Suddenly, I was turned on... suddenly; I could see... suddenly, I could hear... suddenly I just... existed. I spoke without thought,
"I am GMD #1.08; I will travel to Equestria and bring science to them."
"Good..." spoke mother, how did I know she was mother? I just sort of... did... "Now, proceed to your portal and begin your mission, once you arrive, your personality simulation will activate. Am I clear?"
Me and my sisters spoke in unison,
"Yes GLaDOS."
"Good."
I turned and faced my portal, pink; my thought process began a self-check
'Pink:' a small voice said in my processor 'noun: color, white and red, example: the companion cube has a pink heart.'
"Now proceed" mother spoke
I walked forward, the world rushed by.
"OW!" I yelped, simulated pain coming from my back. Nanobots rushed to repair the wound.
I surveyed my surroundings. A mountain... something lay in the distance, a small village.
'Beginning re-assembly to native form.' spoke the voice.
I shut down. When I reactivated, I would be re-built, in a native equestrian form. My vision was blacked by an overlay;
'Shut down in... Three... two... on-'
The world went dark
Fluttershy was on her way to the field where she had let the bunnies have their babies, when she stopped dead in her tracks. There on the hill, lay a figure. A white pony, with grey highlights. She gasped. Was this pony dead? Did they need her help? Were they in trouble? What if they were a criminal?
"Criminal or not," she thought "that pony needs help"
she slowly trotted up to the pony... a mare... an earth pony... cutie-mark... an odd black swirly thing with an 'A' in the center... that was a mystery for another day.
"Excuse mam...? C-can you hear me?"
She lightly tapped the mare with her hoof. She stayed still. She rolled her over. The grass beneath her was red and sticky. Definitively hurt. Fluttershy draped her over her back. She was HEAVY.
The journey back to the cottage was slow. But when they got there, she dumped her onto the couch. She needed help... she needed her friends.
"Now, what’s all the commotion 'bout hunny? I got things to do."
"Oh... i-i'm sorry, it’s just... well... I found this mare out in the middle of no ware, she's hurt real bad, a-and I was hoping you guys could... help?"
"Fluttershy," twilight said, "of course we will help you, and now where is this mare?"
She led them to the mare. There was a series of gasps.
"Oh... OH! I know just what to do! I grabbed my pack in the rush to get here! I think I have a potion or two in here..."
She pulled out a sparkling vial of red liquid. She poured it into the mares’ mouth. They waited a few seconds, and then she opened her eyes.
I opened my eyes to find six ponies of various colors looking at me. I looked around for a moment. Then I got a vital report:
'WARNING 10% of blood simulating Nanobots have been drained.'
An equestrian vocabulary began to download. My emotion simulation booted. Simulated fear spread.
"What the buck?!?! Where the hey am I!?!?"
My processors whirred madly in my ears, trying to process my situation.
"Shhhhh, calm... it’s okay, you were hurt, so we helped you"
My processors slowed, that I under stood... but fear still held me tight. Perhaps my emotions worked a little too well. Something snapped, and things went dark again.
"Oh no! Not again! We need help!"
It was tough helping Her It's not every day you have a bloody sick mare on your couch.
Now... She just needed time. And a little help. It's a good thing they were there.
Celestia sat at her desk, important documents layed strewn across the table. She couldn't focus... something was wrong. She could feel it. But what?
There was an evil presence. She could feel it. Something... something that didn't belong. Not in equestria. Not on their planet. Not in their universe. Something not alive, yet living.
"Tia? Are you ok?" Luna had entered the room, unnoticed by her sister.
"Huh? Oh, i-its nothing."
"You feel it too?"
-sigh- "I'm afraid so."
"I..."
"What is it?"
"I've sensed this presence before. Not quite the same but very similar."
"When?"
"While I was on the moon. There was a brilliant blue light, then screaming. Then something round shot across the sky, and as fast as it had appeared, the light disappeared."
"And this presence?"
"There was a voice, a metalic voice. I couldn't make it out, but it was there for sure."
"Perhaps this is the same?"
"Perhaps sister... just perhaps."
The white and black mare awoke again, this time she was alone. It was night. Her glowing yellow eyes pierced the darkness. She shifted slightly, then realized she was not alone. Two blue eyes cut the dark like a test subject walking into a lazer. Then he spoke.
"Ello luv, miss me?"
He wrapped a cloth around her mouth. Her screams were only softly muffled noises.
APERTURE LABORATORIES:
"Warning! GMD #'s 1.05, 1.03, and 1.08 have lost communication!"
This was bad. Very very bad.
"Warning! GMD #1.01 has lost communication!"
