                                                           Chapter one: Introduction

It was a sunny day, just a normal day like any other on Earth. The only thing today that was different was that I was actually sitting still for a longer time, which may only come around once or twice a year, except when I am sleeping though. Why I was sitting still this special day was because, even though I had a small library of spell books with my memories, Celestia had ordered me after a long argument to make A book that was more accessible for everypony so they could read about my life.

“Should I really Tia?” I had asked to Celestia.

“Well, they need to know who their new ruler is more deeply.” Celestia had said in her calm tone over her newspaper.

“I don’t think they’re ready to know that…” I stated drinking my tea.

“But it’s better to tell them yourself than that somepony finds out and spread rumours, also in a book you can edit what you want to give out and what you not want to give out.” Celestia pointed out while she put down her newspaper.

“True, but still…” I was in deep thought with a worried expression. “There are a lot that I can’t leave out that will be terrifying for them…” I countered while putting down my cup. “They’ll be terrified of me, deny me as their King.”

“But remember that you’ll always have me at your side, I love you more than anything, and I will always be there. I also know that your heart is shared by many that will always be there for you. My Sister, My student Twilight and her friends and don’t forget your first love Galadia, They all will be there for you.” Celestia calmed with as she put her wing around me. “It’ll be fine Guardian.”

I still remember her words…”It’ll be fine Guardian.” …I do not know really, but well, I am jotting something down. Mostly my thoughts, but it is something to start with.

Anyway let us start. As you may know I am not a pony, I am a human…well now you really cannot call me a human, more like an “Angel.” Maybe not even that. Let me give you a short description, Think of a normal human, Remove ears, hair, nails, mouth, ears, wrinkles and then add a pair of big wings on the back, a big unicorn horn in my forehead and then also think all this in a white colour. Now you might have an idea of how I look. Forgot to tell you about my eyes also, Think them as the night sky full of stars, with my irises being the moon. That is easiest way to describe them.

Now let us get started. I have not always been like the way I described myself and I have not always been in Equestria. I have had different identities in different stages trough my life, which by the way is soon…Nine hundred? No, it has to be Eight hundred and thirty five years…or is it? Yeah, have to be thirty-five. Age takes on your memories, so it is good that I start writing this. Anyhow…

“King Guardian, Sir!”

“Holy mother of Celestia!” I yelled out while I jumped from my chair. “You scared me Silver Shield, learn to knock!”

“Sorry Sir, but it is urgent. Celestia have called for you.” The pony named Silver Shield said and waved his hoof towards the throne room. Silver Shield is a white unicorn with a silver shield with two crossed swords as a cutie mark.

“Let me fix one or two things here, it will only take five seconds.” I said and got one or two things and closed my book.

As we approached the throne room, I remembered that I still had my weekly visit to Cloudsdale to take care of. I still have things to do after four day of hard work and traveling all around Equestria. Silver Shield though could just stay here and watch over all my belongings while I was gone. I like him though, even if he is my personal royal guard, we have our fun from time to time. I pushed the wooden door open to the throne room and found my queen sitting there looking at a scroll, would not be surprised if it was from Twilight.

“Celestia, my love.” I said and reached her for a hug.

“Guardian, my dear.” Celestia said and gave me my hug. She released her hug and righted herself in the throne.

“Now, what’s so urgent? I said specifically that I didn’t want to get disturbed in my writing.” I replied and used the throne as support as I sat down next to it.

“I know, but this is about your writing. You’re going to Ponyville.” Celestia stated and handed me the scroll with her magic.

“What? I this on a request from a certain ‘Twilight Sparkle’ that I maybe know?” I said and gave Celestia a look. Celestia gave a small smile and averted her look. I started reading the scroll.

Dear tutor and mentor Celestia

I have heard a rumour that our dear Jacques have started on a specific book that tells his life story, and that I would like to request that he writes it in Ponyville. First, so I can help him to translate it over to Equestrian, I still know he’s not good at it, Second so that he can spend time with me and my friends, we haven’t seen him in months, so we want to spend time with him.

Your faithful student Twilight Sparkle

As I thought, this was on Twilights request. However, she said that her and her friends have not seen me in months, so this might also be a bit from them as well. It is true however, I have not seen them in months, and I miss them to be honest.

“Ok, but will this be okay for you? I won’t be around for some time to help around.” I asked and looked at Celestia.

“It’ll be okay around here, me and Luna have handled the royal duties before so you can go. Also, remember that this is a request from Twilight.” She said and gave me her usual smile. I gave a smile back and said:

“I will start packing for my journey then, Twilight will also have a lot of stuff that I don’t need to pack.” I gave Celestia a kiss on her cheek and returned to my room with silver shield in tow. As we had closed the door behind us, I said:

“Silver Shield, pack your stuff too, you’re going with me off duty.”

“What? But who will look…”

“Just do it.” I stated and went to my room, leaving Silver with a dumbfound look. As I closed the door to my office room, this was really my room, but I did not have a bed in here. I just had shelves with books, a couch or two, a fireplace, my writing desk with accessories and a wardrobe. One of the walls is floor to ceiling windows with a look over the courtyard. Where my bed is, well… Celestia and I share the same bed in another room. I approached the wardrobe, picked out my special made bag, and started packing stuff like: my book, some Hakamas (I actually walk around topless for some reason), one of my long coats that Rarity had made for me (if the weather did not like me) and some random supplies. Before I left my room, I grabbed my staff and my sword. They are like my signature these days. I treaded down the hall and went to the royal barracks. As I came to quarter six I heard hoofs and a bit of rumbling on the other side of the door.

“What should I pack!? I don’t know what to bring!?” I heard Silver Shield beyond the closed door.

“Pack what you would pack when you go on a vacation.” Another voice inside said. I didn’t recognize it at first, but after a second I recognize it as High Buck, one of Silvers friends.

“But I have never been on a vacation!” Silver yelled out and the hoof sounds stopped.

“Pack a set of your armour, a set of fine clothes and a set of free items if you would get bored.” I said and stepped through the newly opened door.

“King Guardian, Sir!” Both of them yelled out and stood at attention.

“At ease, and pack what I said Silver. Where leaving already today.” I said and picked a small pocket watch up that was put on Silvers bed table. It is of nineteenth-century style with the phrase ‘Follow your dreams to protect the throne’ on the back of it. Silver snatched the watch out of my hand and put it in his saddlebags.

“That’s a personal thing, sir.” Silver said after he had stuffed the watch away.

“You ready?” I asked plainly.

“Yes, Sir!” Silver yelled out.

“Good, but you can put down the whole ‘sir’ thing now, from now on you’re off duty, and you’re my traveling companion.” I said and waved goodbye to High Buck, who just had been sitting around and kept his mouth shut.

Train rides… Even though I have wings, I can basically just open and close them or make a hard flap so I get some air, but nothing more. Therefore, train rides… just train rides from place to place, and do not get me started on magic and using teleportation, that is even worse. Therefore, it is down to train rides when I am getting around. I still have to tell you about my life I remember, so let me start.

This is my journey… My journey through my eight hundred years long life.
