A Love For Bass and Rainbows

I had made a few changes to the song, instead of it being a Dubstep track I decided to change it to Minimal Electro. I had some nice synths laid out perfectly, with pauses, claps n' shit, you know the usual stuff you'd hear in an EDM track. I was excited, yet nervous as hell, to show her the song. I was excited because I hoped it would help me win her back, I was nervous because I was afraid she'd think I was desperate. Admittedly, I kind of was. I mean look at me! I was willing to give up one of my best songs just to have a chance to be with her. Is that desperate, or just showing a lot of love?

Well, I was gonna be late if I didn't hurry the hell up! I popped in my earbuds, set my iTrot to play Hayfire by Colt Party. I love their music, it has such an awesome feel to it! Anyways, the reggae/dubstep track began playing and I took to the skies. I spread my wings and took off like a bullet. I wasn't nearly as fast as Dash, no not by a long shot, but I could still go pretty damn fast when needed. Whenever me and Dash flew together, she would stay at an even pace with me. At the thought of the old times we had, I felt a tear in my eye. I quickly wiped it away before I started breaking down.

I finally reached sugarcube corner and landed with a bit of a thud. I was out of my element today, so to speak, so I didn't really care about landing properly. When I landed I looked around. No sign of Dash, or Soarin.

"Friggin' great!" I said with a sigh. They were nowhere to be found at sugarcube corner, so that means that they're probably off kissing in a back alley or some shit. At the thought of this I became angry, then I reminded myself that it's not my choice who she does, and doesn't date. I quickly calmed myself down, right as Dash and Soarin came around the corner. "Time to get on with this shit, I pray to Celestia that this works!" I said to myself as I walked over towards Dash and Soarin.

"Hey, Reflex!" Rainbow Dash said as she waved me over to her. She looked extremely happy today. I knew something was up, and I had no plans on finding out. I was here to win her back, not intrude on whatever the hell happened before they arrived.

"Hey, Dash." I said as I walked over to brohoof her. I had to wait for just the right moment to show her the song and confess. I should probably do it when Soarin isn't around to stop the whole thing. I was not sure how to tell her, should I just come out and say "I love you Rainbow Dash, I always have?" No, no… She doesn't like sappy things. But this song, might, I repeat MIGHT soften her up. I made it so it's happy yet aggressive just like her personality.

"Hey babe, I'm gonna go get some cupcakes, I know what you want, what do you want Reflex?" Soarin asked me. My anger was gonna get the better of me, I had to control it… I simply replied,

"Nothing I'm good, thank you for the offer." With that, he trotted off. This is my only chance. I have to act NOW! It's now or never. "Ok, ok, breathe Reflex, you got this" I told myself, trying to boost my confidence. I took a deep breath.

"Uh, hey Dash?" I asked nervously, god I sounded like Fluttershy! I might've just ruined my chances! She looked at me, once again, her eyes. God damn they were beautiful.

"What's up Reflex?" She asked, still with a happy tone in her voice. That's another thing I love about her, her voice. It's so damn cute how it cracks like every 5 seconds.

"I made something for you, and I want you to listen to this." I said, pulling out my iTrot and selecting the song I made for her.

"Uh, alright! I love your music!" She said with an extremely happy tone in her voice. The song began playing, starting out with some upbeat, happy synths and a backing guitar, it then stopped and the main synth lead echoed and right before everything was completely silent, a clap rang out and the song played through. Now was the moment of truth, time to confess. I took her hoof in mine and looked into her eyes. She didn't resist when I grabbed her hoof.

"Dash, I have something to tell you. Since we graduated flight school, I started feeling something for you," I said, I could see her emotion changing, and what looked like tears welling up in her eyes. "ever since that day, that fateful, amazing day, when I held you in my arms. I began to love you." I continued, starting to form tears in my own eyes. "When you called me, telling me you were dating Soarin, I was heartbroken. I made you this song, to show how much I love you." We were both crying now, I was crying from sorrow, she, appeared to be happy. I looked down at the ground. I sighed heavily, "I've wanted to be with you for so long now, I just never knew how to tell you." I looked down at the ground as I said this, for I feared this was not working.

I looked up and she practically jumped into my arms, again. I was surprised, I thought this wasn't going to work. I looked her in her, bright, beautiful, magenta eyes. Then, she spoke.

"Oh, Reflex, I… I love you to!" She said, and with that, she kissed me full on the lips, it felt like forever, and I loved it. Soarin came back and saw what was going on. Here's when things went, well, bad.

"Hey! What the hell do you think you're doing with my girl!" He yell angrily as he threw the cupcakes on the floor. He began to approach me, he was ready for a fight, and so was I. But before I could swing, Dashie, spoke up.

"I'm not your girl anymore Soarin!" She said in a bit of an angry tone. Something tells me they were having relationship problems.

"I saw you flirting with those other mares! I'm not blind!" She continued, getting angrier with every word. "You don't treat me as good as Reflex! He treated me like a princess and we weren't even dating! I love him more than I'll ever love you! I loved him before I even knew you!" When I heard that, my heart flew so high, it almost exploded out of my chest.

"She…. She loves me, and she always has!" I thought to myself. Dash finished telling Soarin off, he gave me the "middle feather" and I returned the favor. I honestly didn't care, because now, Dash was mine.

We flew back to my house where we laid down, and I held her in my arms, the whole night.

When we woke up the next morning we went outside and Dashie flew up and landed on a cloud. She beckoned me over, lovingly.

"Come here you." She said with a playful tone in her voice. This was just like the dream I had, and now I was about to make it a reality! I was so happy I nearly lost balance when I tried to take off! I flew up, and landed in front of her. She grabbed my hooves and held them in hers, we looked into each others eyes, and once again god dammit her eyes, they get me EVERY time.

"You are my beautiful girl, and I will always love you." I said to her, with a loving tone. I was so happy to finally have her, to love and hold, to be mine.

"I… I love you too." Dash said, she began to blush. I looked her in the eyes, and went in, and kissed her, I held it there for a while. I pulled away, we looked lovingly into each others eyes and nuzzled each other. Then, we fell asleep in each others arms on the cloud.
