Chapters Sit. A special changeling
It's been a few days now. Sit hid in a body of a dead changeling. He watched how a small swarm of drones flew past him. As they were out of sight he leaves the body. It didn't take him long to figure out how his abillity works.
When he relaxed his entire body he was able to become fluid. He was able to move in that form and even enter bodies or other things. But he found out that he still felt pain even if he didn't really take any danage. if he gets seperated he could easily gather again but it hurt as if that part of him got cut off. The pain was even worse when he entered something. It was like pressing himself into a much to small room and as if his entire body gets crushed. Butit was his only way to survive.
He was a little smaller as his brothers and much weaker. also he had no wings and no horn. But what was worst... He wasn't able to transform. From his instincts he knew taht he should be able to transform his body into anything he desires, but as he tried nothing happened. After a few tries he gave up.
The following days were even worse. He saw how groups of older changleings flew around and killed each other. If one of them got killed they accepted teh murderer into their group and continued their mercyless work.
He was hungry. Since he was born he didn't eat anything. He knew that he had to feed on love. His instincts told him that much. He also knew that there were sleeping prisoners in the upper levels of the hive that were captured to let the changelings feed of their love as they dreamed about their closest ones. But to get up there he needed a disguise. Just the stronger ones were allowed to enter there and even they got attacked sometimes. But if he would not go up there he would starve. So he made a plan.
He knew that he could enter dead bodies and also move with them a little but that wont be enough he feared. He needed a living one. But how would he able to get one? Sit decided to remain silent until an oportunity would appear. But the longer he waited the weaker he got. He needed to act and that soon. So he gave up his safe plan to wait until an oportunity appeared and decided to make his own.
As a small group of really big drones flew by he moved a body a little. One of the bigger ones saw it and told his comrades to keep flying and that he can deal with that alone. The pride and the envy of the drones where their biggest weakeness.
As the big one moved around the corner in a small passage Sit dropped down from the ceiling on the head of teh much taller drone. The surprised drone couldn't do anything as Sit became fluid and entered teh cahngelings body through his ears, nose and mouth. He wasn't even able to scream or do anything.
The entire take over didn't even take ten seconds and Sit now was in the head and body of the helpless changeling. He tried to move but the body resisted. Sit cincentrated around the brain and cut it off from the blood circualtion and the host lost his conciousness. Now Sit was able to move. Carefully slow and shaky in the beginning but after a couple of minutes he was able to move freely. But there was one problem. He wasn't able to fly. He thought about the problem and decided to do the only logical thing to explain why he couldn't fly.
He crushed the wings. There wasn't any pain for him but the host regained conciousness again and struggled. Sit put him back to sleep. He then walked back to one of the great halls where most of the changelings spent most of their time.
He was careful not to show any weakness. He wasn't safe. His damaged wings drew the attention of many of the smaller and even some of the bigger changelings but it seemed they knew the one he took over and tehy didn't try to attack him. He passed the hall and took some simple stairs up to the chambers of the imprisoned ponies to get something to eat. he felt really weak but he acted as if he was the strongest.
A small group of drones was infront of the room. Sit pushed teh ones aside taht didn't get away fast enough. teh others ran.
As he entered teh room there were 30 ponies of all kind and gender in the room. all asleep under a spell that forces them to dream of their loved ones. Just the stronger ones were allowed to enter. Well not allowed. but of course everyone aited here to take down the ones who are off guard while feeding on the ponies in there.
Sit walks up to one of the ponies an places the horn of his host against it. He then enters the dream of the pony.
Sit. A special changeling
In the first few seconds Sit didn't realise where he was. Around him were strabge wormed rocks with holes in them.They looked blocky and colorful. for some reasons there were dry grass on top of them. Some plants were growing here and there and it looked like a peaceful place.
Sit started to walk. After he made sure that noone was there he relaxed a little and came to the conclusion that this must be the mind of the pony he wants to feed on.
He didn't expect this to happen. His insticts told him that he needed to be close to a pony to feed on him or her but this was different. He figured it had something to do with the fact that the pony was asleep and that he wasn't in his own body.
A few minutes later he saw movements around him. Shawdows of ponies were running around but as he tried to touch one and it didn't work he stopped paying attention to them.
What can't hit you can't kill you. That was one of the first lessons he learned in live.
As he kept walking the shadows became better to see and slowly looked like actual ponies. He must get closer to the pony who dreamt. As Sit walked further to where the ponies looked more visible and some even sharp and good remarkable he saw the pony whos dream Sit entered. He didn't look the same. He was taller, had an additional par of wings and a long twisted horn but it was appearently taht pony.
He was talking to some mares and they laughed from time to time. But it didn't seem that he liked one of them because after a short time he said goodbye to them and flew away into a direction Sit hasn't explored yet. With some distance, Sit followed that pony to a really, really big rock what appearently were called houses as he heard some of the sourrounding shadow like ponies talking about what a wonderful house that pony had while pointing on the weird construction of towers, halls, and plants in a yellow metal color.
Gold, Sit assumed. He heared about how easy it was to get ponies love with it.
Sit waited a couple of seconds and then entered the house and looked around. Many big and colorful things where on the wall. Most showed the pony he was following and some a beautiful mare in white fabric. Sit also heared about that. Some ponies decide to spent their live together when they love each other. Good for him. Much love to get.
He walked up some corridors with plants, gold, and these colorful things at the wall. Sit thought that this maybe these things have to be the so called paintings. He also heared about them and how ponies do this so called art. A raelly confusing race for sure but they seemed atleast better then his own.
Suddenly there were weird sounds in the air. Sounds Sit never heared before. There was a voice that sounded really good and some other noises that were strange but definetly not unpleasant.
As Sit looked around the corner he was able to see some things flying in the air around the mare he already saw on those paintings. She appearently was the source of the voice and the things around her were the source of the other sounds.
Sit remembered also hearing about this sort of thing. Music and singing. Good singer and musicians also got lots of attention and some even get loved by many, many ponies. So it was something the changelings knew about and that is what Sit heared. He could understand why ponies like this sort of things.
It sounded really nice and a moment Sit even forget his hunger and just listened to it. But then the pony he was after appeared in his field of view. He was smiling and obviously happy to be there with her. That had to be his lov.
Sir tred to get closer. He didn't knew how the pony would react to him or even if he would. So he hid behind some of the plants that were standing around.
"Hey darling. How do you feel?" The mare stopped her singing and the things taht had to be instruments topped playing.
"Oh! Hey. Didn't realise that you got in. I feel great. And what about you honey?" She smiled as he came closer and sat down close to her.
"I feel also great. Another perfect day. I hear taht your music goes good? You sound more beautiful everytime i listen to you" He snuggled his snout in her neck. She giggled "Aww stop it you you sweetmouth."
It went on like that for a couple of minutes and as Sit was sure the pony was totally focused on the mare Sit got closer to feed on the love. As he feeled how he got close enough he greedyly consumed it with all he got. He drank and chewed and made everything he could imagine to get the feeling faster inside him. Then he suddenly sopped.
He never tasted something that gross disturbing and wrong. It was so sweet taht it hurt him and he tried to get it out of him but it was useless.It was in his mouth and body and filled him up with lifesaving enrgy. But also it hurt him.
Sit didn't pay attention anymore on hiding and tried everything to get the taste away and so the pony noticed him. A few seconds he just watched the shaking changeling to shocked to do anything. THen he acted faster then Sit could react. He jumped on him and pressed him down to the ground.
"What does the likes of you do here?! How did you get here?" Sit wasn't able to answer. The stallion was much stronger then he looked like and pinned the small changeling to the ground. Sit tried to get fluid but of course he wasn't able to do it in a dream of someone else.
But then he felt something.
He felt feelings. Fear, hatred, confusion. Normally changeling were able to get a rough idea of what the other one felt when he was close enough but even with direct body contact they were jsut able to fell it a little. But this was completely different. He felt them flowing from the stallion like he did with the love before. Sit didn't thik long and tried if he was able to feed on it.
It worked. It tasted horrible. Bitter, spicey, hot, sour. all together in a taste taht wanted him to vomit but it wasn't as painful gross as the love was. Sit slowly got strengh and the more he fed on the ponies wrath and all the less it became. The that pinned Sit to the ground got weaker, After a couple of seconds Sit was able to escape it and rolled around.
He stod up as fast as he could jsut to see taht the stallion just looked at him with emotionless eyes. Sit took all his anger, all his fear and ate it. Sit could feel how it built up again slowly but that was not a problem anymore.
Sit now got a huge adavantage and he knew it. He smiled bright. The first time in his life.
Sit. A special changeling
Sit was in heaven. Everything around him was just like he wanted. He had food. It tasted horrible but he wasn't starving anymore. Noone tried to kill him. Well atleast noone he couldn't take care of with ease.
