Chapters Pinkie Pie stood impatiently at her mailbox. Occasionally she would open the lid and look inside. Her friends had given up on pulling her away. They tried all they could think of for three days, then thy had to give up. That day marked on whole week of not budging from the mailbox. Her mane had deflated long ago. Every time Ditzy Doo showed up, Pinkie Pie's mane would fluff slightly, only to deflate when she checked the mail. After what seemed like an eternity, Ditzy showed up.
"Is it here?!" Pinkie's voice seemed desperate.
"No, Pinkie. Maybe it got lost." Ditzy said.
"Aww…" Pinkie's mane drooped again.
"For once Pinkie, I'm kidding. It just got here. BRING IT OVER HERE PLEASE!" Ditzy said as two stallions brought a rather large package around the corner.
"YAY!" Pinkie shouted. Her mane was back to normal and she gave them her signature smile. "THIS CALLS FOR A PARTY!" She shouted. She reached behind her back and pulled out a stack of invitations for a party in one hour. Every pony got one. Pinkie asked her friends to help her get ready.
"Well shucks! Ah never thought Pinkie Pie would ever be a needing our help settin up for a party." Apple Jack said.
"It must have something to do with the package she's been waiting for. I am dying to know what's in it!" Rainbow Dash said. "I hope it's cool."
"I hope it's fabulous!" Rarity said.
"I hope it's safe." The egghead of the group commented.
"I hope, for her sake, it's fun and worth the wait." Sweet little Fluttershy's voice was hardly more than a whisper.
"Oh don't worry! I need help setting it up, it's awesome, it's fabulous, it's safe, and super-de-duper fun!" Pinkie Pie exclaimed from behind the group. The ponies jumped and Fluttershy got so scared she jumped/flew and grabbed a cloud. She shut her eyes and clung tight to it.
"Help me Dashie, if your not busy!" Fluttershy said as tears fell from her eyes.
"Sigh, I'm comin." Rainbow Dash said as she flew up. She slowly and carefully put the cloud on the ground. As soon as she touched, Fluttershy hugged Rainbow Dash. "Thank you." She said. Rainbow sighed and flew to cath the others who had continued on. Fluttershy trotted and soon caught up. It wasn't long before the six friends found SugarCube Corner. Pinkie took them all around back. Sitting, fully inflated, was a multicolored bounce pillow.
"It's awesome!" Said Rainbow Dash.
"It's fabulous!" Spoke Rarity.
"It's simple!" Commented Apple Jack.
"It looks like fun." Fluttershy mumbled.
"It looks dangerous." Twilight said flatly. "Pinkie! Do you know how easy it is to hurt yourself on something like this? Really really easy!"
"Oh relax, Twi! No accidents have been reported on one of these in seven years. It can't be that dangerous." Pinkie grinned.
"Just be careful." Twilight said with a shake of her head. She fluttered her wings. "Apple Jack has strong bones and muscles from working on the farm, Rarity has magic, I have wings and magic, Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy have wings, but you Pinkie, you have weird Pinkie Pie senses. What if they don't work? The rest of us could catch ourselves if we fall, or be almost immune to a hard impact. You just have your senses that won't warn you when they need to someday."
"Are you saying I'm weak?" Pinkie's voice quivered.
"Just be careful." Twi said as guests started to show up.
later at the party
Pinkie Pie bounded higher and higher on her pillow. Several larger stallions were on it, but they just made her bound higher. She laughed with glee. Suddenly, a large pegusus with weights as a cutie mark bounced onto the pillow, hard. Pinkie flew into the air. She laughed loudly at the joy of the air rushing past her face. Her laughter stopped suddenly when she hit the pillow. She managed to stop herself from bounding again. Her right hind hoof felt as if it would collapse. She crawled off the pillow and tried to walk to a nearby bench. She winced as the pain hit her. She limped to the bench. A swift glance at her ankle scared her. Her ankle was (what seemed to her) five times its normal size.
"What's wrong, Pinkie? Wanna do something else?" Rarity asked as she stepped over. Despite her hate of "ruffian activities", she loved the bounce pillow.
"Rarity, get Twilight. My ankle, it hurts and I can barely walk on it. Hurry!" Pinkie Pie's face showed the pain that she felt. Rarity wasted no time. When a friend was hurt, she would go as far as run until she was sweaty. And she was sweating when she found Twilight and the others.
While Pinkie waited for what seemed like hours, she mumbled to herself, " I used to think you were a pillow of fun, now I see you're just a pillow of pain." A bright purple light interrupted her thoughts. Twilight and Friends stepped out of the quickly disappearing light.
