Dreams of a Love I Haven't Met
Ch06: The Unthinkable
Previous ChapterCelestia cooed a bit as she felt the pleasing sensations rolling down her spine, purring a bit as she shifted to get more comfortable. “Mmm, thank you love, I needed this after dealing with the nobles for so long.”
That earned her a giggled, and then she saw her mate lie down next to her, the pretty kirin mare smiling brightly as she traced a claw along her shoulder. “It’s no trouble Tia, after all you have done far more for me from time to time, I am merely returning the favor.”
Celestia chuckled at that, “Come now Terra, you and I both know you have done far more for me; after all, you are the one who was able to get me to truly love again.”
“Oh you already could love my dear,” said Terra with a smirk, “I simply…reminded you what it was like again, now come on, give me a kiss.”
Celestia did, leaning forward and giving her mate a kiss, and then the world went black as a faint voice sounded within her ears.

“Sister…sister are you alright?”
Celestia groaned a bit as she lifted herself into a sitting position, the dream still fresh in her mind, but she tried to ignore it for now. “What happened?”
“You…I think you have fallen under the spells influence sister, for I felt its magic on you.”
Celestia shook her head, “no, no that can’t be, it mustn’t…”
“But sister,” said Luna, “you were dreaming just now, and it was a dream I could not enter, and it bore the same magic as the dreams which often plagued Futile’s mind.”
Celestia stared at the floor for a long moment, then, with a sigh, she shook her head. “I’m sorry Luna, but it must have been something different, for I dreamed of nothing like your student described.”
“But sister…?”
“Enough Luna,” said Celestia, “it must be something else. Now, I am going to Ponyville to see how Twilight is doing as well as speak to Futile’s mate. While I am gone, you are in charge, so don’t do anything I wouldn’t do while I’m gone.”
“But sister don’t you think you should wait a bit, at least till we can find out what happened?”
“That won’t be necessary,” said Celestia, before leaving the room in a hurry and leaving her sister alone, worrying after her older sister.

On the other side of the door, Celestia was leaning against it, breathing in and out to try and calm her raging mind.
“Calm down Celestia, you just…you just need to get moving, the dream meant nothing to you, and it can stay that way”
With that thought, she collected herself, and then gathered up the necessary energy to teleport, finding herself outside of Twilight’s tree home, instead of in the main lobby.
“That dream must have shaken me up more than I thought, but I can live with it, now I need to go speak to my student.”
With this decision made, she moved up to the balcony with a flap of her wings, landing upon it before knocking on the door and waiting till Twilight opened the door and pulled her into a hug. “Celestia, I’m so glad you came, I’ve learned so much since my last letter to you.”
Celestia smiled at that, but then she shook her head as she spoke. “Sadly Twilight, I am not here about that right now, I actually came here to ask you how you are doing, seeing as how Futile is living here with his true love.”
Twilight’s face immediately fell, and she turned away and walked back into her room. “I…I’ve been doing ok, but…”
Celestia placed a wing on her back, “It’s ok Twilight, you can tell me.”
Twilight began to cry, “It just hurts so much, I mean I was ok a while, because I was taking care of Death Petal, but after he came back he took her away, and I…I almost stopped him.”
“You cared for her, didn’t you?”
Twilight nodded, “Like she was my own, she…she even called me mom once long ago, but I guess I can’t keep her can I?”
Celestia gave her a reassuring smile, “It will be ok Twilight, but at least you were able to stay friends with him, not many ponies can say that.”
Twilight nodded, and then spoke up as she wiped tears from her eyes. “Well, was their anything else you needed princess, I doubt you’d just come down here to check on me?”
“I normally would say otherwise Twilight, but actually I also came here to meet with Futile’s mate, for it has been a long time since I have seen a Kirin who lived outside of Chineigh.”
Twilight’s eyes widened in wonder, “So wait, Kirin still exist?”
“Of course Twilight,” said Celestia, “but most of them don’t live outside of Chineigh, due to the dragon ruler Tiamat wanting to protect them.”
“I remember her,” said Twilight, “She always used to bring me the coolest things from there; a lot of it which helped me raise Spike. Do you know when she is planning on coming to visit again?”
“Unfortunately no Twilight,” said Celestia, “for she is still looking for her daughter, and the search is consuming all of her time, she hasn’t even been able to accept my visits, even though I travel there as often as I can to see her.”
“Well just be careful when you head over to Futile’s, he seems to be getting extremely protective since he got her to their new him, most likely due to instincts.”
“I’ll be careful Twilight,” said Celestia with a quick nuzzle, and then she left, her student sighing a bit before deciding to get back to her research.