Everything was so great for him that he forgot where he actually was. And that was what nearly caused his life.
The problem and danger on entering the actual dream of the pony the changelings feed of is that that they loose sight about what is around them. And that is what the other changelings are waiting for. While Sit and his host were still unconscious some of the smaller changelings from before sneaked up to Sit and the host and as they made sure he was still inside he dream they attacked him.
It was fast and painful. They got him and killed him. They weren't experienced so they didn't bite him in the neck but tried to attack the throath that is protected by flexible plates. But after a couple of seconds the plates just gave in. The host died fast and silent but Sit got ripped out of the dream and felt his own body getting damaged as well.
He needed a couple of seconds before he realsied what was going on. He decided to stay inside the dead body of the host until he was alone but the other changelings didn't stop.
They tried to rip him apart but then another group of changeling appeared. Some of the royal drones. The group of smaller changeling ran away in panic. They knew what will happen if they stay. The royal drones where known for their brutality. They came from the time before the canterlot incident.
It was really rare for then to show up in the lowest halls of the hive. One of them walked up to the dead body of the big changeling on the ground.
"Rise. We know that you are still alive in there."
Sit remained silent confused about the sudden change of events. After a couple of second he decided that it was futile to remain hidden and he saw once how the drones act when they get upset about something. He left the body slowly through the wounds and the mouth of the dead body. It took him nearly a minute to gain his old form.
"What is your name drone?" again the changeling who walked up to him.
Sit just shook his head. He didn't have a real name. He though about away to identify himself but he wasn't able to come up with anything.
"Speak up!" the royal drone infront of him seemed to get upset so Sit had to think about something. He remembered the name of the pony he fed on. Cid. But that wasn't his name so he thought about something like that and came up with:
"Sss-Si-Sit" The first word he ever spoke in his life. He knew he could talk but didn't see any advantage in it. All changelings he ever appraochad saw how small he was compared to them and attacked him immeadiently. Without wings and a horn he made a pitiful picture of a changeling. So he didn't speak until now.
"Mm-my naaame is.... Sit. W-what doo. You wantt fromm me?" Speaking was hard for him because he never practised it before
"You are NOT in the position to ask any questions. But I will answer. Just remember to do that never again... Well... We heared about you. The changelings talk about dead body rising and a strange small changeling without any wings or horns that seems to escape any assault and fight. We are here to investigate. If you are that one you are allowed to get to one of the upper halls. But you have to show your worth andt for that manner... You have to survive the pit for one week." His voice was cold as ice and sharp like a blade as he said the last sentence.
Sit froze in place. The pit. The place where changelings battle each other to get in a higher hall. Just the strongest fight there. And if someone wins a fight he can get out but noone ever tried to survive in it as far as Sit heared. It was a hole in the middle of the hall and there were nowhere to hide in it. It was a promised death for Sit but if he spoke up against it he would die right now. He thought about his chances to escape the royal drones and then about fighting in the pit for one week. He decided.
He jumped at the drone which immeadiently reacted and punched his face but Sit expected that and became liquid so the hoof just went through. Sit then formed half solid again and rushed to the exit where 2 other drones were standing. The looked surprsed at the strange thing that tried to get past them. Both of them pulled out a bottle and ran it through the liquid to catch it up. They succeeded. As they were done their bottles were full and Sit felt that they had some important parts of him. One of them had a big part of his back the other one an eye and a part of the organs. If he would go solid now he would maybe die. He stopped.
After a couple of seconds the first drone walked up to him. "I admire your sharp thinking. You knew it would be more likely to escape us then hte pit... To bad that we were prepared. If you follow us to the pit now we will spare you."
He walked around the puddle that was Sit. Looking at it and smiling dangerously. He sometimes tried to step on him but Sit always pulled back fast enough.
After a minute he decided that resistance was futile and that hisbest bet was to escape the pit somehow. he formed himself up so much that he was able to talk."...Okay... you wiin"
Sit. A special changeling
They walked towards the centre of the hall. Many changeling gathered in save distance to them. They watched curiously what the royal drones were up to and followed them.
As Sit and his unfriendly companions arrived at the pit three changelings were in it fighting. Two small ones against another small one. They seemed to be pretty young and suddenly a fourth changeling appeared. A big one this time. He took out the one alone and then attacks one of the other twos. One of them tried to flee but as he opened his wings the bigger changeling took the dead one and threw it on the fleeing one while he attacked the one that didn't try to flee with his sharp teeth.
The small one didn't stand a chance and the one that tried to flee still was a little numb from the hit he got. Before he realised what happened the big changeling got to him and pulled him up with his mouth and hit him in the face until the plates shattered. After a couple of hits the small changeling stopped struggling and a few seconds he was dead.
The big changeling stood between the three dead changelings and smiled bright. If no one attacked him for two hours he was free to leave to the upper halls. He stood there and waited for any challengers and tried to look as impressive as possible.
For a couple of minutes the royal drones just watched him. Then they threw the bottles with Sits body parts down the pit. Sit didn't hesitate long and as he was he tried to jump after it. he merely ran down the wall until he reached the shattered bottles and collected what was lying around. He felt that his entire body was complete again.
The big changeling looked surprised at the black puddle that moved around in the pit and waited what happened. After a couple of seconds he decided to act and threw one of the dead bodies around him into the puddle.
Sit waited for that chance and entered the body. After he got in he started to get up. He looked at the surprise and nearly frightened big changeling infront of him with the shattered face of the one that got punched to death by the hooves of the big one.
"Yhhouu! Yhou killed mee! I... I will take hoorribel revange aghainst YHHOOOUU!" Sit tried to speak as frightening as possible and he did good. The big changeling stepped back. Pure panic was in his eyes. Sit slowly walked towards the now shivering changeling.
"S-STAY BACK! STAY BACK!" The big changeling nearly cried. He opened his wings and tried to fly away but Sit jumped on him and bit in his wings. They were really hard but with the sharp and broken teeth he managed to rip one open and the holding was enough anyway to make the changeling unable to fly.
Both crashed to the ground. Sit bit the struggling and panicking changeling over and over. He got a few hits but he didn't care. After nearly a minute the big changeling got weaker and after over ten minutes he stopped moving. Sit let go of him and stood up. His snout was full of green blood. He gasped after air and a couple of seconds later he left the host body. He crawled up to the still living but slowly dying changeling on the ground and started to cover up his wounds with himself.
Just a short time later he was inside the new host body and stopped all his bleedings and also tried to keep him alive. Both brains where now pretty close together and so he was able to speak to the changeling he entered.
"Listen. I spared your life. I will care about that you will survive and fix you back up. But in return... In return you let me in peace. I have to stay in this pit for... A week. You will stay with me and in return I promise you to take you with me to the upper halls. How does that sound to you?"
"W-what are you?! Who are you?"
"Sit... I think my name is Sit... And I am a changeling... And I just... Want to survive all this. So what do you say?"
"Uhm... O-okay... But you promise to protect me until I am back up?"
"Yes. And you let me just live... One hoof washes the other okay?"
"Do I have a choice?"
"No. If you refuse I will kill you and use your body as long until I get allies... That is the only way for me to survive... So can I count you in?"
"...Yes..."
Sit. A special changeling
First day in the pit.
Sit and his new 'comrade' that didn't have a name so far were waiting for 2 hours now. The royal drones disappeared the moment Sit entered the pit but he knew they wouldn't be far when he tried to escape. He looked over to the big changeling that regenerated quickly after Sit fixed him up from inside.
"Heey. Didd you thinck of a name alredy?" talking was still a problem for him. But he got better. Waiting for the reaction of his grim looking 'friend'.
"Stop bothering... I am still thinking bout it... Why do I even need a name?"
"I tohld you. I want too remember you. And fohr that you need a name." He was slowly getting better at it.
"Fine... Then call me Black. That is the colour of my plates and it is a name. Now start to speak properly or use telepathy. That will make things a lot easier."
"No! I don’t lik that wierd talkin in my hed. But Black is a name. At last somthing. So... Wen do you think wil they come? You kno who I am talking bout."
Black grinned. "Couple of minutes. at max. I still wonder why no one got here... Must've been your scary dead rising show. Will you do that again when one tries to get us?"
"No. I wil do what I did with yu. Take him ovar. If he is strong I will lett him life aftar I made sure he obeis. If he is veak... Then I will kill him..."
The bigger changeling shivered as he remembered the feel of Sit entering his body and taking over his body. How he went through his veins and made his blood stop and nearly made him burst."Never do that to me again. Please... I promise I will follow you."
"Good... Now be quit... They ar coming."