"Pinkie Pie! Are you alright?" Twilight's face was full of worry. Pinkie shook her head. Carefully, Twilight touched and poked at the swollen ankle. Finally, she came to her conclusion.
"Pinkie, you have to go to the ER. I think your ankle is broken." Twilight's voice sent a feeling of helplessness over Pinkie Pie as Apple Jack picked her up and ran towards the nearest cart. She and her friends quickly took her to the Emergency Room.
Relief…and disappointment
AppleJack lifted Pinkie Pie out of the cart and on her back. "Me and Twi got this. The rest ya'll head back to the party." The farm mare said.
"If you're sure darling. We'll be praying, Pinkie." Rarity said. She turned and herded the others away. They all left with heavy hearts.
Twilight lifted Pinkie using a levitations spell.
"Ah don't get why we need to bring her in for the X-ray. Us Apples usually just get 'er rapped and make em sit in bed for a while." AppleJack said.
"I would like Nurse Redheart's opinion. Better safe than sorry." Twilight defended. "Besides, if it is broken then they can put it in a cast here."
"OW!" Pinkie's voice said as quietly as she could. It still came out rather loud. Twilight turned her attention to Pinkie Pie, her ankle was smashed against the wall.
"Oh Pinkie! I'm so sorry!" She apologized.
"It's ok, Twilight." Pinkie said through clenched teeth.
"Nurse Redheart! Pinkie's hurt!" Applejack called to the nurse. She quickly rushed them into a room.
"What happened?!" The nurse asked.
"I was on a bounce pillow at my party and I landed on it crooked." Pinkie explained.
"Oh…Pinkie!" The nurse said. "Ouch."
"I think it might be broken, nurse." Twilight said.
"Pinkie Pie, I need you to be brave. I'm gonna have to touch your ankle and you have to answer my questions. Okay?" She said giving Pinkie an encouraging smile. Pinkie nodded and said a quick prayer. Then the pain started.
"On a scale of one to ten, what is your pain level?"
"Seven."
"Does this hurt?"
"Not really."
"How about here?"
"OW! Yes!"
"Where does it hurt the most?"
"Right here." The conversation between nurse and patient was quick but painful. The nurse occasionally touched, but She tried not to.
"Blue Cross!" Redheart yelled. A white pony entered the room. Her cutie-mark was a blue shield.
"Yes ma'am!" She said.
"I need you took get some information from Princess Twilight Sparkle while AppleJack and I go get an X-ray on Pinkie."
"Yes ma'am." She said. She began to assault the princess with insurgence questions. Pinkie was carried by her friend to a room where they gave her an X-ray. Pinkie hated the fact that they wouldn't let her move at all. They finally got what they needed an took her back to where Blue Cross had just finished. Both nurses left the room. Pinkie sat on the bed.
"Twilight!" Pinkie said.
"What?" The Alicorn asked.
"BORED!" Pinkie Pie tried to shout. Apple Jack was just too quick and tossed an apple into her mouth. The nurses returned shortly (an eternity to Pinkie) after the apple disappeared down her throat.
"Good news, Pinkie! Your ankle isn't broken! It's just sprained!" The bubbly Blue cross said.
"NOOOO!" Once again her cry was muffled by an apple.
"You need to use crutches for the next day or two, then take it easy. Don't do anything that hurts more than a three on the scale. Understand?" Nurse Redheart asked as Blue Cross rapped the ankle up. "And kelp it rapped for a while. Ice it often. I'll trust your friends to keep you inline." She finished. She handed Pinkie a set of crutches. They had slots for her fore hooves to rest in.
"Thank you, nurse." Twilight said over her shoulder as she and her two friends exited the hospital. Pinkie once again rode in the cart as the Earth Pony pulled and Twilight trotted beside.
"Worst day ever." Pinkie mumbled.
They were back at the party in ten minutes. Pinkie barely held back tears when she saw the bounce pillow. She, with the support of her friends and crutches, limped inside SugarCube Corner.
"Oh Pinkie Pie! Rarity told us and we were so worried!" The Cakes cried as they trotted to where she was sitting. Pinkie's mane and tail were deflated and her ears were flopped forward in a sad and helpless look. Her noes shook slightly.
"Sigh. My Pinkie sense says that something unexpected is going to happen." Pinkie said without looking up. Tears streamed from her eyes as the Chicken Dance started playing. She loved that song.
