Sombra is a cruel leader, forcing the crystal ponies in to hard work and labor. He was defeated. He returned years later, only to be defeated again. Now he finds himself lower than a commoner.

Scootaloo is alone. Friends and her "sister" keep those thoughts locked away, but should she go even a little while without them, the feeling returns. With no family, she has no pony who will truly, always be there for her.

With this emptiness in her heart, Sombra takes this as an opportunity to use Scootaloo as a pawn, using her to gain his rule again, and once more have the entire Crystal Empire in his hoof, but what he finds while this plan is in action is what he least expected.

Will Scootaloo succumb to his dark illusions, or will she be able to fight it and save not only her friends, but herself?