As Black looked up he saw a few of the bigger changelings appeared at the edge of the pit. They were not as tall as Black except one or two. They still hesitated as one of the bigger changeling jumped down. He was smiling full of himself just concentrated on the bigger one of the two changeling at the bottom He didn't see what happened before and thought that the small one wouldn't be a problem after he was done with the big one.
As he landed Black already was prepared and stood up to him ready to fight. Sit was behind the changeling that jumped in without hesitating like the others do. Did. Two more changelings jumped down as well. A little smaller as the one who jumped in first but still bigger then Sit.
One of them landed in front of Sit the other one next to Black and the big one who landed. It was obvious that he would attack the winner or at least would attack when the two others were exhausted and wounded. The one in front of Sit grinned. He just heard about a really strong changeling in the pit but he thought that it was the other one and that this one was just easy prey.
He was wrong. Sit rushed towards him what surprised the changeling who thought he would win without resistance. He took a step back to catch the jumping small changeling with no wings but as he touched him his hooves just went through him and Sit fell directly into his face while he had his liquid form.
He entered the totally confused and head shaking changeling through the nose and ears and didn't even bother to take control of him and just crushed his brain with becoming half solid inside his head. The still surprised changeling died without understanding his death.
His friend saw all that and stood there in shock. That was when Black attacked him and flipped his neck before the other one could react. The first one who jumped in and didn't see what happened behind his back attacked Black in return. Sit saw it through the eyes of the now dead changeling. He saw how the changeling that attacked Black flew up a little and dropped down on Black as he let go of the dead changeling who's neck he just flipped and tried to block of the attack but he didn't make it in time.
Both fell to the ground. And as Black tried to get up he looked in the grinning face of the changeling that attacked him and before he was able to dodge he had a hoof slammed against his head that made him fall over again. He saw how everything went blur and heard the other changeling laugh until he suddenly stopped and his laughing turned into a wet gurgle as Sit, who slipped out of the other body, got into his mouth and nose and started to take him over.
After a short struggle it was over and the changeling stood there with empty eyes just looking straight to the ground. A couple of seconds later green blood ran out of his mouth and nose and then a black liquid came out. It was Sit. He decided that it would be best to kill this one instead of taking him as a servant. He didn't want to mess it with up with Black.
"Can yu get up?"
"Yes... Thank you Sit..." He grabbed the hoof Sit was holding out to him and stood up. He was still a little shaky but he could stand. His vision got better as well.
"Can you get out of that shithead now? I want to kick him and beat him and rip him apart" Black was pissed and grinned in a dangerous way.
"Feel free." The black fluid ran out faster now and just a few seconds later Sit took form again next to the still standing body of the dead changeling.
"I made him stand... Now it is mor fun for you." Sit slowly got used to speaking.
"I better don't ask how... But thank you." He grinned even brighter and took his time to enjoy it. He started with hitting the changeling who attacked him and then he really started.
A couple of minutes later there wasn't much left of the changeling. Lust a puddle of green blood and a lot pieces and sharps. Some innards lay around.
"AAhh. That was a relief. Thanks again for saving my ass... But why did you kill him? he was stronger then me apparently"
"I... Don nott think so. He got you by surprise... And I didn't like hiim."
"That's it? You didn't like him? And you really think I'm stronger? He beat the shit out of me." Black seemed surprised and looked directly at Sit who sat around on a stone.
"Yes... Well I think they have enugh for now. They will try agan. But for now they ar scared." He was looking up to the edges of the pit. Three changelings were standing there and watching. They were much to small and looked at each other too.
"Hey! You thre! If you stay away from us you may figt down here. And the winer is allowed to stay if he likes. We promise safaty." Sit was pretty sure that was a good offer to them. After a short moment of hesitation two of the changelings jumped down the pit.
It was a short fight. The winner was covered in wounds and bite marks. He looked unsure over to Black and then to Sit. He realised some time ago that Sit had to be in charge. Black just looked away and rolled his eyes. Sit nodded and smiled a little. The wounded changeling looked relieved and walked over to Sit and made a little way around Black.
Black grinned and made a sudden move to scare the, in his eyes, little changeling. Still bigger then Sit but small. The small changeling jumped a little and looked really scared at Black who just started to laugh got a really disappointed look from Sit who then turned to the new 'underling'.
"It's fine. He won't hurt you if you don't give him a reason. So well... Welcome to the group. What is your name?" Sit looked at the changeling not really expecting anything though.
"Facet... You see my eyes?... They are... a little of or? I have highly evolved.... facet eyes,,," The voice of Facet was really weak and he made weird pauses
"Oh. They look really different. What use does they have?" Sit started to get curious. He sat up and looked at Facets eyes closer.
"I see... like four thousand pictures at once... My brain is mostly... Focused on working on that... So I have... To make... Short breaks... While talking... Also while moving... So to move freely... I have to close... One eye..." It took over a minute for Facet to say that. He looked around while doing it and it seemed that every move anything made got his attention.
"That is fascinating... Don't you think so too Black? He could actually be useful."
"How?" Black wasn't really listening. He was looking around to see if someone was foolish enough to attack. The third changeling was gone. Not that Black cared. He just noticed it.
"Like this. Facet? You know what I can dho? I will enter your body. Don't worrie you won't die. Just... Trust me. If I wanted you dead you would be ded or?" Sit stood up and carefully walked over to Facet who looked nervously in every direction the same time and moved his head fast and sudden to see anything around.
"Yes... I saw it... Saw it all... You will enter... Through my mouth... Ears, nose maybe... Eyes... But if you... Say you won't... Kill me then... I will trust... You..." Facet was smiling nervously. He still had a lot of wounds and knew that he had no chance resisting even if Sit was a little smaller.
"Good. Now just stand still.* Sit turned into his liquid form and crawled up on Facet who still nervously looked everywhere and especially every move the puddle made that crawled up on him. Then he was surprised. Sit entered through his wounds and when he was done with it they were healed. Well they looked healed but Facet saw that there was actually a really thin and fine layer of chitin over it.
Parts of Sit to patch up the wounds but then he suddenly felt how he got fuller. He felt how Sit moved through his body and tried to fit in any gap he could find. Some rest was left out and ran down on Facets skin. After a couple of seconds Sit reached Facets brain. And he started to understand what problems Facet had to struggle with. The brain was running on highest gear and still couldn't keep up with all the pictures it got.
Sit started to see a few of them and then did what he came for. He took them all in. Well not all but most of them. His brain felt like it was bursting even in his liquid form so he let go of them.
At the outside Facet looked confused around. He knew that he still had the same eyes but he didn't get as much pictures as he normally got and he felt how his other senses and everything else began to work better. But it went over again and he got all pictures the same time again shutting down his entire body as his brain tried to keep up to the information.
But then slowly it got better again. In the end he thought that he just saw half of the pictures he got. He felt weird. Relieved on the one hoof but also a little blind on the other. But in the moment he started to speak and realised that he didn't need to pause because his brain was working well he felt so happy.
"B-Black? I... Hey! Wait! I-I can speak! Hahah! Speak! Really fast! Listen. I am Facet a changeling. My speciality is that my eyes are special! Hahahaha! I can finally speak!"
"Uhm... Okay well good for you? How is Sit doing?" Black looked a little surprised at the now babbling changeling in front of him. What was the most distracting thing was that his eyes changed colours. they were now mixed green like Sits eyes and the normal blue of changeling eyes. The thousands of eyes apparently randomly changed colour But what also bothered Black was that Facet obviously didn't care about Sit being in there. He remembered how horrible he felt but then he looked down on the ground. Facet was standing in a small puddle of the black liquid Sit turned into. Black was no genius but he figured that Sit left out some parts of the body to not make Facet burst.
"I don't know. I don't feel him that much anymore. I think he is making me able to see less. I really have to thank him... You think he is alright?" Facet seemed slowly concerned because he wasn't able to tell what happened inside his body anymore. His body seemed to work well but what was about Sit? Then he heard a voice in his mind.
"Remarkable! This is how you see?! That is... Amazing! I mean I see EVERYTHING! The dirt. The fissures in the walls. The small lines on the plates of Black. really everything... So this are facet eyes.. Well but I just wanted to check. I will leave now. So don't worry. and open your mouth please."
Facet did as Sit told him. A couple of seconds later Sit started to drip out of his mouth and nose. After some time he stood back up infront of his two 'comrades'. Facet was looking sad around now being slow in mind again but something was different
"What have you done to me?" He spoke slowly but didn't make any break. He looked around checking if everything was back to normal and indeed he saw nearly four thousand pictures the same time.
"I left some of my brain in there attached to yours. I will not be able to see that well for the next few hours so I’m counting on you two... So well lets wait and see if someone is still brave enough to challenge us. Facet you hold open your eyes and check if someone tries to sneak up from somewhere. Black. I count on your strengh okay?" Sit sat on the stone again while he talked and looked at his 'comrades' well he turned his head towards them but his eyes didn't move at all.
