster than my eyes could watch.

"Rainbow wait!"...She did not, crap.

"Is it something I said?" Rarity looked a bit confused, I face-hooved and went to look for Twilights house on my own.
