The Darkness

Rainbow Dash held the wound in her leg tightly hoping to keep the blood from flowing from bullet hole.

“D..damn this hurts!” She said angrily in pain as she kept a tight hold on her wound. Tears of pain flowed like a river down her as the wound burned. As she held the wound, she heard the sound of hooves walking towards her. She looked up and saw a Unicorn mare with a .10mm Pistol walk up to her. The mare’s fur was red as the blood flowing from Dash’s wound and her mane matched her tail which was short and shadow black. She had dark red eyes and she was wearing a black dress.

“Well, well. If it isn’t the infamous Rainbow Dash. The one who’s snapped necks with her bare hands.” The mare said as she smiled towards Rainbow Dash.

“You know about me?” Dash asked in confusion.

“Of course. Who doesn’t know you? But they’ll know the mare who killed her.” The mare said as she cocked her pistol and pointed it at Dash’s head.

“Before you pull that trigger, can I at least know your name?” Dash asked the mare.

“It’s Mary. Bloody Mary.” The mare replied. Rainbow then closed her eyes and prayed. Bloody Mary then slowly squeezed the trigger of her gun and smiled since she would become famous for killing Dash.

“HEY!” A mare yelled. Bloody Mary stopped and looked to her right. Dash opened her eyes and saw somepony she wished she never saw back there. It was Twilight Sparkle and she had her head dropped.

“Ah….Twilight Sparkle. The sister to Shining Armor who was the once leader of the Crepuscolos.” Bloody Mary said as she removed her pistol from Dash’s cranium.

“I see you’ve researched me.” Twilight said without looking up.

“I have. Hey! She’s here!” Bloody Mary yelled. Then quickly after that, a group of the attackers armed with all sorts of guns appeared and pointed them at her. The sound emitted from Twilight’s mouth was disturbing, no down right bone chilling, to say the least. Twilight, a mare who Rainbow has known to have a laugh that normally felt comforting, now laughed like one that belongs to a pony that needed to be locked up in an insane asylum.

“Oh it’s been so long since I’ve had any real fun! Please do provide me with some form of entertainment before I eat your hearts!” Twilight yelled. Bloody Mary then aimed her pistol at Twilight and fired making her fall over and then she aimed her pistol at Dash.

“Say you’re-” Bloody Mary started. But then a ravenous roar was heard. Rainbow and Bloody Mary looked at Twilight who got up like nothing happened to her and the two went wide eyed when they saw two, black demonic heads armed with spines and fangs erupt from Twilight’s shoulders. But then Bloody Mary shot Dash in her head making blood and brains scatter across the floor and onto Mary’s face. The twin demon heads were long and snake-like creatures that had long serrated teeth and glowing eyes that extended along their bodies. The glow in their eyes, at the moment, were a burning bright yellow color and they seemed to have minds of their own as they lashed out at each other.

“NO I WANT TO RIP APART THE PONIES!” the one over her right shoulder yelled at the left head.

“TOO BAD BROTHER! I CALLED DIBS ON THEM WHENEVER WE RETURNED TO THIS WORLD!” The left one yelled. Twilight stroked both of them with a clawed hand.

“How about you both take half?” Twilight suggested to them.

“AGREED!” The heads roared back happily. The two heads then slithered through the air like snakes as they approached the ponies.

“FUCK! OPEN FIRE!” Bloody Mary ordered as she aimed her gun. The other ponies did as she commanded as fired their guns. The left head grabbed one of the ponies by the hoof and dragged him off as the pony screamed. The right head using its retractable spines sliced through a Griffon sending its blood and intestines flying into the air until they hit the group with a wet and slimy thump. The pony that the left head dragged off came back to the fight and pulled out his gun.

“You okay?” Another pony asked.

“I’m fine. But you’re not.” The pony replied. But then the left head was seen and as it moved its mouth, the pony moved his. The pony then shot his gun and planted a bullet through the other pony’s skull.

“Good job.” The head said happily. The left head then using its large and bulking fangs ripped the pony’s head off bringing the spine with it. The head then dug into the pony’s corpse and brought out his heart and devoured it.

“Tasty.” The head said as it licked its lips. The left head then joined its brother into the slaughter bashing through ponies and griffons. The left head and right head grabbed a pony by her legs with a quick yank in opposite directions, the pony was split in half like a wishbone. “HA I got the bigger half.” The left head teased it’s younger sibling as it wrapped a griffon and the right one tore it’s spine and skull, still connected, from it’s victim leaving a slumped hybrid on the floor dead.

“OH! Here’s a trick I’ve wanted to try since we first met that one two legged creature! What was his name? Ja-key or something?” The right head said. As one it and the other head slithered towards a terrified pony and grabbed her. The left head held the poor mare’s leg open and the right one plunged into the depths of the mares… dark area and pulled her spine and skull out. While this was happening, Twilight grabbed an AK-47 off of a dead Griffon and began to fire at her attackers. She shot and killed 3 ponies and two griffons with the AK before it ran out of ammo. Luckily Twilight remembered her birthday gift Fluttershy had given her before this all happened.

She reached into her holsters that were on her pants and pulled out her purple and violet .44 Magnum and the .44 Magnum that was silver and gold given to her by Shining Armor before he died. She then began to fire at her enemies as the heads ripped any survivors apart and devoured their hearts. The right head grabbed a griffon and wrapped around him like a snake until it popped its head through the griffon’s chest spreading blood everywhere. It then let go of the griffon making its body fall to the ground.