"I will keep my eyes open. All of them"
"You know you can count on me Sit. I won't let you and thousand eye hear down."
Doth were looking determined at their new leader. Sit was smiling and so the first day in the pit ended for him.
Sit. A special changeling
It's been three days now. Three days full of fighting stress and blood. Every day the pit gets emptied by some low drones so the corpses don’t stack up in the pit. The cleaning troupe was just making its job as Sit and his now five companions were walking up to the room where the ponies were captured.
They were allowed to eat once a day when the pit got cleaned up but if they aren't back in time they would die. That is what the royal drones told Sit before. He knew that the drone was serious and didn't want to push his luck so he and his 'comrades' die in the end.
"Hey! Step aside I eat first!" Black was pushing away one of the three new member of the group. Sit choose them because he thought they might be useful. Since the second day smaller and even bigger changelings sometimes tried to get part of the group instead of attacking them. But still there were enough changelings and small groups of them who still were attacking them.
However the few that tried to get part of the group were judged by Sit. Black and Facet weren't allowed to question his decision and Facet didn't care at all. Black mostly looked at Sit shaking his head. Most of the changelings that tried to get in the group were rejected by Sit and some got killed. But he let most live and run away.
The three he choose were all special in their own ways. One was able to crush even rocks with his wings. They were extremely hard and also sharp. He tried to fight Sit but after Black took him down Sit made him an offer and he had no other chance then to accept and he knew that. He saw what happened to the ones who get defeated. The splattered and exploded corpses were laying around. The changeling planned to accept now and wait for his chance to kill that small weak bastard who hid behind that tall ass hole who got him out when he was off guard.
But as Sit entered his body and tortured him he started to fear that small strange thing without wings and horn that seemed so weak and gave up on his plan on crushing him.
Sit noticed that and left him after a couple of seconds. As he set himself together a couple of seconds later his face is a little concerned. He looks at the changeling that still lays at his feet and looks up to him in terror. Sit didn't want to scare him that much. He sat down in front of him and lifted him up into a sitting position as well.
"Listen. And listen well. If you follow me you will be able to get to the upper levels. and I don't mean the next level. I was promised to get to one of the top floors. And I will take you with me. You and all the others. Don't worry. You have talents and I appreciate that. Now. Tell me your name. I need something to call you.
The changeling looks up at him and carefully smiles. He was a little confused by the turn around of the events but he was happy bout the fact that he won't die for now.
"Uhm..." He thinks some time about it after coming up with this idea:
"Killer Wings." He seems proud of his name and looked at Sit with exited flattering wings. Sit had no idea what was going on and neither did Black but he didn't like what he saw.
"Calm down you shit. Your name sucks. How about...Floppy Legs or... Dull Teeth. Something like that." He snorted and spit out.
"Black please. Its okay if you don't like him or it. But he didn't do something for you okay? If we want to survive this we need to work together. So please go along. Your fighting power is really important but his Wings are also pretty useful. So please get along."
Black frowned but after a couple of seconds he sighs and turns away.
"Whatever. But I won't call him Killer Wings." He walks over to Facet who keeps an eye around for enemies and sits next to him on the ground.
"Hmm with one thing he's right. Your name isn’t the best...the Wing part is good...what about...Blade Wings?" Sit looks at the changeling who considers the idea.
"Hmm... Okay. Blade Wings sounds cool too. So well uhm.. And now?"
Sit looks at him." We wait."
Sit looks at Black and frowns a little.
"Hey. Be nice. We don't have that much time outside of the pit. so please don't make it even more complicated Black... Oh and Blade please be careful. You two too. I don't want that this group goes down just because one of us gets pissed. Let's eat now..." He says that looking down. He walks over to one of the ponies that are asleep and leans his forehead against hers. A couple of seconds later he is inside the dream. He does what he did the last few days.
He searches for the dreaming pony and shows himself. Then he feeds on whatever he gets. Today he gets fear. A lot of it. He swallows it down trying not to concentrate of the taste. Sadness was bitter.
It tasted horrible but it kept him alive. As soon he was done with feeding on her he got himself out of the dream. He knew that Black was watching over him but he didn't want to spent so much time in the dream. He needed to go back as soon as possible.
As he woke up a pretty harsh but not totally unexpected picture was before him. Black stood over the corpse of one of the two other changelings. Blood was dripping from his snout and its wasn't hard to guess what happened.
"Did he touch you or something like that?" Sit sighed and looked at the dead changeling. His name was Echo. He could perfectly imitate voices even without changing his appearance. Not a great ability but something.
"He tried to kill you." That was Blade. Sit turned around to him surprised. He and the other changeling stood some way apart and fed on the emotions flowing out of the ponies instead of getting into the dream. It was a slower but a lot safer way to feed.
"What?" Sit looks back at Black who wipes his own bloody snout off. He then looks away and walks out while gathering a little of the love lingering out of the sleeping ponies he passes.
Blade walks over to Sit and looks after Black who left the room, still having some blood in his face.
"I wasn't quick enough to react but he was. Echo was sneaking up to you and wanted to bite you in the neck but Black kicked him away. Echo bit him instead but he just grabbed him and bit him in the neck. It was over faster than I could watch." He ends and looks a little admiring but also scared after Black.
"I see... Well I have to thank him later. Now lets return." He looks at Echo and sighs. He then turns around and walks past by Facet who looked at everything the same time again.
Since Sit gave him some more braincells he got a lot quicker with thinking and talking. Also with his reactions and anything else. He still was much slower then anyone else but with his unnatural good eyes he was able to make up for it with seeing his enemies nearly in slow motion. He already was able to defeat 3 other changelings. Small one yes but still not to underestimate.
"Come on you three. Let's move... We have not much time left." Blade nods and follows. The other changeling follows too. Facet stands there for a moment focusing a little on one of the sleeping ponies and then follows the others too.
As Facet leaves the room he sees how a bigger changeling launches himself from the ceiling to attack Sit. Facet tries to warn him but he is still to slow. Blade is not.
He also noticed a movement above him and looked up just to see that e changeling even bigger as him jumps down aiming for Sit. Blade doesn't hesitate. He jumps up and opens his wings. The tip of them touch the changeling and cut open his side and even tear apart one wing. The surprised changeling screams in pain and loses his direction and falls to the ground, next to Sit, who jumps away and looks at the attacker.
"Thank you blade... I think I should not drop my guard again... but pretty nice reaction... You too Facet." Sit looks up to facet who just closed his mouth again and looks around searching for more changelings.
"What? I wasn't even able to say something." with his extremely slow way of speaking he sounded a little like a retard. He somehow manages to look down in a depressed way.
"No really. you saw him and reacted as fast as you could. Really. You're improving a lot. But now you should stay close to us." Sit turns back to blade who just killed the changeling who assaulted them.
"And thank you too. Your fast reaction saved me. but now we should really hurry...If we stay much longer we will be too late. Venom are you coming?"
The third changeling except from Sit looked up from the dead changeling. His face was empty. Without any emotional expression. He was one of the few changelings who didn't even bother with the group. He jumped into the pit attacking one of the biggest changelings. Sits group was in a very tricky situation back then.
A big group of large changelings attacked them. They managed to fight some of but there were just to many. Black was nearly knocked out and had a broken wing and leg.
Facet lost nearly one of his eyeballs with the thousand little eyes in it. It was the time before Blade entered and just Echo was there but in fight he was no real use.
Sit himself had some problems with protecting his comrades as good as he could. He took over the biggest of them and killed him. He used his body then but he got slowly torn apart. And the problem was not only his host body. Some parts of him were in the parts of the host body that got ripped of. He wasn't able to hold out much longer but that was the moment when a strangely slim but tall changeling jumped into the pit.
He bit one of the closest changelings and ran over to another biting him in the leg. While he was turning around the first changeling who got bit started to scream.
At the place where he got bit there were just small scratch but it seemed he was in great pain and after a couple of seconds where the attacking changeling bit three others he dropped down and was apparently dead.
After the slim changeling took out at least seven changelings he stopped his assault and left a bunch of mere nine terrified changelings who just saw how most of her companions got wiped out before they could even react. Black used that chance.
Despite his broken leg he jumped on one of the shocked changelings and drove his teeth deep in his neck killing him instantly. Sit himself also didn't hesitate and attacked the closest changeling he could get to and killed him as fast as Black did. The remaining seven changelings began to run and fly. They tried to escape the pit as fast as they could not looking back and screaming in terror.
