The morning after

Chapter 1 – What Happened?

Fluttershy was starting to wake up as usual to the sun in her eyes ready to get out of bed and feed her animals, but there was something different about the way she woke up today, she woke up snuggling into what seemed to be a very comfortable cyan coloured pony.

“R…Rainbow…Dash! What are you doing in my bed?” Fluttershy screamed to the best of her ability but not very successfully.

“Er….Flut…Fluttershy? I could as you the same question.” Rainbow looked around the room to check that it was actually her room and her suspicions were correct it was her room and it didn’t look so clean, there were empty wine bottled and Apple Jack Daniels. Pegasus ponies were known for their light-weighted-ness as the two mares just found out.

*The night before*

“Hurry up Fluttershy, we are going to be late…..again” Rainbow said quite angrily.

“Sorry Rainbow but I have to look perfect for dinner with the others, I’m sure they will look wonderful” Fluttershy was getting into the dress Rarity made her for the Grand Galloping Gala but was also trying to do it to Rarity’s high standards.

“You look great but we can’t all redo our dress’s to the way they were when we went to the Grand Galloping Gala.” Rainbow was starting to get more aggressive each time she spoke. Rainbow was also in her dress that she wore to the Grand Galloping Gala and it was obvious that she put it on in a rush.

“Ok, I think I’m ready.” Fluttershy was ready but it was too late because they were late once again.

“Good. Now let’s go, we are late…again” Rainbow was ready to take off to the sky only to remember that her friend was not the best of fliers and decided to keep her hooves on the ground.

“Ok, let’s go before everypony thinks that we are not coming to meet them.” Fluttershy started to look a little more nervous than usual.

They both galloped out the door of Fluttershys cottage and towards Sugar Cube Corner where everypony else was waiting chatting to one another.

“When do you think they will arrive?”

“I don’t know Twilight but hey were late last time too, Fluttershy must be fussing over her dress again poor darling, I shall have to teach her someday at the Boutique.”

“Do you think they’re still coming Twi’?”

“I don’t think they wouldn’t turn up without letting us know before the time we arranged.” Twilight looks up to the clock tower.

“They are only 5 minutes late, they will be here soon”

“We’re here, sorry we are late, someone was fussing over their dress again” Rainbow looks over to Fluttershy

“Well we are all here now so we should get going to the restaurant. Rarity you know where to go don’t you?”

“In deed I do darling, Follow me.” Rarity walks up the street that the market is normal in but since it was quite late at night there was just the town drunks on the street.

They arrived outside of the fancy restaurant and it was obvious that it was for the rich ponies to spend all of their cash.

“Why here Rarity? Why chose the place with the snobbiest of ponies in it?” Rainbow said a little too loud turning a few heads from the patio outside of the restaurant.

“Well Rainbow my dear if you must know I come here all the time for my lunch and it happens to be the best place to dine in style close to us.” Rarity said giving Rainbow a very scolding look.

“I guess we better go inside be..before it gets to..oo late.” Fluttershy nervously stuttered.

“Your right Fluttershy we should get inside” Twilight was the first on to enter the fancy restaurant turning heads of all the posh ponies with her wings and horn indication that she is a princess. The other five followed her to the table in the corner of the room.

“So what is it that we are here for again? Because this place isn’t as lively as our normal dining locations.” Pinkie didn’t sound too pleased about the restaurant not having fast paced music, balloons and streamers.

“Well actually, there is nothing happening. That’s the whole point, it seems like the only time we are all together is when there is something threating all of equestrian. So I thought we should go out when there isn’t anything that requires us to fight.” Twilight looked around the table at the smiling faces of their friends.

“So what should we have to drink girls? Maybe some Apple Jack Daniels and some wine for Rarity?” Rainbow started to giggle at Rarity grinning as if she was planning something evil.” And I really shouldn’t have too much to drink, I’m a bit of a light weight when it comes to it.”

“But Rainbow I thought you were a dare devil that was always looking for a challenge, oh well, looks like I will have to take my shot challenge to somepony else” Rarity gave Rainbow a look that said ‘You’re going to accept my challenge or you will look like a fool’.

“You’re on! First to 10 Shots” Rainbow walked over to the bar that was situated in the middle of the restaurant and asked for 20 shots of Apple Jack Daniels and returned with all 20 still perfectly aligned for their little challenge.

“Girls we should really wait for the fo…” Twilight was rudely cut off by Rainbow

“No, we can have food after we’ve had our shots. Ready Rarity?” Rainbow gave Rarity an evil look.

“Oh yes i am. Oh sweet Celestia, what have i got myself into” Rarity drank the first 3 slowly but then began to catch up with Rainbow who was already starting to lose her balance.

“I always thought you were the formal one Rarity but I guess we can’t be right all the time” Rainbow continued down her line of shots until she got to the end of them just before Rarity did. ”I knew I would win. IN YOUR FACE!” Rainbow began to stumble but caught herself in the safety of the chair. Rainbow has always been a bit of a boast when it comes to winning but everypony didnt really notice it since they had been around her for so long.

“Ok, I guess we should order food” Twilight handed everypony an overpriced menu.
