The Darkness

As Mary ran away from the wreckage of the safe house she and her crew just destroyed she couldn’t help but remember how everything went to Tartarus real fast. First was when the leader of that small group, Twilight Sparkle, somehow survived a shot from her pistol through the head. But then… she remembered the horror that followed her strange revival. She remembered those black, demonic heads that bursted from Twilight’s shoulders and tore through her crew. The Griffons were gutted like a common deer, the Pegasi had their wings clipped and their head yanked from their bodies along with their spinal cords, the Unicorns were slashed to pieces by the head’s spines, and the Earth Ponies were mutilated all together.

And her best friend had her skull and spine yanked out of her….dark area. Normally something like this would have made her want to kill the mare even more but after seeing what that monster was capable of she didn’t want to chance it. Plus she spared her. Despite everything that happened her target, a ruthless hitmare herself, spared her. Mary promised herself that one day she would repay the favor to her and she never broke a promise to anypony. She finally made it back to the mansion she was told to go to should the mission succeed or fail. Bloody Mary opened the door and closed it behind her.

“Now where’s the gas?” Bloody asked herself as she checks the mansion. Then when she looked into where Shining Armor’s office was, in his desk she found a special gas grenade. It was filled with knockout gas that knocked out the victim of it for a few hours. With it in her hand, she ran out of the office and hid somewhere. Meanwhile, the Mane Six made their way to the mansion and walked in.

“Now Twilight, why are we here?” Rainbow asked.

“To get some answers about who tried to make us swiss cheese. I have a strong feeling that whoever paid Bloody Mary and her crew paid them here.” Twilight replied.

“But why would one of our own family put a hit on us?” Applejack asked with a curious voice.

“You know that some of the family hates us. It could be anypony in the family.” Rarity said.

Twiiiiiliiiight! Daaaangeeeeerrrr! The demon from earlier told Twilight. She was about to turn around and warn them when.

“WHO IN TARNATION SAID THAT?!” Applejack yelled. Rarity had a look of confusion on her face as well.

“Darling I assure you that we are alone in-”

Aaaarrrreeee you aaallllooonnneeee Rarrritttyyy BBBBeeeelllleeeee? A voice called out, much more elegant than the one Twilight heard before. Rarity nearly screamed out in shock before they heard the sound of something rolling on the ground.

“GAS!” Pinkie screamed but it was all in vein as the grenade expelled it’s contents and the mares, coughing all the way through, soon slumped into unconsciousness. Twilight was the last to slip into a dreamless sleep as she noticed a familiar mare wearing a gas mask walk up to her.

“Bloody Mary. You...bitch.” Twilight said as she fell to the ground.

“Sweet dreams Twilight.” Bloody said with a smile. Bloody then takes her phone from her pocket and dials a number and places it towards her ear.

“Hey it’s me. I got the mares.” Bloody Mary said.

Excellent. I’ll send somepony over to get them. Just...leave them by the door. The pony on the other end said.

“Alright. Bye.” Bloody said as she ends the call. As she is about to leave Bloody looks down and notices that Twilight is still at her hooves. She wanted more than anything to leave this bitch here but then she remembered that she owed Sparkle her life. So being as cautious as she could be Bloody Mary picked up Twilight and pulled her over her shoulder and hid Twilight along with herself in a nearby room with plenty of light to see what will happen. Bloody watched a group of stallions come through the mansion’s door and grab the five mares. The stallions then dragged the mares through the door and they drove off from the mansion. Bloody let out a sigh of relief but then she stood still when she heard this.

“Ey’! Watcha doin’ with me’ pony?!” A demonic but yet Coltney-like voice asked. Bloody Mary turned her head and saw a knee high creature. It looked like a dragon but with dark purple scales and spines, bright glowing eyes, and it was wearing a Coltney flag shirt.

“Aww! You’re so cute.” Bloody Mary said in a tone an adult would talk to a baby. The creature seemed repulsed by this and nearly tore out her hair.

“Aye’ suggest you take that back ya’ nasty little nag!” The creature yelled. As the two struggled neither noticed that the guest of the hour started waking up. As Twilight started to get up slowly she saw Bloody Mary struggling with… a midget dragon? No it looked like a dragon but it was no where near enough to be considered even a drake. She tackled the mare and knocked both to the ground. “OY’! What the bloody Tartarus was tha’ for eh’?” The creature shouted at Twilight. But her attention wasn’t focused on the small creature rather the mare that was so dumb to actually come into her home and knock outher friends only to have them taken away. Oh yes she was going to enjoy making her suffer.

