Time never stands still
Garnjiel the behemoth
Previous ChapterNext ChapterChapter 19
"What happened?" I hear a faint voice, faint images of Luna standing over me looking down on me flash before my eyes.
"You can't escape" something growls behind me.
I turn around.
Ganjiel was levitating in the air, slowly twirling.
"What have you done?" I ask, my voice echoes through the hollow inky blackness that surrounds me.
"You can't escape" Garnjiel growls again, light emitting from the rune.
The light rushes out, shaping itself into a new body.
A giant body.
Red, scaly, thorns, horns, claws, wings.
My eyes widen as I recognize the shape.
A dragon.
Taking a deep breath, his roar shatters the darkness around me, blinding and forcing me to close my eyes.
After a few seconds I open them again.
I was... somewhere, a place with no real floor, there were stars, millions of stars.
Garnjiel was gone.
"YOU CAN'T ESCAPE MY HATE!" I look up, my eyes widen as I see him high above me, taking a deep breath, he breaths white burning flames, that rain down on me.
I jump to the side, trying to dodge the flames.
It's too late, I raise my hooves, trying to shield myself from the flames as good as possible.
"You can do it" she whispers, "fight the hate!"
I lower my hooves, looking at the scene before me.
Happiness was burning.
She turns around, her coat and mane turning black and disappearing, flying away as ash.
She smiles.
"There is happiness" her voice was rough and raspy, her neck burning.
"You just have to find and share it."
A wave of white light escapes her desintegrating body as she disappears.
A giant platform made of white runes appears.
Garnjiel shrieks as the wave hits him, his wings change in the white light, from their former dark red and bat like form to pure white and resembling more like those of a swan now, not able to use his wings anymore he falls down onto the platform.
Shaking his massive head, he gets back up looking down on me, every breath he exhales sends burning steam out of his nostrils.
"Happiness is not weakness" her voice was faint and weak.
"Fight the hate in your heart."
Garnjiel roars another time, his magic surrounding him, his body shrinking.
My eyes widen, everything went by so fast my brain couldn't even comprehend everything that happened now.
Before me was something that resembled Skull in her nemesis form. But this was bigger and, more complete, than her.
It was bigger than Celestia and bipedal. His feet had turned into hooves which had long pointy claws, scratching over the floor every step he took, his lower body was athletic, a tail wriggling behind him. His upperbody was masculine, his arms long and wiry, his whole body was plated with massive black scales.
I recoil, almost falling off the platform.
His frontclaws had changed or to be precise, they were missing.
Everything down his wrist was one big blade. They weren't even claws anymore. This were big bulky claymores growing right out of his wrists, runes engraved into them.
They looked like Garnjiel.
His head hadn't changed so much after all, just got smaller and instead of two long horns over each temple it now had one long horn on it's skull, looking almost like an alicorns.
His wings.
Hadn't changed.
They were as big as before.
As white as before.
The wings of a swan.
Garnjiel scoffs, raising both his blades over his head he places them between his bladebones.
One loud shredding sound later both wings fall to the floor.
But instead of the sound of flesh or something soft hitting the floor, a metalic sound echoes through this realm.
My eyes wander down to the cut off wings, the wings had lost their down, both were now long, slender scimitars and coloured in pure white.
They were my chance.
A massive, earth shattering stomp hits one of the blades, crushing it under the force, burning cracks appearing in the runes where the stomp hit them.
Garnjiel shrieks as white energy escapes the broken blade, sending him stumble back a few steps, flailing around his weapons to get the light off of him.
'This is your last chance' my mind shouts, 'do it! Now!' I get up and run towards the blade.
Garnjiels right blade lands right in front of me, I feel massive heat coming from the blade.
"You think I will let you take it?" he scoffs and lifts his other blade, "you are thousand years to early to fight me!" he roars as the blade rushes down towards me. I jump over the blade impaled in the platform, singing my coat on the hot steam that escapes the blades.
'Faster!' my mind shouts, my hooves move faster.
'Faster!' even faster, I start to gasp.
And then I'm there, I fall to my knees, slide the last few steps on them and grab the blades hilt, I bring my hooves back under me, twirl around and ready myself.
I wasn't ready for that.
While I picked up the blade, Garnjiel freed himself, pulling the blade out of the platform and followed me.
