Chapter 18

A soft knock wakes me.

Groaning I get up, stretching myself, I yawn. Walking to the door and opening it, I stiffle another yawn.

A blade runs through my chest, deeply impaling itself in my heart.

My eyes rush open, I gasp, lifting a hoof to my chest, feeling the warm fur, the skin, the sweat on both.

I was unhurt.

'A nightmare?' I was still gasping, trying to order my confused thoughts.

A soft knock on the door sends a shiver down my spine. Slowly slipping out of the sheets I walk to the door, stopping in front of it.

"Who's there?" I call out through the door, not opening it even an inch.

"It's Dream Dancer" the answer came muffled through the door. A mare.

Slowly opening the door I look at the mare in front of me.

A pink coated earth pony mare, her mane and tail in the same colour, a dark red streak running through it, she had beautiful and bright blue eyes and her flank adorned a sun alike insignia. She smiles at me and takes a quick bow.

"Hello miss Siren" her voice was calming and reassuring, warm, friendly, "I am Dream Dancer, I am Celestias-" she stopps midsentence, taking a deep quivering breath before she looks back at me, "Excuse me, I am Lunas personal secretary and I was send to check up on you" her smile returned to her face.

I'm overwhelmed, her smile, her personality, everything about her radiates gratefulness. She was grateful for everything she had. It was so strange to see a pony like that, happy for being just there, for being just a pony.

It was strange and I didn't like it.

I return a fake smile and nod, "thanks, everything is fine" I answer. Her smile widens as she hears my answer, I take a step back.

"Fiiiine then" she turns around but stopps almost instantly, she turns her head to me looking deep into my eyes, still smiling.

"Have you seen captain Shining Armor?" her voice was still a happy chirping.

I furrow my brow.

"No" I shake my head, "he came by yesterday evening to check up on me, we talked for a bit and then he left, saying something like he needed to talk to his sister" Dancer nods, she smiles again.

"Thaaaaaanks" she turns back around, walking down the hallway.

The instant she is out of sight I rush back in and close the door, locking it.

A shiver runs down my spine.

Something about this pony was creepy. Her happiness was infectious, it was like she could force anypony around her to feel happy.

That was strange.

I yawn, looking at the clock on the nightsstand I notice that it's only six in the morning.

'Far too early for me' I think tired and walk back to my bed, slipping under the sheets.

The moment my head touches the pillow I fall asleep.

"You returned again" Happiness giggles.

"Have I?" I ask, not even sure that I exist right now.

"You have" darkness covers everything, only Happiness and I are left.

"Why do I keep returning?" I ask Happiness.

Her smile widens, "you do because you are still looking for answers" her wing folds itself around me, pulling me into a warm embrace.

I sigh, a pleasant sigh. Nothing compared to the softness of pegasi down.

"What kind of answers?" I ask her whispering into her ears.

"You have so much questions" she giggles, "you won't find any answers if you keep on changing the question" her voice fades away.

"Choose a question, before you ask for an answer" my eyes open.

It was almost noon now. I slip out of the sheets and yawn weakly.

"Nothing as good as a good sleep" I smile and walk to the bathroom.

A hot shower later I walk out of the bathroom, my eyes closed and a smile on my face, a pleasant sigh escaping my lips.

"I was wrong" I shake my head, "nothing as good as a long hot shower in the morning."

"True" Shning says, startling me again, I jump and shriek falling back onto my haunches I hear him laugh.

Again.

I jump at him, knocking him down, I stand over him, a fake stern look on my face.

"I told you to not sneak up on me!" Shining giggles and after a second I giggle too.

After a few seconds he looks up at me, a blush on his face, seeing my still slightly moist coat, he clears his throat.

"Could you go off of me now please?" a sly smile apears on my face.

"And what if I don't?" I purr, his cheeks are practically burning now.

"Please?" he almost whinces and I giggle, getting off of him.

He clears his throat again and gets back up, looking at me, still blushing his face turns into the stern mask.

It was pretty damn cute to see him like that.

"Princess Luna send me" he was still red as a cherry, his voice slightly off chart, he was embarrassed.

"What does she want?" I ask friendly, my voice still a purr.

"She wants to talk to you in her private study" Shinings red cheeks slowly turn white, concern appears on his face.

"She was strange today" he adds.

I furrow my brow, "strange? Like what?" worry wells up in me.

"I don't know" he shakes his head, "just strange, I can't really explain it" I nod, turning around to pick up Garnjiel.

Garnjiel was off. It's primary rune was dark, not any light escaping.

I furrow my brow.

Usually, if the rune was off, it meant that the host of the rune was dead.

If my own rune was off it either meant I'm dead or Garnjiels magic got dispelled.

Slowly lifting the hilt.

Garnjiels edge kept lying on the floor. The hilt in my mouth I fall back to my haunches.

Garnjiel was destroyed.

I dropp the hilt. Garnjiels whole edge was cut off right at the hilt, seperating hilt and blade completly.

Shining walks closer seeing my broken weapon, confusion reflecting in his eyes.

"I thought you said your weapons are almost indestructible" he looks at me, I start to shiver.

"Not almost" I gasp, "they are indestructible, they are immune to magic and there is no other material that could break dragotharium, the only magic that managed to do this was discords chaos magic" I explain, looking down on th broken blade, my eyes widen, I turn around to look Shining deep into his eyes.

"Is Discord still alive?" he looks down on me, shaking his head.

"No" his voice was still showing his confusion, "he died almost a century ago during the battle with the alicorn sisters" he explained quickly.

"Did he have children?" Shining shakes his head again.

I turn back to Garnjiel and sigh.

"I need a new weapon" I pick up the broken edge, it's weight now slowing me down.

"What do you want to do with that?" Shining asks, worry in his eyes.

"The memorial statues" I walk to the door, unlocking it.

I stopp.

Turning around to Shining Armor, my brows furrowed.

"Did you teleport in?"

"Hm?" Shining looks at me, "oh, yeah, the door was locked and I didn't want to unlock it" I nod and turn back around, opening the door.

"Please" I walk out, ignoring Shinings reaction, "don't do that ever again" I walk down the hallway.

Atfer a few minutes of walking I hear someone running through the same hallway I am right now, looking behind me I see Shining approaching, turning back around I keep walking.

He runs up to me and slows down next to me, walking at my side, he was slightly gasping.

"What do you want?" I ask him, not slowing down.

"You need someone to open the statues" he explains still gasping, "and princess Luna wants to meet you afterwards" I nod.

Silence, nothing but the sounds of our steps echoing through the hallway.

After a few minutes of silence we are finally there.

Shining takes a step forward, his horn emitting light.

The door slowly opens, the sun on the door slowly changing in a eclipse.

The doors are fully opened.

Garnjiels hilt hits the ground.

All five statues are destroyed.

A tear streams down my cheeks, anger and pain welling up inside me.

Garnjiels rune returns to life.

The blade erupts in magic, more cracks forming the blade shatters, shards of it digging deep into my back.

"You can't escape me"

Shinings shouts are the last thing I hear before I blackout.

Yay! Cliffhanger! I know, it's a rather short chapter and I try to make the next bigger. I'm sorry for any errors and flaws you might find, my family is annyoing me right now, sorry for that.

Well yeah, who could have done that? Who destroyed the statues and most of all, who managed to break an indestructible material?

The answer? Well I spoiler so much, it wasn't Luna....

Or was she?

Nah in the end I won't spoiler anything, pff that would destroy all the fun writing the story.

And story unrelated, yay Dream Dancer!
