Life Is Like a Flow

Chapter 1

Its been about 10 years after the War against the griffons. Celestia’s army was wiped out in the process, but the Lunar army stood tall and proud. What made the Lunar army so strong was their 2 commanders.This is the story of one those commanders, days after the war.

???- five days after victory

        It was morning, Celestia’s sun stood proud over the horizon. There could  galloping heard from inside the Lunar barracks. Inside the barracks, a neon-blue unicorn could be heard yelling at the soldiers to double-time. It was days after the war against the griffons and this was one of the barracks established during the war. This was also the barracks including the commanders.

        This barrack was known as the central command for the Lunar army. The current commander on duty was Surplus Flow, one of the top most dangerous unicorn in all known history. His 2nd in command is the son of Princess Luna, Prince and commander Penn Sill.

        Today, the barrack is being taken down because there is no more use for it. The unicorns are loading the mountain load of files and documents into caravans. The earth ponies are busy boarding up the empty rooms. The pegasi are patrolling and clearing the sky. It was going to be a one and a half day march back to Canterlot.

        As the last room was boarded up, the last pile of paperwork loaded into the caravan, and the last apple eaten, the battalion was ready to join with the rest of the Lunar army on their trek back to Canterlot. On how the 4 generals took charge of the various Lunar regiments was quite simple.

        Since Surplus is one of the top most strongest unicorns, he could teleport an entire regiment of soldiers without breaking a sweat. It sounded OP but it always took a toll on him in the mornings. For example, headaches and migraines would also be what he felt after doing a plethora of very complex spells. He would teleport the 3 generals and himself to the various regiments of the Lunar regiments.

        There was going to be a large celebration for the Lunar army but followed after that was going to be the mourning of the Royal army.

Canterlot Castle- 2 days later

“Get those files into the the vault. And you, what in Celestia’s name are you doing!”

        You had such a headache right now. Now I wish I hadn’t teleported those hydras out of our path You were currently walking back to your office in the castle.

        As you near your small office you look at the dusty door. Damn, you really need to clean your office. There on the middle of the door lies a small golden plaque.

Commander Surplus Flow

You never thought the day you would be in charge of the Lunar army. You silently chuckle as you open the door. The smell of scotch enters your nose. Inside your office is a desk with a swivel chair with cabinets on the side. You flick on the lights and walk over to one of the cabinets on the wall and open it, there lays a bottle with 2 glasses next to it. You pop open the bottle and pour yourself a drink.

        You trot back to your desk and plop on your swivel chair. You take sip of your liquor, the burn is relaxing as you close your eyes. On the desk to your left is a picture that proudly shows you, your parents, and your sister, River Flow.

        Vacation, no doubt that was on your mind. You always wanted to buy a vacation house and lounge around. Looks like a good time too, the war is over, and you got a great deal on a 2 story house in some small town called Ponyville. You finish off your drink and pour another. You quickly finish and put the glass and bottle back in its hidey box. You lie back on your chair. A nap feels nice right about now.

Ponyville Townhall- 3 days later

        You walk into the Ponyville’s Town Hall carrying a suitcase. The suitcase carried your family photo, a toothbrush, a sombrero, and your Lunar guard rank. You near the reception desk and ask for your keys. The receptionist hoofs over 2 keys, a spare you suppose. You take it and stash it in your sombrero. You say your goodbye and walk into Ponyville.

        All around you as you trot to your destination is peaceful, the foals are playing, the mares are gossiping, and the stallions are working. So peaceful yet so vulnerable. As your trot comes to an end, you look up at your house. It was a 2 story house with a new coat of green paint. You take out one of the keys hidden in your sombrero and insert it into the keyhole and hear the satisfying click of the door opening.

        As you enter, you look around, the first floor has the kitchen on the left, the living room in front of you, and a study on your right. The door closes behind you as you walk up the stairs in the living room, on the second floor is a restroom and 2 rooms. you open the room on your left, in the room is a queen sized bed with a cabinet and mirror. You set your suitcase down including your sombrero. Guess its time to meet the locals, got time to waste until nightfall.

Before you left the room you inspected yourself in the mirror. In the mirror stood a stallion with a neon-blue coat. His mane is a dark blue, his tail also had the same color as his mane.

His cutie mark or emblem as the other Lunar guards had called it, was a 4 tip spiral with a blue ball with 3 rings around it, surrounding the spiral are 4 stars. It was a very unique cutie mark that the Flow family all bear.

You had earned your cutie mark when you had executed several complex spells that would’ve taken a normal unicorn a large amount of magic. The Flows had always been the greatest magic users stating back from Starswirl the Bearded.

As you start your way out of your new vacation house, you are greeted by a pink mare with very poofy hair. Her cutie mark is 3 balloons. Celestia’s mane for whatever her  cutie mark ment.

“Hey are you new cause I know everypony in Ponyville, wait a minute!”

One second she was there the other she was gone. As you try to wrap your head around this, a orange mare with a stetson slowly trots up to you and says.

“Try not thin’ too much of it sugarcube, pinkie jus’ likes to throw parties for new folk”

Huh, as you teleport a map of Ponyville out of nowhere, you start looking for a nice to place to settle down. As you skim the map, your eye catches the Golden Oaks Library. Might as well relax by reading, so you start your trot towards the library as you teleport the map to Luna knows where. This day might be boring but that doesn’t matter, the war has taken a toll out of you, just gotta relax and stay sane.