YEEEEESSSSSS! MAAAAAKEEEEE HEEEEER SSSSSUFFEEEER! RIIIIP OOOOUT HEEEEER HEEEEART! The demon sounded like it was about to have an orgasm at the mere prospect of her killing this mare. Just as the first head started to poke out Bloody Mary propped up her hand. “WAIT PLEASE I’M SORRY OKAY! I’M SORRY FOR TAKING YOUR FRIENDS AWAY FROM YOU THE FIRST TIME AND TRUST ME I REALLY WANTED TO GO HOME AFTER WHAT I JUST SAW TONIGHT!”

“Why should I spare you?” Twilight asked her.

“Yeah? Why should she spare ya’ life?” The creature asked.

“Look! I owed you for sparing me! So now I’m taking my debt!” Mary replied.

“I call bullshit on that! You sent me’ friend ere’ to snoozy land! And you ad’ her friends taken away from er’!” The creature said angrily.

“I know! And I’m sorry! I’ll really make it up to you! I’m specialized in getting guns, vehicles, anything you need! Please just don’t kill me!” Bloody pleaded. Twilight merely stared at the mare as she decided about what to do.

“Watcha’ gonna do?” The creature asked his friend. Twilight turned towards him and then the head she just summoned up before she decided.

“I… will spare you. As long as you help us out with our little situation I promise no harm will befall you. But if you even so much as try and backstab me and my friends I will end you personally understood?” Twilight finished with a menacing glare. Bloody Mary then leaned forwards and hugged Twilight’s legs.

“Oh thank you, thank you, thank you! I promise I’ll help you with anything!” Bloody Mary said happily.

“Well now that that’s done, care to tell me about you?” Twilight asked as she stared at the small creature.

“No prob’! I’m what’s known as a Darkling. But call me Spike. I came from your noggin so anytime I can appear!” The creature said with a smile on his toothy face.

“Well Spike, care to tell me about my...condition?” Twilight asked as she quoted.

“Oh that. It’s something special it is. It’s what I and other Darklings call ‘The Darkness’.” Spike said with a bit of enthusiasm in his voice. Twilight gave him a stern looking face before she nearly broke out laughing.

WHHHAAAATTTTT ISSSSS SSSSSSOOOO FFFFUUUUNNNNYYYYYY AAAAABOOOOUTTTTT MMMMMY NNNNAAAAMMMMEEEEE! The demonic voice rang inside of Twilight’s head. The loudness of the voice made Twilight clench her head in pain. The Darkness only laughed at her as her headache increased. Bloody Mary just stood there flabbergasted as to what just happened.

“Never make fun of the Darkness Twilight. It’ll buck you up real good it will.” Spike warned.

“Thanks. So Mary, where are my friends being taken?” Twilight asked the mare.

“They’re being taken to a hidden prison somewhere in Appleoosa. It’ll take us a few days to get there.” Mary replied.

“Appleoosa? Great! Down some cider, buck a few mares, it’ll be fun!” Spike said happily as he jumped in the air.

“No Spike. We’ll be going there to get my friends.” Twilight assured.

“Aww. Can we at least get some cider while we’re there?” Spike asked her. Twilight let out a groan knowing Spike won’t let out of this.

“Alright.” Twilight said to him.

“Sweet! Alright, let’s get crackin’! So how we gonna get to Appleoosa?” Spike asked as he leaped onto Twilight’s back.

“I don’t know Spike. We can’t get there by train or by hoof. I guess we’ll drive.” Twilight replied as she headed for the armory.

“Ooh! Ooh! Can I drive Twi’?” Spike asked in an excited voice.

“Buck no! By how you act you’ll run over anything that moves!” Twilight yelled.

“Party pooper!” Spike said angrily.

“I’ll get you a car Twilight. A fast one.” Mary said as she dialed on her phone.

“Thank you Mary. So Spike, can you summon more like you?” Twilight asked as she placed ammo in her Magnums.

“Sure can! Anytime ya’ need backup, just give me a call and the Darklings will come running to ya’!” Spike replied boldly. With that the Darkling leapt into a nearby hole in the ground, which Twilight assumed was a portal to his dimension, and vanished. She turned back to Bloody Mary who just closed her phone.

“I just finished talking with my contact. He’ll be here in a few moments. So what’s the plan boss?” Bloody asked Twilight, earning a surprised look from the lavender mare. “What? I don’t work for that creepy ass stallion anymore so you're my new boss.” She stated. Twilight merely nodded and turned back as she loaded her last round into her left magnum. As she placed her gun into it’s holster she turned towards a machine gun on the wall. Twilight grabbed it, loaded it with as many bullets as it would fit, and placed it on her back. She then heard the sound of a car horn. She walked out of the armory and saw Mary inside a dark purple Ferrari.

“Sweet ride Mary.” Twilight said as she jumped in the driver’s seat. She turned the car on but before she drove off, she felt something cling to her seat. She turned her head and saw Spike.

“What? You’d think I’d miss this? Let’s go!” Spike screamed happily. Twilight then slammed the motor and the three began their journey to Appleoosa.