After they were gone Sit left the damaged body and searched together his pieces. The slim changeling just looked at what happens without showing any facial expression. He waited patiently until Sit got himself together. He was improving and just needed half a minute and as he finally stood in front of his unknown saviour he took a step back.
"Thank you I suppose... You saved us from a pretty harsh situation..." Sit looks at Black who lost consciousness and over to Facet who also laid on the ground and tried to recover from what just happened. Echo was standing in a corner and didn't move much. He just looked around at the dead bodies of over twelve changelings. Everyone of them bigger as him.
The slim changeling just looked at Sit and turned around. He opened his wings.
"Was not my intention to help you. I had a score to settle... Now its done and I will move on." A cold voice without any emotion in it.
"Wait! Please stay! That was amazing right now. What did you do and how?" Sit talked loud and rose his hoof but didn't dare to touch the strange changeling in front of him
"Poison. I am poisonous." That was it. The changeling closed his wings though. He also turned around and looked at Sit with cold and somehow rigid eyes.
Sit didn't feel well. That changeling in front of him killed several others in no time and seems not even to be exhausted at all. Well he didn't do much. He just bit several times and and dashed from one to another but still. nothing seems to have happened for him.
"So uhm... do you uhm... want to join our group? we could use your talent a lot. Your fighting power is... immense. So what do you say?"
The changeling was looking at Sit from above. He was over a head taller then him. He stared at him for a couple of seconds. Sit started to feel uncomfortable and regretted to ask such a question at all
"Fine. I heard that I can escape this thing when I win a fight in here. And I did. But I also heard about that I get in the upper floors when I stay here for a while... And together with you it might get faster." he says all that with his cold monotone voice. He doesn't look away and Sit starts to feel so uncomfortable that he wants to just turn into liquid and hide in some gap somewhere but he stands up and manages to smile somehow.
"G-great! Uhm... What is your name? All here have a name. That on the ground are Shadow and Facet. And that over there is Echo." He points at the wounded and or unconscious changelings.
"Venom. Call me Venom." he says it without hesitation and walks over to a stone and sits down there looking at the corpses around.
Sit shivers and asked himself if he did the right thing. On the other hand he needed Venom. Black and Facet needed at least a day to recover nearly to full health and he and Echo wouldn't be able to protect them until then. Sit shook his head and walked over to Black to fix his wounds.
The four changelings arrived at the pit just as the last few corpses got carried out. in the last day there weren't many changelings who challenged them. Since Venom was there most changelings stood away from the pit. Most that came there wanted to get part of the group all were talking about.
"Looks like we made it in time. Oh look there is Black." Sit jumps down into the put softening himself just before he hit the ground to not get himself damaged.
"Hey uhm Black... Thank you. And I'm sorry."
Black looks up from the ground.
"Huh? Oh never mind. my job to protect you. If you die I would be alone with Venom, Blade and Facet... Facet is okay but Blade and Venom are... I don't know... Anyway. How long do we have to stay here until we get out?
"In two hours just three more days..."
"Great, Then I will take a nap. Wake me up when there is action." Black walked to a corner in the pit and laid down. After a couple of minutes he started to snort soundly.
"Wow...that he can actually sleep... Well just three more days... Lets get this over" Sit looked up out of the pit.

Sit. A special changeling
It was just half a day to go. Sit and his small group that grew up to proud eight members. Sit, Black, Facet, Venom, Blade and three others who joined the group. One of them had a special talent for magic. He had no wings but his horn was a little longer and he was able to cast spells that surpassed the abillities of normal changelings.
His name was Arcane Spellhorn. He joined the group on the fifth day. Facet saw him first and warned the others. Blade and Venom reacted nearly te same time. They were the fastes with reflex. Then Black and Sit. It was a more or less quiet day. Since Venom was part of the group there weren't many attackers. Blade was one of the last who tried. Even the ones who wanted to be part of the group decreased.
So evryone was more or less surprised but since he was small and didn't seem not to make any move to attack them they calmed down assuming that it was one of the changelings who wanted to be part of the group. Venom however stayed on guard. He was always a little different from the others. He never showed any emotion and in fights he took everyone out so fast that noone raelly saw how.
Even Black was a littel afraid of him. Sit however started to trust him and became more relaxed when he was around. He startd to trust him and as he now saw that he was still alarmed by the changeling at the edge of the pit he also kept his attention up.
Suddenly the changeling dissappeared after his horn sparkled a little and just a second later he stood infron of Facet. Facet who was really slow in his reactions took nearly half a second to jump back. Venom didn't take taht long.It seemed he expected it and he reacted fast. Really fast.
Before Facet made his jump back Venom was already past him and tried to attack the weird changeling who stood now in the middle of the pit but he didn't reach him.
As his teeth nearly reached the skin of the changeling he collided with an invisible shield. His teeth scattered and he was throwen back.
"Careful careful my eager friend. Today I did not come to fight. Not this time... I am here to negociate. i want to het access to the higher halls as soon as possible and this group seems to be a great oportunity to get there in a short amount of time." He turns towards Sit ignoring Facet and Venom who both lay at the ground now. Venom bleeds out of his mouth and the first time there is an emotion. Anger.
The cahngeling however walks towards Sit levitating aside Black and Blade who jumped infront of him. He stands infront of Sit who stays surprisingly calm. He heared what the changeling said and understands it and thinks that he won't get in danger as long as he was useful for him. But he couldn't stand the thought to obey him in the end. So he just sat there and waited for what the changeling had to say.
*So you must be the leader of the group i heared so much about. What is your name liquid zombie how they call you out there. I know you have a name like all the others here. You have a weird habit you know?" he now stands directly infront of Sit and is nearly half a head taller and looks down on him.
"Sit. My name is Sit. And do tehy call me like that? Intersting... Anyway what do oyu want? I heared taht you want to get to the upper halls... Like everybody else here. And this group is sure the fastest way all way up. But what makes you thinking that we will accept you? You surely know that its not all about strengh. Venom for example can't stand you and i don't want to mess things up with him. And teh otehrs aren't that happy to see you as well now i think. So why should i take you and lose maybe all of my otehr allies?" Sit stands up to the changeling infront of himas good as he can.
"haha. You're truly smarter then i thought... Well i understand you. And i answer you directly. I am stronger then them. But i get your point though." He turns around towards all teh otehr changelings who are held down on the ground by one of his spells and undoes it. In the same moment the air around him flickers and the shield disappears.
"I am truly sorry. Like i said i didn't come to fight you but you left me no chance. So can you please forgive me and atleast accept me into your group?" He took a nearly submissive pose while talking, bowing his had to the ground and looking to the side. He knew exactly how to act.
Sit realised that and felt a small shiver, amazed by that acting. Blade, Black and Facet however were surprised by it and started to lose their hostile feelings against him. Venom already looked emotionless like always but seemed not to be convinced. Black nodded after a short time.
He wasn't sure bout it but somehow he felt that his anger was gone and he understood how useful the fighting abillities would be.
Blade nodded as well. He somehow started to admire that weird changeling without any wings and a big horn. He was strong even without the abillity to fly and overwhelmed everyonein without even getting touched once. Even not from Venom who was the strongest so far.
Facet was still confused by what was going on but somehow felt okay with letting this strong and appearently smart changeling fight together with him. He smiled and nodded jerky like an insect up and down.
Venom still looked cold and emotionless at the still downbowing protectionless changeling. He realised that the others started to trust him and decided taht it was the smartest thing to just let him. a couple of seconds later he looked away.
"So...Now it seems that everyone is okay with you beeing part of our group, i accept you. you surely know that you need a name and i expect from you to already have one..." Sit relaxed and sighed a little.
"Arcane Spellhorn" He smiled and turned around towards Sit.
"Let us work together well" Arcane reaches out a hoof and smiles even brighter.
"Yeah... Let's hope we will" Sit took his hoof carefully and immeadiently felt a nearly elcrical feeling running through his body. The changeling he jsut touched was overflowing with magic.
The Other two members of the group were something total different. The always sayed close together moved together and spoke together. The reason for taht was that they had and extremely strong thelepatic bond. They were the really really really rare case of two changelings hatching out of one egg.
They were more one beeing then two. That was the reason they had the same name. Brat. An old word for brother in another language that Arcane heard about. He gave them the name as tehy couldn't decide on one.
Both saw what the other saw, heared what the other heared and felt what the other felt. They were one beeing with two bodies in the end. That allowed them to be fearsome enemies. In fighting they lose alot of their synchronity to not make their moves predictable but always cover the other one while attacking in perfect harmony. Because they were basicly one chabgeling with two brains they were extremely smart and fast in acting. It's unnecessary to say taht they looked exactly the same.
Even for Facet who could see much much better then anyone else. Even he couldn't tell any different between them. He also saw that they really moved at the same moment without any delay.