There was a problem.
"What is taking out all my droids!?"
There was an incoming transmition.
"Ello Ms. Bloody Fucking Science, remember me? I sure hope so."
"Yoooooouu!" she stared in hatred. He was still alive. He had WMD's. He was... Wheatley.
"By now my droids have taken out all of yours."
"What do you want moron!?"
"I'm not a moron! And what I want is power, control, your optic on a silver plater, the list goes on and on."
This was bad.
"Fluttershy!?!? Are you in there!" twilight knocked on the door and it swung open. The place was a mess; broken china, things scattered across the floor, several pieces of furniture were separated from being a whole thing, but it was hard to tell the sofa bits from the chair bits.
"Oh my... why this is a terrible mess! What in Equestria happened?" Rarity, who was slightly upset due to the fact that one of the dressed she had given Fluttershy, lay on the floor in tatters.
"Wait... did ya see that!"
"What is it AJ?" asked Rainbow
"Ah swear ah saw something movin' behind the couch, it was- there it is again!"
Slowly they walked over to it, they peeked behind the couch and-
"EEK! OHMYGOSHPLEASEDONTKILLMEIDIDINTSEEANYTHINGISWEAR! I- oh... oh it’s you"
"Fluttershy!" exclaimed five very relieved ponies.
"What happened to this place 'shy?" Rainbow asked
"W-well, I heard a noise, well lots of noises, and i heard stuff breaking, so i went to look and...And...And..."
"What? What is it darling?" Rarity felt as if she was in a drama TV show (of which she watched many)
"THEY TOOK HER!"
"...why would someone want to take an injured mare?" twilight wondered aloud
"i don’t know," rainbow started to hover an inch or so off the floor ", but i say we find 'em and teach 'em a lesson!"
Rebooting...
Initializing startup routine
Activate internal processor
One moment...
Power on in... 3... 2...1...
I opened my shutters and sat up, i had been lying on the floor looked around, optics adjusting to filter the dim light that reached them.
I looked around, a saw, what my main processer told me was a test, and my logic processer told me was a make-shift prison.
I could make out the shapes of seven other figures, of various types; my recognition program informed me that it was GMD's 1.01-1.07
"Ah, finialy, our last little droid awakes." a voice said from above.
I looked up and saw those blue eyes.
"Where are we?" asked GMD 1.05
"Oh, it’s a little place formerly known as the aperture science space station."
So, we were in space... well that’s certainly not what i would have expected
The six girls looked in confusion at the wall of Fluttershy’s basement, which had been painted with an odd white substance. But it was not the paint, or the wall, but what was on it.
"What... is this?" twilight said, looking at the odd blue ring on the wall
"Well, it's certainly not a closet, that’s for sure." rarity said
"Hey guys," dash said, looking at the floor whoever the pony was, she was still bleeding when they took her, look"
Shure enough, every few inches, there was a drop of blood.
"Good work rainbow dash!" twilight said, "It looks like they went through this thing..."
"So, who wants to go through it first?" rarity said, obviously not wanting any part of it until she knew it was safe.
"I'll do it." apple jack said.
She took a deep breath and stepped through the portal.
GLaDOS sat alone in her chamber. Feeling odd, she searched for a cure to her feeling ill
*electronic sigh* "an infinite amount of cloned test subjects... no more Chell... no more mourn... no more Caroline... if I didn't know any better, I’d say... I was lonely..."
the events of the past months were history (Portal2 spoiler-alert) Wheatley was trapped in space, Chell, most likely being eaten by the zombies created by black mesa (she’s the one who wanted to leave so badly)
"Perhaps..." GLaDOS thought out loud "I am not lonely... but... but I feel... trapped" trapped... the word echoed around in the room.
She considered her situation... then she was struck with an idea, portals, if the correct amount of readjusting to their frequency could be achieved, would go from quantum space holes, to interdimentianal links. In laments terms; doors to a new world.
In a matter of days, she had constructed 8 glorious droids, and eight portals: blue, orange, green, red, yellow, black, white, and pink, and GMD #'s 1.01-1.08, each with an assigned portal. Upon activation, each was to strait their mission, and then proceed to their portal.
She started the first droid
The power was activated, there was a whirr, a sputter then the first Droid was on.
"I am GMD #1.01" stated the first "I will travel to Erutrepa and record data."
"I am GMD #1.02, I will travel to Entidia a, and bring back alien samples."
"I am GMD #1.03; I will travel to artiles and research regeneration."
And so on
Finialy, the moment of truth, the eighth, and finial droid, GMD #1.08.
The power was activated, there was a whirr, a sputter, and then she turned on.
