Two sides of the same abyss

You woke up from your dreamless sleep and rose from your bed. Knowing that the day was always the same for some reason chrysalis in trusted you in guarding her and her daughter.

The day was always the same but lately some of the other guards looked sluggish and not wanting to help.

You knew that changelings fed on emotions be it anger,happiness,or concern. They ate emotions lately you've been able to sustain the hive not the entire hive but a small portion.

Chrysalis has been planning but nothing could come to mind for her plans. As she had no idea what to put she couldn't attack the nearby kingdoms as they were much too strong.

The griffon empire were a bunch of hard head soldiers that weren't as corrupt land owners like the ones in your world but they were strong.

They couldn't attack equestria as again it was much too powerful and her troops were much too weak to attack.

Nothing came to mind for ideas as you only been in equestria for a few months not long enough for you to know the countries that surrounded the hive.

A few hours later...

"We need a new source of emotions Tenebris somewhere that have plentiful emotions."

"Will any emotions do?" You asked

"Anger,sadness,and happiness. All of those emotions can sustain us for many years but love. Love is the most powerful emotion that can sustain the whole hive. If we can find a place where it's unlimited amount of love can be found without losing my troops then we can finally rest easy." Chrysalis said slumping on her throne

"Is there anyway we can open a portal to my world a way for those bigots can become empty husks of what they use to be." You said with anger

"Only the most powerful of magic can open a rip into another world." Chrysalis stated

You had magic but not nearly powerful as anybody else. You were still 16 and you didn't have much in terms of magic.

"What if we find someone to support our cause?" You asked

"We'd never find anypony willing to help us invade another less for personal gain." The more you thought of the idea the less and less you wanted to try it.

Sure you wanted vengeance but nobody would help you turn people into empty husks.

You sighed as there wasn't much you couldn't do you wanted to help your friend she was the ruler of the hive and needed to provide. Sooner or later you'd leave the hive and go somewhere else but until you find them emotions you weren't going anywhere.

"What if I managed to get some emotions the easy way." You asked

"Hmm that could work what do you have in mind?" She asked

"Well you see I can give you emotions so much that I won't turn into a emotionless zombie. Maybe there's some way we could get more emotions from me without going somewhere else." You said to her

"Well there is one way but we only known each other for a few months and-" Chrysalis went quiet as you knew what she was about to say.

You sighed as you couldn't do that to a friend. Even though her hive needed it you weren't about to pressure her.

"Damn right now we just need to reserve most if the emotions for a few of the troops and a lot of it toward the children of the hive." You said rubbing your temples

"You're working yourself too hard my friend you don't need to worry about it." Chrysalis said rubbing your shoulder

"But I live here too I want, no, I need to contribute since I came here I've finally made friends and, I'm not a lonely fuck back on my world."

"Looks its getting late just sleep and we'll talk more tomorrow." You sighed as you rose from your seat and walked to your room

Once there you closed your eyes and feel into a deep slumber.

You woke up in a white plain the area looked barren and had a soothing tone to it.

"Hello." You looked behind you to see a mare an alicorn she was the height as you and looked like the same age as yourself.

"Uh hey." You said awkwardly

"Um I noticed that you're new here and I'd like to introduce myself. I'm Princess Luna of equestria." She said with a blush

"Oh I'm Tenebris."

"That means darkness in Latin correct?" She asked

"Yeah. How do you know?"

"Well you see this is your dream realm and I've been able to see some of your life such as names and what you experienced." She said shyly

"What! You had no right in searching my mind!" You shouted angrily

"I-I'm s-sorry please don't hurt me." She responded trembling

You sighed as you looked at your hands they were glowing bright red and felt extremely hot.

That was a side effect for being a shadow Mage anger was easily spotted in everyone of your kind.

"It's fine I'm just under a lot of stress that all." You said slumping over on the floor

"Oh and what does a 16 year old have to be stressed about? I'm around your age and my sister and I run a kingdom." She said with a small smile

"Okay that seems a bit hard then my thing. Anyway my problem is that I have a hive to feed and my friend and I are kind of stuck."

"You're working with changelings?!" She asked

"Yeah what's the big problem? I mean she's nice and really isn't all that mean. Sure she can be a little weird but I'm okay with it."

"Well nevermind anyway, I saw what those ponies did to you. Why would they want you to die?" Luna asked

"I'm not sure ever since the elders scroll were, destroyed nothing has really been the same. You see a long time ago the four tribes would talk and, try to make peace with each other somehow the light mages convinced the other magi that shadow magi were the son of the world. I mean sure we create destruction and, chaos but, that's our job we're basically grim reapers of our world."

"Well I can't say I relate but you still have your health. What if you got revenge on the ponies who did that I mean they deserve it don't they?" She asked

"Yeah they do deserve it. Hey can you help me create a portal to my world." You asked

"You want my help?" She asked with a blush

"Of course you're a pony that looks super powerful maybe you can help me." You said holding her hand

She gasped and nodded happily.

You backed up and, concentrated your magic on your hands black inky aura was, placed on your hands you made a straight line on the ground, and stomped on it making a dark surge pass through both Luna's and your bodies.

Luna shudder as, she held your hand. She was afraid as, the aura expanded you squeezed her hand she looked at you but, you didn't look at her you looked forward to see your old world.

"We did it Luna." You hugged her with all your strength you placed her down on the ground as she smiled happily.

"I'll see ya later Luna." You said as you saw the door to reality.

She waved goodbye and went towards her reality.

Luna...

Luna woke up happily she hasn't felt this happy for a long time.

She moved towards her mirror and talked to her alternate persona.

"Nightmare we finally found a pony who's just like us!" Luna said with a smile

"Yes he seems admirable and brave with the things he seen I'm sure he'd like to help us with our little quest."

"I'll ask him if he'd like to join!" Luna said

"Luna are you okay?" Celestia asked

"Yes I'm fine sister. We'll talk later Nightmare."