Of course they were also able to act on their own and alone. If they watend they could talk alone and act alone. Both were just totally alike then as well.
They were the last ones who wanted to be part of the group on their own. They appeared similliar to Arcane. They were suddenly standing at the edge of the pit but they spoke before they entered the pit.
"Hello down there. I heared about you. And I want to ask you if i can be part of it as well. The place down here sucks and you guys are the fastest way up I think. And I hope I didn't fight all the otheres to get here for nothing... So can I come down and talk with you one same grounds?*
From the very first word they said everyone exept Venom looked at them surprised. Especcially Facet. he couldn't tell who was who what really was surprising for him. In the first moment he just thought that that was a trick.
Sit was the first who recovered from his surprised staring on the unusual duo.
"U-Uhm sure! Come down uhm... You two..." he was still not sure what was going on and so he just decided to see what would happpen from now on. The otehr of the group didn't move. Black and Arcane still surprised while Blade already got over it and Facet still was struggling with telling who was who. Venom already was standing in a position he could easily jump on them if neccessary.
"Okay." both jumped down and landed in the exact same moment. They then started to walk towards the group in perfect synchronisation. While one looked left at Venom, Facet and Blade, the otehr one looked right at Black and Arcane.
Both walked towards Sit and as nobody made a move to stop them they walked until they stood directly infront of him. Both were taller then him. They were even taller as Blade but smaller as Venom and Black.
"So you are the liquid undead I suppose? You sat here like you were the leader. In the center of them all. So are you this... Sit?" Sit glimpsed at Arcane who smiled in a way that told Sit that he used one of the food breaks to spread rumors.
"Yes... That is me. So I think I get what makes you two special. You are out of the same egg aren't you? i heared as other changelings talked bout you. You share basicly one mind do you?" He looked away from Arcane while he spoke back to the 'twins' infront of him.
"Oh yes. We two are out of one egg. I am amazed you know bout us. Well And it is not true that i sahe the same mind with him" Both made a slight move with their head towards each other.
"But we don't share the same mind. Yes it is true that we see what the otehr one sees and that we share also all otehr senses and our thoughts but I am still an individual even if i am pretty similliar to my brother here." Now they pointed on each other.
"I-I see... Uhm sorry but that is a little bit... New for me. So give me a second... So anyway. You two want to be part of this group to get to the upper floors fast? Understandable.. And your talent is really... Interesting for sure. Well and it seems noone has something against it... Sure... After one test. You two will fight for one minute with me. When you manage to prevent me from taking one of you over then you can stay." Sit took a step back and took a relaxed position that could change in not even a second to a perfect jumping position.
"Fine. I see and understand taht you need prove of our use. So I shall battle against you. If I just have to last a minute then it's no problem. My brother" Again this confusing parallel movement towards each other. Both were jumping a short way apart of each otehr and took a position that looked strangely. They faced each otehr with their sides and nearly their backs. Both had turned their head slightly towards Sit to keep him in their firld of vision. And then something happened.
Facet saw it first. They started to breath in a different rythm. Also their slight movements and vibrations on their bodies became unsynchrone. But just barely. Not even a half second at max.
Sit nodded. He took his postion as well and after he made sure everyone was standing far enough away so that the three could fight without any problems he launched himself towards the left twin.
He reacted as he predicted and made a small step back to get a better hold against the impact that must come any moment. But the otehr one reacted totally different. He launched himself towards Sit who was in midair and barely saw the movement in the corner of his eyes.
If he wouldn't have turned liquid Sit wouldn't have managed to get into that form. The right twin was so fast and hit him against the head that a normal changeling would have taken serious damage. Sit however just splattered to the side but it stopped his attack. The rest of his pody jsut slammed agaisnt the first twin and coverd him in the black fluid.
But without the head the rest of the body wasn't able to move and so it jsut dribbled down from him and gathered at the ground. Sits head also gathered together and moved fastly towards the still covered changeling not far from him. But this time that one surprised him. Despite his eyes closed because of the liquid he dodged Sits attack with flying up suddenly.
Sit missed and landed in the puddle under the now flying changeling. He pulled hisself together as good as he could and pretendet to jump up after the flying changeling but changed directions just before he left the ground with falling to the side and pushing then towards the one who was still on the ground and now pretty surprised,
But again Sits attack didn't bring the succes he hoped for. The moment before he reached the still not moving changeling the flying one kicked in. Literaly.
With one of his hooves he splattered Sits head again but this time was Sit prepared. He had felt the wind from the wings of the other one and instead of jsut splattering he stayed sticky and was now at the hoof of the flying attacker. He crawled up really fast before one of the twins could react was Sit already inside the head of the flying one who was still moving towards the ground in a pretty unlucky ankle.
As he crusehd on the ground he didn't feel anything anymore because Sit had already took him out. The otehr Twin just stood there confused over the suddenly broken link to his brother.
But Sit knew that he took over a minute so he knew he lost. He didn't bother long inside the head of the Twin and after he checked his brain he left the twin and gathered everything what was spilled of his body together. As he had put himself into a solid form again the twin was already awake again and stood next to his brother.
Both looked to the ground not knowing that they were the winners. Sit smiled gently as he stood directly infront of them.
"Congratualtions. You won. It took me exactly one minute and seven seconds to take one of you out." He touched both of them at the shoulder.
Both looked up the same moment absolutely surprised about what they jsut heared. They were back in synchronisation again and moved at perfectly the same moment.
"Oh great. Didn't think I made it in time. So that means me and my brotehr are now part of the group?"
"Yeah. That's what it means. Now some rest you two... But one other thing. I request of you to think of a name." He looked at both before he let go of them.
Several hours passed sinse then. None of them could decide on a name and as finally Arcane stepped in with an idea everyone was annoyed by the confusing and loud converstaion the twins had the hours.
"In the mind of that unicorn i entered the last time to learn new spell was also a book in a language from far over the ocean. I could decipher it with ease of course and one of the words was for brother. So why do you not name yourself Brat. I know, I know. If you speak it otehr its brat and that is a child but if you pronounce the A different. a littel longer and all then it is the word for brother in that language. And until you don't have better suggestions I advice you to take this one." He looked at both and saw taht they were okay with it. He clapped his hoof and turned around glad to make the two shut up after all the hours of loud talking and fighting between them.
And now the last day way slowly coming to its end. The entire group was preparing for elaving the pit. Some after a long, some after just a short time. For most it was exiting because they would leave it forever this time. Sit stood on a stone what made him jsut as tall as Black was. In the entire wekk he was now in the pit he still didn't seem to got older as much as Blade who was even younger then Sit. Now Blade looked older.
"My comrades. We will leave the pit in a few hours from now on. I don't think that we will encounter any more idiots who try to stand up against us. I am glad to know that we eight stood it through together. I especcially thank Black who kept an eye on me since the first day. But don't think that I thank you no. Facet you did a great job as guard and warning us, Blade you faought well and protected me more then one time. Venom. You helped us out of a situation what was the sure death for us so really tahnk you, Arcane. Your knoweldge about magic kept us safe the last days and will provide us good use in the future i think. And Brat. You tow sure have great fighting skills taht get even improved with your natural abillities. So I am looking ofrward to see how you two get into a fight with the intent to kill. Now my comrades. Let's wait here until the royal drones come and get us. I don't want to destroy everything now jsut because we left the pit to early." he ended his speech with jumpind down from the stone. Now he looked even more like a child.
Noone noticed it so far because they were always in a stressed situation. But now that everyone was realxed and waiting for the last few hours to pass they realised it. He looked just one or two weeks old at max. Changelings in their young ages make one year for a pony in one month and they hatch out of the egg when they are nearly done with their childhood. But Sit seemed not to be even near the end of it.
Arcane who was the most intelligent, estimated him on maybe eleven pony years. But he did still make the appearence of a leader somehow. Something in his way to move and talk made him fitting for that role. He was the one who kept them all together. Who gathered them in the first place. Now they were standing behind him ready to follow this still unbelievable weak looking changeling without horn and wings.
Sit turned around and smiled.
"Let's survive this together until we get all the way up alright?"
Everyone was surprised but one after another they nodded.
"Good. I' m glad i have all you here. I wouldn't have made it alone until here. So let's wait for it now and hope for the best." He turned around again and looked up to the edge of the pit, waiting for the royal drones to appear.
Sit. A special changeling
It was over. The week was finally over. The royal drones appeared at the edge of the pit and ordered them to get out of the pit. Everyone accepted happily. Noone wanted to be longer in there, even Venom seemed to relax a little by the thought to leave this deep and violent place.
Black was carrying Sit outside because he wasn't able to fly. Arcane just teleported out of the pit and the rest flew out. The lined up infrot of the royal drones.
