In an effort to save time I suggest we jump ahead a few years. Rainbow Dash and I are close friends at this point in time and hang out nearly everyday. This is when I felt more than just a friendly attraction towards her. I wasn't completely in love with her yet, but I was crushing on her.

One day we were just hanging out, I was watching her do some tricks up in the sky whilst sitting on a cloud. Then, I got my chance to prove myself to her. A couple of idiots from flight school showed up. It was Billy and his goons.

"Ha! Don't go to fast Rainbow Crash! You might hurt yourself!"

His "minions" laughed at this remark.

"Hey Billy, how bout you take your insecurities elsewhere and leave Rainbow Dash alone."

"Oh look what we got here! Reflex is defending Rainbow Crash, whats the matter Flexy? Upset because we're just messin' around with your girlfriend?" Billy Taunted me.

"She's not my girlfriend! And what did I say about calling me Flexy!" I yelled, now becoming angry. "Although I do wish she was my girlfriend." I thought to myself. Rainbow Dash noticed that tensions were rising and flew over to try and stop everything before it got, out of hoof.

"Hey, Billy! Get the buck out of here and leave Reflex alone!" Rainbow Dash yelled, trying to stop the problem before it escalated.

"Oh, so now you're defending your boyfriend aren't ya Rainbow Crash?" Billy said insultingly. At this point I was done with him, I gently moved Rainbow out of my way and with one swing. A fight broke out. I kicked, punched, and bucked as hard as I could. In the end, I left away with bruises, but Billy left with a broken snout.

Rainbow Dash was walking with me back to my house.

"You didn't have to do that back there, Reflex." She said, looking at me with concerned eyes.

I looked at her, and we made eye contact. Her burgundy eyes looked beautiful in the moonlight, her light blue coat shining like a star in the sky. Dammit, she looked so beautiful.

"I was standing up for you." I said, with a bit of a depressed tone in my voice now.

"But you didn't need to, I've dealt with Billy and his stupid insults my whole life, you saw it back in flight school." She said, putting her hoof on my shoulder.

"Dash, we've been friends since we were little fillies. I just can't stand seeing you get picked on by that little prick." I said as I looked into her eyes.

I could tell that she was upset about the encounter with Billy earlier, she was beginning to tear up.

"Hey, Dash? Are you ok?" I asked, now with a concerned tone in my voice. I tried to look at her face but before I got the chance, she almost threw herself at me, embracing me in a hug. I was taken by surprise but, I quickly returned the embrace. In that moment, I knew my prayers were being answered.
