Chapter 2: The School Day

As they arrived at school, Sight gave Dark and Shadow a kiss on the forehead and bid her farewells. As they got into the school house, it seemed that a lot of the good seats were already took, but Dark quickly got a seat in the middle, so he wasn't far away from the teacher, and not to close either.

The lesson was very dull, but Dark carried on, though, he was utterly bored, because the teacher, known as Miss Firefly, was reviewing things that Dark already knew before he advanced the grade. Shadow was in a different room, because this was her first year at the school, and he was sure she made some friends by now. As for Dark, he was more of a loner, and didn't have any friends, and if he did, it was for a good five seconds before they cheated him out of his lunch, or took something from him.

After a couple hours of boring lectures from Miss Firefly, she released them for a lunch break. On the way to the lunch room, he felt uneasy, as if something, somewhere, was watching him. He shrugged it off, thinking it might have been one of the teachers thinking he misbehaved somehow, though, he still couldn't shake the feeling completely until they and the rest of the class reached the lunch room. Dark brought his own lunch, and was able to sit next to Shadow, which shared cookies with him, and he shared some cakes that Sight made for him.

After the lunch break, they went back to the class room, and resumed their lessons until Miss Firefly released the class for recess. Everyone passed right before Dark, and knocked him down, making him hit his head on the side of the door. "Oh! Dear, are you alright?" Miss Firefly asked

"I am fine, Miss Firefly." Dark replied, rubbing his head. Miss Firefly nodded "Be careful dear, don't wanna see you get hurt." This made Dark smile a bit, as he went outside for recess.

As he was trotting around, he saw lots of foals having fun, including his sister. This made him smile quite a bit, because he loved his sister because she could make him smile, no matter what. After awhile though, he started to have the same feeling as before, and looked around to see if someone was watching him.

While looking around, he noticed a strange looking pony in the distance, but from where he was standing, he could not make out anything from the pony except that he looked like a black blur in the distance. Miss Firefly called the class back inside for pick-ups, and when Dark looked back at the spot he saw the pony in, the black blur seemed to have disappeared.

He went inside and grabbed his backpack, and waited for Shadow. After waiting for what seemed like forever, his sister was bouncing as if she met the love of her life. This made Dark laugh, and his sister joined in with small giggles, though, she didn't know what was so funny. They went outside, and waiting on the sidewalk for their mother.

Dark started to look around, and saw some colts and fillies with their mothers and fathers. This made Dark sigh slightly, and think back. He had a dad once, LightSwirl was his name, but he died of a disease while Sight was pregnant with Shadow.

"You ok there, Sweetie?" his mother asked. This made Dark jump, because he did not know she was already there, waiting for him to come out from his stupor. "I-I.....I'm fine, mom" he said, with a shaky breath.

She nodded, and Dark walked with his sister and mother all the way home