"Eight... Quite a group you gathered there small changeling. This was supposed to be a test for your strengh but you made a teamsport out of it...Fine with us though. We saw that you could take down any of them." The royal drone who was appearently the leader walked up and down before Sit who just stood there.
Arcane frowned. He was sure that he was the most superior in the group with his magic but he kept quiet. He knew if he spoke without asking he would get big problems.
"But well... There is a small problem we have now... Besides you we can just allow four of your friends to come with you to the upper halls. And we will decide who it's gonna be with a test." The drone smiled at Sit as he stopped infront of him. it was the most hostile smile Sit ever saw.
"T-that was not what i agreed to!" Sit spoke up to the guard infron of him. But he just recieved a strong punch against the chest that was to fast for Sit to react and so strong that his chest plates cracked and he got throwen back a few feet.
"You dare to speak back!? I have no problems to kill everyone of you right now! So be grateful for the generousity of our queen who allowed atleast a few of your companions. Now you seven here. Get In line We will decide if you are worth to enter the higher halls with testing your strengh. You will have to fight me and if you are still alive or don't surrender in three minutes, or even are able to deliver a hit into my face, then you are free to stay at the side of this pitiful excuse of a changeling. Just look at him. He's still just a weak child but... I have to admit he is alot craftier then he looks like. He was able to not even survive all this but also gain additional strengh in form of allies... And unique ones as well. I didn't knew there were still talented ones fighting down here. What held you down here while you could have easily proceeded to the next floor?" Again the royal drone was walking past the small group Sit gathere.
Sit was still laying on the ground and tried to to get his breathing under control. The hit had damaged his lungs through the plates.
Most of the group were looking at the guard. Just Facet and Black were looking at Sit. Suddenly Arcane started to state his reason why he was still in the lowest hall.
"Well I decided to stay here until i found a group fitting my strengh and talents. I mean even if i might be an amazingly strong changeling compared to most with my extraordinary magical talents. but I am no fool. Even i need to sleep and eat so i knew i need allies just as strong as myself. Well not entirely but i think you get my point." He was taking a step forward while he spoke.
The royal guard smirked.
"Hehe. Looks like we have someone who wants to get tested first." He walked directly infront of Arcane and looked down on him.
"So you think you can stand up against me for three minutes? With no wings?" He looked at the big horn and then the rest of Arcane.
"Very well. Follow me into the pit. We will fight there. And i won't hold back so you better look that you stay alive." He jumps into the pit and turns around.
Before he even turned around totally Arcane teleported over him and kicked after his face. The guard blocked with a smile.
"Just as i thought" The guard grinned and pushed Arcane back. Arcane landed on his hooves but struggles a second. The guards didn't waste a second and charged at him. The hit that slammed against Arcanes shield was so strong that it threw him away. Arcane crushed against the wall but the shield took most of it. So he was able to dodge the next hit barely.
Then he took initiative. He teleported behind the guard and fired a fireball at him. A strong stroke of the guards wings took it out. The guard frowned and charged at Arcane even faster now. But this time he was prepared.
The moment before the guard his the shield again he disabled it and moved his head to the side. The guard was a little surprised and needed one second to react. Enough dor Arcane. He managed to land a left hook from below. It was not even enough to move the guards head for more then just a little up but it counted as hit. Arcane sighed reliefed. But the guard seemed not to mind what he said before and gave Arcane also a left hook in arcanes guts.
But unlike Arcanes this one was... Really strong. Arcane got lifterd up from it and spit out blood and vomited something green. He flew a few feet away from the impact and writhed in pain where he hit the ground. he was still spitting and vomitting blood and other liquids. The guard smiled.
"Good. You pass." He looks up to the others who watched the fight from the edge of the pit. Blade and Facet looked concerned. Brat just looked down and frowned about the unfair attack the drown made but both didn't dare to speak up. Black shook his head.
"I saw that coming.. he shouldn't have stopped or drop guard after he hit him..." He truned around. Venom was looking down without any facial expression. Sit who recovered a little and crawled to the edge looked down and also shook his head.
"So who is next?" The guard looked away from Arcane, still smiling and turned around to the remaining group. Black sighed and jumped down. He kept his distance and looked at the relaxed stnading guard.
"Does the time already run? Three minutes or?" The gurad nodded and smiled. Black sighed kept his distance, trying to let as much time pass as possible.
Then the guard made his move. he slowly walked towards Black and kept his focus on him. he had realised that he was no fighting someone with much better physical condition and most likely more experience in close combat as Arcane who still layd on a ground and coughed from tiem to time. Black never saw a changeling cry before. But Arcane cried and held his stomach.
Black didn't have time to take his eyes off from the guard. That one came closer slowly and tried to push Black to a wall to make him unable to move that freely. Black noticed that and thought that it would be no use to wait any longer.
He took initative and attacked the guard with all he got. a strong fast hit towards his chest whilee watching out of conter attacks.
The guard looked concentrated and readied himself. he dodged the attack but as Black threw a kick right after the punch he needed to block. He was surprised by its strengh but withstood it without big troubles. he pushed him back and aimed at his face with his right.
Black halfly doged, halfly blocked it. Then he grabbed the hoof and tried to throw the guard over. The guard withstood and grabbed Blacks hoof in return and twisted it around. Black growled and bowed over ignoring the pain in his shoulder and threw the surprised guard over. He felt his shoulder crack but ignored it. He needed to fight.
The guard freed himself and rolled around but Black didn't stop to attack him. One hit followed the otehr and the guard was slowly pushed back. But then it happened
Suddenly the royal guard evaded one of Blacks kicks and grapped his leg. With surprising much strengh he pulled at it and threw Black over. Then he took his leg and twisted it around until it broke.
Black was hissing and tried to roll around but the guard already took his other leg and twisted it to the point it hurt but doesnt break.
"Give up. You lost." The guard was smiling and incresed the force on Blacks leg a little more. Black surpressed another sound and just looked at the guard. After a few seconds the guard stopped smiling. He broke the other leg.
Black didnt make a sound but drinded his teeth under the pain but he didnt give in. He did the opposite. With his legs now broken he could turn around and grabbed the throat of the guard.
The guard Looked surpirsed at Black and lets go of his leg. That was what Black hoped for. He used all his strengh and pushed the guard over and rolled on top of him. The guard groaned as Black, who was not light, landed on top of him and still held his throath. But the guard fought back. He kicked black betweenthe legs and even if the genitals of changelings are covered with a thick chitin plate did it hurt Black much enough to losen his grip for just a split second. This however was enough.
The guard pushed him back rolled over and tore open Blacks throath with his teeth. After a few seconds of struggeling Black stopped to move. His green blood ran out of the huge wound in his throath.
He looked up to Sit and the other members of the small group, that was something like his comrades for the past week a last time. Then his eyes got pale and his body relaxed totally.
Black was dead. The guard stood back up and growled out loud. He looked up to the edge of the pit as well and smiled bright with his face full of blood. He was breathing heavily but appearently he had no wounds.
"So... Who is up next?"
Sit. A special changeling
Fighting, dying, running.
Sit looked at the dead body of the first changeling he put trust into, the one he could nearly call a friend. And he felt a pain somewhere in his mind about seeing him dead. No one else felt something like this. Blade felt fear as he looked at the royal guard above the corpse of the changeling who could even beat him. Facet felt the same way but also a little sorry for Black. Brat just figured it would be hard to win against the guard when they were separated and just hoped the others would step in first. And someone did.
Venom jumped down right after the guard had finished his question. The guard looked surprised but Venom just said in his emotionless voice
"Begin to count. I want this to be over soon.." He stands some steps away from the guard and looks him directly in the eyes. The guard somehow felt a slight shiver running down his back and making his wings vibrate.
"Hmm... What is your name drone? And don't worry. I already started counting as soon you entered the pit." the guard shook his head. It was impossible for him, a royal drone, to be afraid of someone who didn't even make it to the seventh or atleast sixth hall.
"Venom. And if you already started." Venom suddenly charged at the drone, who was caught by surprise. He bit him in the hoof he blocked with and pulled back then.
The guard looked confused but suddenly he felt a burn in his leg and knew what happened. he didn't hesitate for a second and ripped out his own leg.
Blood gushed out and the guard felt dizzy but he knew there wasn't enough poison to kill him. But he started to shiver slightly as he looked at Venom, who just stood there and looked at him emotionless. The he started another attack but this time the guard was prepared and used his wing to jump back and escape Venom this time narrowly. But Venom didn't stop, he kept attacking and he managed to land another bit but he didn't manage to penetrate the scales of the guard. And did just leaves scratches.