“Mary, I’m almost out of ammo! What are we gonna do?” A pony asked. Bloody Mary didn’t answer him for a minute but came up with an answer.

“Fall back!” Bloody Mary replied as she ran for the door. She was almost out until the left head bit down on her ankle and dragged her back to Twilight who was singing a horrifying tune.

“Mary had a little lamb, little lamb, little lamb. Mary had a little lamb whose fur was bloody red.” Twilight sang as she walked towards the pony. Then the left head raised itself up and held Mary in the air. “Now Mary you know what you did here was wrong didn’t you?” The demonic mare asked her. Normally Mary would have said “Go Buck yourself” but right now that didn’t seem appropriate.

“Y-yes I do a-and I’m s-sorry. Please don’t kill me.” Mary begged, Celestia and Luna above she actually begged for the first time in her life, to the demon in front of her. She prayed that this beast would spare her even though she and her squad killed her friends. Twilight seemed to be considering this for a moment even talking with the two heads on her back. As the conversation ended Twilight turned back towards Bloody Mary with a final decision.

“Okay I’ll spare you and your little squad… On one condition.” Twilight started to tell her.

“Of course! I’ll do anything!” Bloody Mary yelled.

“Alright. Tell me who sent you here to kill me and my friends!” Twilight ordered.

“I...I can’t.” Bloody Mary started. Twilight then gave the mare an angry glare.

“And why not?” Twilight asked in an angry voice.

“B-because I-I was given the money to kill you by somepony with a hood on. I-I never saw his face.” Mary replied. The left head then dragged Bloody Mary closer to Twilight who had an organic metal helm covering her face. Then after a minute of staring at the mare, the left head releases Mary making her drop onto the ground.

“Oh thank you! Thank you!” Bloody Mary said repeatedly as both heads merely started to cackle slightly as though they were sharing a private joke. “What? Did I say something funny?”

“Well… yes and no. Yes because you apparently thought you were going to get away from this unharmed huh? Well too bad. And no because… why the hell not?” Twilight said to the broken mare in front of her. As Mary braced herself for the worst outcome Twilight saw something that interested her. Off in the distance was a glimmer of light that could only be coming from one thing. A sniper rifle.

“Get down!” Twilight said as she tackled Bloody. A bullet zoomed by her mane and then when they looked up, the sniper was gone. When the two mares got up, Twilight glared at Mary and told her, in a very menacing voice, “This changes nothing you nag.” Twilight let the assassin go and saw her stumble over herself. Then as the assassin went out of sight, Twilight felt a surge of pain go through her body. She then felt a massive stinging sensation coming from her shoulders. She then watched the heads that were coming from her shoulders revert back slowly into their spots.

Exceeeeeleeeent Twiiiiiiliiiight! Thisssss wassss an exceeeeleeent massssssacreeeeee The shadow’s voice said to her. Twilight tried to turn around towards some of the mutilated bodies but the moment she saw one that was wishboned her stomach couldn’t handle the sight and she puked.

Whaaaatssss the maaaatterrrrr? Cannnnn’t taaaake a liiiiittleeeee bloooooood? Twilight heard the shadow ask in a sarcastic voice.

“Sorry. I’ve never split somepony in half.” Twilight replied in an irritated tone as she wiped the vomit off her lip.

Weeeeellll doooooon’t wooooorrrrry! It’sssssss only the beeeegiiiiiniiiiing! The shadow yelled happily.

“Okay. But now….it’s time for your part of our deal.” Twilight said.

Yesss, yesss, okay. Five murdered maresss coming right up The shadow said in an almost casual tone as though it was talking about the weather. Within the space of a few moments portions of the shadow started going towards the areas where each of her friends died. The first one that it reached was Applejack who was still slumped up against a wall. Then it was Rarity followed by Fluttershy, Pinkie, and finally Rainbow Dash.

Each of the bodies were then lifted into the air and suddenly arched as though they were in pain. Twilight breathed a sigh of relief as she saw each of her friends coming back to life slowly. Twilight was amazed to watch the bullet holes in her friends refill themselves and to watch Pinkie Pie’s dislocated arm reattach itself by regenerating muscle and skin. The bullets that entered her friends were pulled out from their wounds and fell to the floor. Then the shadow’s glow dropped her friends which fell to their knees which made Twilight happy. The five mares looked up and saw a smiling Twilight staring at them.

“Twilight! Y-you’re alive!” Rainbow yelled as she ran up and hugged her friend tightly. Twilight returned the hug and began to shed tears.

“Twi’ what the buck happened to us? I remember asking ya’ what was wrong and then everything just went blank.” Applejack asked her. Twilight searched through her brain for a suitable answer to tell her friends.

“W-we were attacked. Some hitsquad tried to kill us but we beat them back. The five of you were knocked out by a blast that one of them placed in the building, you would’ve loved to see that Pinkie.” Twilight said quickly. The mares except Dash gasped in shock.

“Oh my. So how’d you beat them back?” Rarity asked her.

Sssshoooow them theeee Darkneeeessss Twiiiiiliiiight! Maaaaakeeeee theeeeeem seeeee why theeeeeessssssseeeeee basssstaaardssss are nooooo moooore!

“I...it’s a long story Rarity. I promise I’ll tell you girls soon. But for now, we’ve gotta get moving. Those hitsquads could have backup coming.” Twilight replied. The group started to run off into the night towards the one place they knew would have answers, The Crepuscolo mansion.
