I Miss You Dashie
Kordis and Twilight
Previous ChapterNext ChapterThings started crazier and crazier as the entire group traveled along. Kyle was busy levitating everything in sight, still not quite over the fact he could not wear his favorite hat. Francis and all three Rainbows were playing tag, flying and things. Dr. Whooves, Ditzy, and Fluttershy slowly trotted along, and tried to look inconspicuous. Just the fact that they were together in a group made them suspicious in the eyes of every pony they met. One pony even started throwing cake out the window. Kyle muttered something about “assaulting us with cake”, but no one wanted to get any closer to the lunatic. It was time to make a decision.
Francis landed and asked, “Who would be the most helpful now that we need to find the others?”
Fluttershy chimed in, “Probably Twilight. She’s super smart, and probably know what to do,” she glanced at the two humans “and probably knows what to do with you two.”
Kyle said “Yeah, Twi would know how to go about all this.”
“He could also help train Kyle...” Ditzy had a good point.
“So it’s settled.” announced Dr. Whooves, “we find Twilight and help her see sense, then the others. But where?”
Fluttershy spoke up. “I have an idea... Twilight used to go out to a cave in the Everfree. I know she never saw me, and I think I’m the only one who knows where the cave is other than Twilight. We can check there.”
“Twilight, huh?”
Twilight sat in her inner sanctum in the Everfree Forest, debating with herself.
“Come on, Celestia wouldn’t abandon me, her prized student. Everything will be fine Fine, fine, fine....”
“But what if it’s not? What if Dash has left for good?”
“Dash is the element of Loyalty. She wouldn’t do that.”
“But she already did. Twice. And it was your fault.”
“My fault?”
“Yes, your fault... if you didn’t make so many mistakes, if you weren’t such a failure, none of this would have happened.”
“Oh, sweet Celestia, it is my fault. But what am I supposed to do?”
“My dear, isn’t it simple? The human is coming here with others right now. Rainbow Dash is in that group.”
“But that is a good thing, isn’t it?”
“Nonononono, my dear, she is not the same, she had betrayed you for the human. Rainbow Dash and the human will destroy Equestria. They already brainwashed innocent little Fluttershy into joining their cause. But you, the most powerful unicorn in existence, can stop all this madness. Just kill them. One spell is all it would take.”
“One spell...”
“One spell.”
“You’re right, I can do this. For Equestria. Who are you, anyway?”
“Just the voice of reason, my dear, in the midst of all this chaos.”
“So, what can I call you?”
“How about... Kordis. My name here symbolizes bringing a chord of truth amidst all this destruction. I am the sense of justice, and follow the path of the median. I can teach you chaos magic to aid you in this endeavor, of destroying the ones who caused all this. Did you know that four hundred ponies have died so far?”
“N-No, I didn’t know that.” Twilight steeled her nerves. “But it will all end. All this destruction will finally end. Teach me what you know, Kordis.”
“Okay, I think I got this. I have to focus on my horn, and imagine the end result.”
“Exactly, my dear. If you want somepony gone, imagine their head charred, and lightning will burn their brains out. That, my dear, is how chaos magic works.”
Twilight had been working for several hours, at a much accelerated crash course on chaos magic. She progressed steadily, and easily managed distraction magic: the usual chaos magic used by Discord, and destruction magic: lightning, fire, tornadoes, and all that. All that was left to teach was detraction: the ability to instantly draw the life force out of another being. And she was making quick headway. Killing larger and larger animals with increasing ease, she did not stop until she felled a manticore. Her personality had been tinged to the point that it was unrecognizable.
“Okay, human, let’s dance.”
