Life Is Like a Flow

Chapter 2

        As your trot comes to an end, you look up at the massive tree that was suppose to be the Golden Oaks Library. As you open the door in the tree, a bell rung. You look around the shelves full of books. Reminds you of the time you were a great Lunar mage teaching some apprentices. How you would test their abilities, and how you would help them when they think they are failures. The good old times where you were just a teacher.

        As you walk towards one of the shelves, you could hear hoof steps behind you. You turn around and come face to face with a purple mare. You, as the gentlecolt you are say.

        “Good afternoon miss.”

        “Good afternoon to you sir, my name is Twilight Sparkle, what may I help you with?”

        “My name is Surplus Flow and I’m just picking out a book.”

        “Do you have any preferences mister Surplus?”

        “Well, I do have a knack for adventure stories I suppose.”

        Twilight just smiles as she looks around for a book, then she levitates 5 books out from the shelf across the room. She hands over the book to you. You look at her curiously as you use your magic and set the books on the floor. Twilight justs stands there waiting for me to do something.

        I teleported a satchel that I enchanted with a weight cancelling spell on my back. It felt like a cloud was on my back. Then I levitated the 5 books into the left side of my satchel. I was about to leave when I turned my head and said.

        “Have a nice day miss Twilight”

        As you walk out of the library, it eerily silent, like a ghost town. You shudder at that thought and pull out your map. Lets see, Sugarcube Corner, Sweet Apple Acres, Carousel Boutique, Ponyville Schoolhouse, and Day Spa You decide to go to Sugarcube Corner. Your belly starts to rumble, you chuckle, yeah a cupcake or 2 might be nice.

You start your way towards Sugarcube Corner taking the scenic route and admiring what the view had to offer. Yeah I could teleport there, but where was the fun it that. You pass the Sofa and Quills store, strange indeed, wonder if there was a Chair and Ink store also. You chuckle at that thought in your head.

As you pass the locals some greet you or wave at you, you wave at them back or have shot chit chats with them. You spot a store made out of treats, then you look at the sign.

Sugarcube Corner

Wow, never thought it would be this decorated. You open the door and walk inside, you smelled cupcakes, and cakes, and assortments of all kind. But it was dark inside, you make a light orb but was you do this, the lights turn on.

“SUPRISE”

But as they said that, you had already deployed multiple shields around you. Then you glare at all the ponies gathered in the shop. You see a banner saying Welcome To PonyVille New Pony That I Don’t Know and then it all hits you. Duh, this is a party probably that pinkie pony from earlier. You take down your shields and walk over to a table full of goodies. The ponies around you disregard it and continue on with the party.

You take levitated the ladle and a cup and pour yourself some punch. Grape, definitely grape as you take a sip out of your drink. As you finish off your cup a group of ponies approach you. A white pony with an elegant mane comes forward and greets me.

“Hello my name is Rarity, what would be yours?”

“My name is Surplus Flow madame.”

“Ooh what a gentlecolt.”

She giggles as you walks away to another group of ponies. As you return your attention to the group in front of you a cyan pegasus with a rainbow mane flies up to you and says.

“My names Rainbow Dash, fastest flyer in Equestria.”

OH we got a tomboy here, you’ve met a couple of tomboys when you had been reinstated as a drill sergeant back in the days after your teaching years. 3 more ponies come up and greet you.

“Names Applejack, say weren’t you tht’ pony earlier?”

“Yes”

“Well see ya around”

Applejack walks away to get more grape punch.

“I’m Pinkie Pie, you're the new pony, well I threw this party just for you!”

Pinkie smiles as you hear a squee come out of here. Damn these ponies are crazier than a pair of diamond dogs fighting over a piece of gem.

“We met before, I’m Twilight Sparkle.”

“Yes, I still have those books you gave me.”

“Anyways, I want to know about you where are you from, what do you do?”

“Well, I’m from Canterlot, I have unicorn parents and a little sister, and I am the personal guard and teacher of Prince Penn Sill”

“Wow, you must really close to the Royal family”

“Yes I am, but I am also the commander of the Lunar army, never thought of the day I would be a commander. I was nothing more than a Royal Lunar mage, a teacher, and a drill sergeant. I didn’t think the griffons wanted to fight us, but in the end we fought them.”

You sigh as you think about all those terrible memories fighting the griffons.

“I’m sorry, I never thought about it like that.”

“Well can you say my thanks to Pinkie for throwing a party for me.”

As you say your goodbyes, you go and eat some cupcakes, socialize, and maybe play a game of darts against some pony. As the day nears it end, the party starts to dissipate and only about a dozen or so ponies are left. You say your goodbyes as you leave the store. It was dark outside as you hurried your way back to your house. You take out your key and open the door.

You close the door behind you as you make your way towards your bedroom. You take out your toothbrush and you brush your teeth. As you make your way onto your bed, you thought about your family. What was River doing, how are my parents faring. You close your eyes as you dream about surfing on a giant wave while being cheered on by the fellow surfers.