"We baked you a Get Well Cake! Hope you enjoy."'Mr. Cake said in an attempt to cheer her up.
"I've made a ton of these. I never thought I would end up with one." Pinkie said between sobs. Her heart was broken and nothing any pony said that night helped. The party ended and guests left with promises of prayer.
Twilight and Gang stayed behind as other ponies left.
"Are you alright, Pinkie?" Fluttershy asked.
"I…I guess so." She responded.
"Pinkie Pie! I just remembered. We're having a volleyball game Monday! Can you still play?" Rainbow Dash asked.
Pinkie Pie's main drooped. "No… I don't think so. I'm sorry, Dashie! We really were going to beat those Manticores*, But I'll still cheer, yay Griffons*."
Rainbow grimaced at her friends lack of enthusiasm.
"Well… we'd better get going, see you tomorrow, Pinkie Pie!" Twilight said.
"Um…Twilight? Could you and the others stay here tonight? I don't want to be alone." The pink mare begged.
"Ah'd love ta stay, Pinkie!" Apple Jack said, cheers if agreement rose from the others.
"Ahh…Twilight! What about me?" Spike grumbled.
"There's a guest room down the hall, Spike." Mrs. Cake said as she walked through the room carrying her twins.
"Thanks, Mrs. Cake!" Spike called.
"Pinkie, darling, can we go upstairs?" Rarity asked. Twilight levitated the injured mare up into her room.
"Can I hang out with you girls for a little bit?" A certain baby dragon asked. He got six nods.
"Pinkie Pie, I think you could use some encouragement from the Bible right now." Twilight suggested, summoning a KJV Bible.
"For I know the thoughts I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Jeremiah 29:11." Twilight said. "You see, God knows what is going to happen, and he planned it to all turn out for good."
"Yeah right, Twilight! Science doesn't prove that God exists! You know that actual science books point towards evolution." Spike huffed. At the strange looks he got, he stormed off to the guest room.
"What's up with Spike?" Rainbow Dash asked.
"He needs prayer, he isn't a Christian." The princess replied. Rarity singed and the others gasped.
"Can we read another one, Twilight? That is…if it isn't to much trouble…" Fluttershy finally spoke up.
"Sure! Here's one! You all know these! 'For God so loved the world that he sent his only begotten son, that whosoever believes on him shall not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his son into the world but that the world through him might be saved.' John 3:16-17. This verse speaks about how much God loves all of us." Twilight said.
They continued to read and explain verses for nearly an hour, but eventually they grew tired and went to their sleeping bags.
"Girls?" Pinkie said. A chorus of 'hm's' responded. "My favorite free was Jeremiah 29:11. I'm so glad God has a plan for me!"
"Me too, Pinkie, me too." AppleJack said as the last of the ponies drifted off to sleep.
morning
Pinkie Pie woke and grumbled as pain hit her.
"Drat! I've got to go and my ankle is sprained!" She thought to herself. She gingerly put weight on her ankle.
"Where the hay do y'all think yer goin?" AppleJack asked, stepping in front of her friend.
"I have to go!" She squeaked in response.
"Go where?"
"AppleJack! Across the hall!" Pinkie whined. AJ turned and saw the restroom. She quickly backed away and watched Pinkie limp across the hall and shut the door.

"Wake up, Spike." Twilight gently nudged her friend awake.
"No matter what you say, I'm not listening." Spike said, stopping the mare from another religious speech. If there was one thing that Spike couldn't stand, it was religion. After all, science proved that evolution was much more likely.
"Oh Spike…"
"I said I don't want to hear it, Princess Sparkle." He said with anger in his voice.
"Let's go get breakfast." Twilight said with a sigh.

The Cakes provided a deliciously looking breakfast of cupcakes. One plate, the Cakes said, was for Spike. It had a special surprise in it.
"Oh boy!" Spike said. He nearly grabbed one, but his "sister" refrained him with magic.
"Wait till they pray." She whispered.
Spike did As he was told. The prayer seemed to take hours. Full of "thank you's, and please's, and all that other stuff. Spike didn't care as long as it ended soon.
"And thank you for giving Pinkie such wonderful friends. In your name, Amen." He ended. Spike wasted no time in eating his breakfast. A fine collection of jewels had been inserted in so that it almost seemed as though he had cupcakes with his jewels. He loved every bite of it.
"So, Twilight, what are you studying now?" Mr. Cake asked.
"Oh! I'm studying about God's promises and plans!" Twilight chirped. She was zoned out by Spike as soon as she said "God".