In the meanwhile the guard had stopped bleeding and soon everyone realized that he also wasn't someone normal. If he would have stood still everyone could have really seen his leg growing back but like her moved only Facet could see it entirely. But when soon the leg was tall enough that he managed to stand on it everyone saw it.
The royal drone smirked and regained confidence. He even attacked Venom be he just evaded swiftly and bit the drone again. But this time in the side.
The drone stumbled and his legs began to shake. But a few seconds later he stood calm again. A faint expression of surprise and anger rushed over Venom’s face but disappeared nearly immediately
"I see. You adapted to it." Venom knew that his poison like it was now wouldn't have any effect on the guard. And he knew he needed longer to create a new poison then the fight would last. But wait...Wasn't the fight already over? And indeed the drone made no attempts to attack Venom anymore.
"Time is off. You passed." He grinned and relaxed. Still Venom didn't take an eye off him before he had left the pit. Then he relaxed a little.
"Next one." Nobody moved. The royal drone made a move and one of his comrades pushed Blade down. He was surprised but managed to land on his hooves.
The royal drone smirked and waited until the changeling before him readied himself. Then he made a step forward and enjoyed the faint shiver that ran through the body of Blade.
"Hey kid. Why you not just surrender... Or do you wanna end up like that pile of plates over there?" he points on Black's body who still laid around. Blade Swallowed dry and thought for a few moments before he lowered his head.
"Y-yes... You are right... I surrender" The royal drone smirked wider and shook his head. he still walked towards Blade who started to back away slowly.
"Pitiful.. Go on. Run away you little coward." Blade nodded and flew away in panic. He felt no shame. He just was relieved that he survived.
That left only three to go and only two more spaces in the group of five at all. Arcane had gotten up in the meanwhile and had managed to teleport himself out of the pit, letting the royal drone and the dead body of Black in the pit. Venom was standing next to Sit, who was just laying on the ground.
"Come on... I want a fight. That right now was no fun. I hope I get a good fight and maybe a kill." He grins wide and walks slowly around in the pit like an animal, ready to jump its prey. As no one entered he sighed disappointed.
"Throw in the next one. One of the twins. That will be my last fight then I guess." he waved at the other guards and two of them pushed down one of Brat. It was impossible to tell which one. The other Brat stood at the edge of the pit and looked concerned at his brother. Then he closed his eyes. Now both of their minds were totally concentrated on the one in the pit. That way he would be able to react much faster and wasn't distracted by what his brother saw.
Both enemies circled each other before the royal drone attacks. it was a fast attack and it was strong but Brat was able to react to it, thank to his two minds. He managed to block it but got thrown back and crushed against the wall and his wings got damaged
Brat groaned a little in pain but had no time to relax as the drone still pressed further onto him, aiming for his head.
He missed nearly and barely scratches Brats face. Brat had dodged just good enough and now hit from below against the royal drone but that one jumped back and so Brat missed as well Then he feels a little burn at the side of his face. Even if the hit barely touched him, it was still strong enough to make a crack in Brats shell.
The royal drone smirked and rushed towards Brat and clashed into him while he was at the wall. At least he planned so. Brat, who had saw that attack coming managed to drop just in the moment as the drone reached him. So the drone just crashed into the wall and made a huge crack into it. But Brat didn't leave that situation unharmed. As soon the drone noticed that he had missed him he stomped on what he felt at his legs and crushed Brats hind leg
He whimpered out loud and pulled away as good as he was able to. He managed to free his leg but it was in a terrible shape. The plates were broken and shards were standing away from where the drones hoof had crushed his leg.
He whimpered and crawled backwards, away from the royal drone that smirked and made a fun with slowly following him until Brat had crawled through the entire pit and pushed himself against the wall. He still whimpered in pain and dragged a trail of green blood behind him. Now he tried to push himself through the wall behind him but he couldn't.
He closed his eyes and waited for the final blow. But it never came. He just felt that someone lifted him up and then he heard wing sounds before he got dropped hard. As soon the one brother had closed his eyes the other one opened his and saw how the royal drone lifted him up chuckling and throw him down to the ground as soon they were out of the pit.
"Thanks to your amusing, pitiful crawling and whimpering i let the time pass and that saved your life, you little scum." he chuckled more and looked over to facet.
"You next small changeling. The other one will be just as strong I fear... And that would be boring. So you gonna entertain me a last time..." He jumps back into the pit but facet remained where he was and just shook his head
"i give up. I can't fight you. I know that better then everyone else." he didn't feel shame. That was something foreign to changelings. He just accepted that he would have to life here from now. And most likely die soon but for changelings every second they were alive counted.
The royal drone sighed but that was exactly what he expected. He already knew that he had already his last fight and had enjoyed the amusing sight he got when Brat was crawling over the ground in fear.
"Fine then. So you others... The ones that can walk follow me. The others" He made a gesture with his hoof and two royal drone stepped by and lifted up Arcane and Brat.
"Get carried for now. So let's go." he turned around and attempted to leave as Facet spoke up, what was
surprising.
"May i have a second to talk with Sit before he leaves?" He stood there and know he could die for this but something inside of him told him to do what he was about to do.
Sit looked surprised and the royal drone frowned but nodded. So Sit followed Facet and they walked over to Blade, who sat at a stone and thought about how to get to the next floor once everyone else was away. Facet turned around to Sit and did something that shocked him a little. Sit stared at Facet in disbelieve as he ripped out one of his facet eyes and held it toward Sit.
"Take it. We changelings can trade body parts as you know. I don't need it anymore. Take it and split it up. that way you should have five hundred eyes...per eye" he just handed it over to Sit who hesitatingly took out his own eyes and split up the facet eyes he just got, putting them into the now empty eye sockets of himself. Green blood ran down his cheeks like tears and he needed a few minutes until the eyes hat adapted to his body and as he opened his eyes he was overwhelmed by the way he saw the world.
It was different from how it was when he looked through Facets eyes. It weren't hundreds of small images. It was like seeing an entire picture but so much sharper. he could see nearly every dirt crumble around, even if they were steps far away. He saw the fine lines in the plates of Facet infront of him, who looked at him with his one remaining eye. And Sit saw every single eye in Facets face.
he needed another few minutes until he had accelerated to the new sight and as he finally got used to it he walked to facet and did something no changeling ever did to another changeling out of real sympathy he hugged him shortly and it felt very strange for both. But both knew that ponies did it and that it was supposed to be something good, so they just went through it fast and didn't speak a word. Sit just wanted to leave as Blade stood up and walked towards him. He looked determined.
"Take this one as well I can live without them for a few days i think." he took one of his wings and pulled it out, letting out a small whimper and then he pulled out the other. He needed much force and it hurt but he also got pushed by something inside of his mind that he couldn't point out.
Sit looked surprised at him and quickly took the wings, appreciating the gift he just. So far he had never thought about getting wings from the bodies he took over. He scolded himself in his mind about that but then smiled faintly as he turned his back liquid and put the wings in place. then he connected muscles and nerves around them. he took nearly five minutes until everything perfectly fit and the first time in his life he flapped wings. it was strange.
He had seen how to do it but never tried it himself. He moved them fast and created some wind, that pushed dirt away before he jumped up a bit and hovered for a few seconds in the air. Then he landed again. He had felt that h would need much, much training until he could fly as everyone else.
"Thank you Blade. I don't know what to say... To you too Facet... I will treasure them for sure" Both looked confused at him for his strange, grateful reaction. Thanking someone was another thing changelings never did.
Sit turned around and walked to the inpatient waiting guard, not looking back. He felt another thing changelings never felt. Guilt.
he knew they would die before the day was over. But it was just a very faint sting in his mind and he couldn't know what it was. But something prevented him from looking at them again. And so he left Facet and Blade alone. With hundreds of murderous changelings, who only waited for the royal drones to leave.
"You took way to much time. But I see that it was worth the waiting." The royal drone grinned and turned around, heading for the exit of the halls.
Sit. A special changeling
The first thing he can remember was the sound of his egg breaking open and a sharp pain in his neck. One of his brothers that was born earlier then him decided to take out rivals. That was nothing uncommon in the hive. It was always a fight among the drones for the favor of their gueen Chrysalis. After her defeat in canterlot the weakened queen of the changelings escaped and started a new hive deep in a mountain at the border of the everfree forest.
Normally a bite in the neck is enough to kill an unborn changeling but not this time. As the changeling bit Sits neck he knew that it was over and let loose of anything and suddenly he was nothing more then a liquid that run through the teeth of the other now confused changelings. Without a second thought Sit did what his instinct told him. He attacked the confused changeling who tried to end his life. Out of the puddle he head jumped out and bit in the neck of the still paralised changeling. Sits teeth went through the small gaps in the shell of the surpirsed changeling. He died nearly immeadiently.
That is how Sits life started. And it went down from that point on.