His left blade was stuck in me.
He lifts me up, still on his blade, there was no blood, the wounds were cauterized instantly. I cough and look down on him as he prepares his righ blade to cleave me in half.
This is my end.
The white blade falls out of my mouth, impaling itself in the platform.
I see his blade rushing towards me, I close my eyes, not wanting to see it. Just knowing it would be hard enough.
Time stopps.
Slowly opening my eyes I see his blade inches away from my body, the heat was already burning my coat, turning it black.
I look down onto the blade in my chest, I could see that flames start to form around the wound, burning me down.
Clarity struck my thoughts.
Lifting my numb hooves I place them on the blade, pressing against them I pull myself off the blade, slowly inch for inch, the sound of ripping flesh haunting me every inch I manage to pull myself farther off the blade.
And then that moment is gone, time goes on as I land on the floor, collapsing.
Garnjiels strike flies through the air but without any resistance he sends his blade too far, in a crescent move the blade slices his left arm off. He shrieks as his arm lands on the floor, turning white.
No blood was coming out of the stump.
I see it, even while my eyelids droop, even while my body loses any feeling. I can see him, shrieking and flailing. My eyes widen as a last thought runs through my mind.
'There is happiness, even now. You just have to find it'
My eyes open.
Not for me.
Only darkness.
There is no one I want to see in death.
My long dead parents, my father who hated me, my mother who ignore my pleadings.
My comrades which died long after me, which had probably long forgotten how I even looked like.
My fiancé who turned into a monster who killed his own daugther.
A tear escapes my eyes as the eyeslids droop.
Sealing my eyes and my faith.
"We don't need your dakness!" someone shouts, I don't recognize the voice. It was a male voice and young, that's all I could tell.
I hear another one of Garnjiels roars, the battlecry of a brave stallion and the sound of a weapon piercing flesh.
My eyes are still closed, I can't feel anything.
" ...... you don't have to worry anymore" the stallion whispers, his voice close to my ears.
"You will find your happiness" my eyelids flutter, "you will find it. And once you found it you will find your peace" his voice was filled with sorrow.
"But before that you can't die, you can't die before you haven't found it"
"I wouldn't forgive you"
Silence.
"And I'm sorry for breaking the statues"
My eyes rush open.
A cry is the first thing to escape my mouth.
"Oh shit!" a pony cries out stunned, "she's awake! The narcotic failed!"
"We can't wait any longer!" another voice answers the first, "just fasten her limbs so she can't hurt herself anymore!"
I feel straps of massive leather get tighten around my four legs and my neck, pulling them down, fasten them on the table, making it impossible to move.
It was crucial.
Lying there, not to be able to move, not able to see. Only to hear the sound of ripping flesh and the sound of metal scratching over other materials. Sometimes the sound of some other metalic things hitting something. It sounded like small shards of metal that land on a marble floor.
It was crucial.
It was torturing.
And I couldn't escape it.
As much as I wished to return into the blackness to not hear them anymore, to not feel them cut into my back. I couldn't escape. My body wouldn't allow me to slip away.
After that time ran faster. The sounds got faster and high pitched, almost impossible to comprehend them, the voices of the ponies were strangely muffled and diffuse.
Finally it stopped.
I don't know how long it took, whatever they did. Were it hours? Days? Longer? I couldn't tell.
All I could tell was that I am pretty tired.
My eyes close.
"Where can I find my happiness?"
"Sometimes all you need to do is wait for it" she smiles, her bright smile warming my numb body as her wing folds around my torn back.
"Sometimes it will find you"
Author's Note
You all thought Garnjiel was just a sword eh? Haha I tricked you! .... Wait....
Well here's another chapter, not as long as I thought it would get but hey atleast a update!
It's not like I'm updating atleast once a week....
So Garnjiel was pretty overpowered eh? Well yeah he was supposed to be, after all he is the mightiest of them. Who is 'them' will be explained somwhere in the next chapters.
I don't know why but the scene where the stallion says that he is sorry that he destroyed the statues made me laugh, I can't really tell why but it just did.
I'm weird! Don't hate me for that!
And because I'm tired I say good night, and please excuse any flaws or errors you might find, I will look over this chapter tomorrow and try to find any mistakes.
Well...
Whatever...
See ya next chapter.