After quick trip to the mayor’s office, Celestia found herself in front of Futile’s new home, her hesitance keeping her from knocking on the door.
Much to her relief, it was not Futile who opened the door, but when she saw who it was, she gasped in shock. “Kira?”
Immediately the mare tried to close the door on her, but she was able to stop it with a hoof, managing to push her way inside as she looked at the kirin mare with concern. “Kira where have you been, your mother has been worried sick looking for you!?”
“Don’t you think I know that,” said Kira as she moved toward her couch, getting atop it as the Princes sat in front of her. “But I had to get away; I was being forced into a marriage I didn’t want.”
“Well did you tell your mother about…about your dreams?”
Kira shook her head, “No, because it wouldn’t have mattered, I was the queen’s daughter; therefor I was expected to marry a dragon or kirin from one of the royal houses.”
Celestia hesitated a moment, then she spoke up. “You know I will have to let your mother know where you are, don’t you?”
Kira nodded, but then her eyes narrowed for a moment, her horns glowing a bit before she gasped, her eyes showing concern. “Celestia, you…you have the…”
Celestia cut her off, “I know, that…that’s actually why I originally came here to talk with you…for I…I think my dreams are leading me to one of your…your foals.”
Kira’s eyes widened at this, but Celestia kept on going. “T…tell me, is one of your foals a mare?”
Kira nodded, “I see…and have you decided on a name?”
Kira nodded again, “Terra.”
Celestia sighed, “I see, then it is as I feared, for it seems my dreams have…have latched on to your daughter.”
“I see,” said Kira, “well, that makes me happy then, at least she won’t…”
“I want you to make sure she stays away from me.”
Kira looked surprised, “What?”
Celestia sighed, “Kira look, I know you think these dreams are a good thing, but the curse was originally made by my sister, who weaved a form of magic into it which caused it to grow out of control. I intend to make sure it stops, but to do that, your daughter must never approach me ever, for I fear that if she does, we may end up in a situation which may lead to us having children.”
“But what about others who have the curse?”
“I intend to use my sister to help me find them all, and when I do, I shall make sure this curse dies out once and for all.”
Much to Celestia’s surprise, Kira giggled, “What’s so funny?”
“Well Princess,” said Kira, “I am afraid that if you go about it that way, you will never be able to stop the curse, you will only slow its growth.”
Noticing the confused look on Celestia’s face, Kira continued. “You see, of the three foals growing inside me, not all of them will inherit the curse at its fullest. Sure, thanks to you now I know that my daughter will bear its full weight, but as for the other two, there remain two more possibilities. One, they could not inherit the dreams, but they can still carry the curse within them, which can still be passed on to their children. Or, they could not have it at all, which means any descended from them will never suffer from the dreams unless they mate with another who has the curse within them.”
“How do you know this?”
Kira smiled, “because I have a twin sister called Ishmeya, and she does not have the dreams, nor does she bear the curse.”
Celestia looked devastated, but Kira did not, “Do not be troubled, this will be a good thing for you, for from what my mother said you have lived a very lonely life.”
“I lead a lonely life because I must,” said Celestia sternly, getting up from the floor and heading to the door, “And no dreams will change that.”
She then vanished in a burst of light, causing Kira to sigh, though she had a smile on her face, looking down at her belly before speaking. “Fear not dear Terra, we’ll show her the truth eventually, after all, neither of you have a choice…when it comes to love.”
Author's Note
Yes, I know the implications in this chapter in regards to the curse are dark, but don't worry, things will work themselves out in the end.
