The Equestrian History: The Reckoning
“I only have one question!” The man stood on the table surrounded by so many frightened faces a mask covering his scowl to them. “Where is Twilight…” he began turning till he came in view of the doorway watching a figure run out the double doors her purple hair with a single pink highlight being the last thing to disappear. A small grin formed on his face, “Sparkle.”
...
Twilight ran across the gardens path, or attempted to, as one of her heels snapped of cause her foot to twist wrong. She let out a groan of frustration and pain, quickly removing both heels and throwing them into one of the nearby bushes she continued down the cobblestone path. As she limped she looked around for anything that looked adventitious . She remembered Celestia telling her what exactly to look for, but it had been so long ago! As Twilight walked she thought back to that day.
...
Twilight walked through the hall toward the meeting room. As she walked, she passed by many pillars, Pictures, and marble statues. The hall seemed more designed than she remembered, but she was not here to take in the scenery she was here because Celestia had requested her presence. As she neared the giant oak doors a single guard stood watch over them. He immediately opened the door bowing as he did so upon recognizing who she was closing it behind her. She now stood in a huge circular room the other end filled with clear glass panels contrary to the throne room which was filled with stained glass. They did, however, maintain the same shape as the ones in the throne room. Her eyes drifted from the glass to the center of the room which there stood a round oak table. I was large enough to seat 30 comfortably but still left enough room to walk around the room without feeling cramped. That could have been from the room itself which could have been its own house if the princesses allowed it. There was a painting on the ceiling but as most memories go there are some details that are easier to remember than others and in this case the painting now appeared as a blur on the ceiling. Twilight looked at the table to see both princess looking at her. A stoic look on Luna's face and a tiny smile on Celestia's.
"Good morning Twilight we are so glad you could make it," Celestia was the first to speak. "Please have a seat and we will begin the discussion."
Twilight quickly sat down lifting her chair to pull closer to the table, Rarity's lessons had really paid off. "What is it that you wish to discuss princess?" Twilight began, "has Chrysalis infiltrated Canterlot and hiding among the citizens? Or has Discord changed his mind and now plans to take over Equestria! Or Sombra does it have to do with Sombra?"
Both princess looked at one another then back at Twilight before Celestia cleared her throat, "no, no, and...in a way but the real reason is we wish to tell you a story." Twilight sat a moment staring a both princess in confusion, "A...story?" Both princesses nodded to her question. "What kind of story?"
"A story that may seem trivial now but you may need to know it in the future my most faithful student, as for what kind of story, it is a story of how Equestria as you know it came to be."
The Equestrian History: The Reckoning
The young man sat on a box far away from the open curtains as possible. Soon they would call him to come forth and claim his award for the great things he had done. He sat there staring down at all his notes, everything that had brought him and the people out there a new way of life.
Day 523
I believe I have finally done it! my research has proven that there are in fact three types of gene compounds located in the blood that grant others a certain ability! I have decided to name this Molecular alleles gene compound. I have now dubbed this the MAGIC project because if I were to pass up the chance of irony I would not be a scientist. As I have said, there are three types of Magic as far as my research as shown me so I will begin working on devices to increase the strength of these genes. I can only hope that these devices will release the genes from dormancy and help the human race reach our full potential.
He stared at his note smiling. He shifted through the notes he held now focusing on one closer to the bottom of the pile
Day 764
My very hand trembles as I write this I figure I most right something so they remember how the progress of the machines went. Nearly three years on this project and we have come so far it is fascinating really! I was asked a question I found humorous today. A woman walked up to me and asked what MAGIC stood for and I simply told her the future. I still have to smile at that annoyed face she gave me as I laughed. Well anyways what she really wanted to know what the "I" in MAGIC stood for. I gave her the best definition of what the "I" stood for, it stood for "I" made the acronym so "I" choose the letters. She must not have liked that answer either for she throw up her hands and stormed off. I honestly hope mother does not expect grandchildren soon because the pace I am going she would have a better chance of finding a special someone before me. Well this journal entry has become more of my life's story than that of the actually project but I think it is good I have not become completely obsessed with my work. I will say we have managed to get one of the gene machines to function properly with more than one human. They managed to stay airborne for about three minutes before passing out, clearly the project needs more work other than that I have high hopes we will have the other two done in a few more months.
He shook his head chuckling under his breath. He was so naive back then. Moonblade, the girl from his previous note, was now setting in the first row of that audience out there with child, his child! He let out a heavy sigh looking through more of the notes. Things certainly do change.
Day 934
I am cursed it seems. My current wife stuck overseeing MY project, if she changes the name I swear I will never forgive her. I doubt she would do it but still! I am stuck here at the castle teaching the kings daughter the fundamentals of science! His most successful scientist assigned to teach this young girl something I learned...around her age. It is not as bad as I make it out to be though. She seems to grasp it quite well actually. I just wish I knew why the king was so intent on her learning at this age.
He stared at the note. That young girl was probably the reason he was talked into having kids of his own by Moonblade. 'That little girl will be the end of me,' he thought to himself chuckling.
"Ladies and gentlemen may I now introduce you to the man himself, the greatest creator of our time-" He got up from his seat that was his cue. He stuffed his notes into his coat pocket "The mad scientist himself!" He chuckled at this statement as did a few other members of the audience. He had been referred as that so much these past few years the man threw his arm out toward the direction of the curtain. "Ladies and gentlemen, the great Professor Starswirled himself!"
