The Mysterious Letter

The sun was high in the sky and Twilight sat in the main room of the library picking out various romance novels that have mare and mare couples in them.

She had gathered a pile of about six books.

Out of the soon to be hundred books she have looked through there weren't many books on mare and mare couples.

“Well at least it is something to read while i wait for the picnic with this mare to begin.” Twilight said while shelving all the books she did not need.

Taking the six books she had pick out, Twilight headed upstairs to her bedroom where Spike was backing his bag.

“Are you already going over to the Cutie mark crusaders sleepover Spike?” Twilight asked while putting the books down on her study table.

“Yea got the be there early to make sure they don’t burn down or destroy whatever they are going to do this week.” he said while closing the top of his bag.

“Well i wish you luck while you are there. And spike.”

“Yea?”

“You are going to sleep in separate rooms right?” Twilight said with a serious look on her face.

“Wh...Twilight we are only kids. And besides i have no interest in the CMC in that way.”

Twilight then dropped her serious face and started to giggle, spike looking at her with irritated eyes.

“Oh Spike i’am only joking, you have fun.” Twilight said while trying to stop laughing.

Spike then proceeded to head out, he said his goodbye to Twilight and Twilight returned to the books she gathered up earlier.

Two hours passed and five out of the six books have been read Twilight looked up at the clock to see that it was almost 5 o'clock.

She put the book down and went in to the bathroom to get ready. Taking a quick shower she started to get nervous.

The thought on that she did not know who her date was frightening her.

What would she do if it was one of her friends? Stopping the train of thought she looked up at the clock and saw that if she delayed any longer she would be late.

Heading out the door Twilight started to trot towards the hill that the note described.

Halfway there Twilight saw Rarity together with a pony who had a black cloak over the pony. Twilight decided to ask Rarity about it some other time as if she was late enough as it was.

Just a few meters away Twilight looked up towards the sky where a rainbow trail caught her eye, it was heading towards Sweet Apple Acres.

Twilight could swear that she saw something read in the pegasus mouth but again she decided on to talk to Rainbow about it later.

She now arrived at the spot and saw that a red and white blanket was spread out under a tree.

Twilight saw a lavender flower close to the tree she was sitting under and decided to pick it up and place it in her mane, Might as well look like she wanted to impress her mysterious date.

With only the wind as sound it was easy hearing hoof steps in the grass closing in on the alicorn.

“I’am glad you came Twilight” A soft smooth voice called out.

Twilight knew that voice without looking at the mare, that timid voice belonged to one of her closest friends.

“F-Fluttershy” Twilight said while turning around to her cream colored friend with widened eyes.

Looking at Twilight reaction Fluttershy wanted nothing else than to fly away right then and there.

But she have gather the courage in three weeks to be able to do this, to be able to confess to the love of her life.

Yet with all this courage she was still afraid of how Twilight would respond.

Fluttershy simply hid behind her mane to cover the blush that was going on on her cheeks.

“Fluttershy are you the one that have been sending me the notes these past three weeks?” Twilight asked in a calming voice and a kind look in her face. Yet she was not smiling, all Fluttershy could do was nod and come out of her mane a little bit.

Putting a hoof on Fluttershy’s cheek to be able to se her face and look her in the eye’s Twilight could see that Fluttershy had something in her eye, a small glint that made Twilight realize that Fluttershy was speaking the truth.

“I’am not mad nor am i freaked out Fluttershy. I just want to know, in all those notes you sent me. Did you mean every single word of it?”

Twilight took her hoof away from Fluttershy and sat herself down so that Fluttershy may speak.

“Y-Yes i did. I have had this feeling whenever i’am with you ever since the Discord incident. After that day that you saved me i have had a tingly feeling every time i come near you or saw you. At first i thought it was only a temporary crush, you know something that would go away after Two to three weeks. But no it kept growing and growing until i my face was like a tomato just by being in contact with you. I then a little about four weeks ago realized that i love you Twilight, at first i was going to visit you and tell you but i did not have the courage to do it so i just started to write a note, but not having the bravery to but my name on it i thought i would write you one note every week until i felt comfortable to tell you. That day being today.” After explaining her situation and taking a minute to calm down, Fluttershy just have one question on her mind.

“So now that you know this what do you say Twilight? Will you be my special somepony?”

Fluttershy looked at Twilight with hopeful eyes and Twilight saw the determination and emotion that was in the eye’s of one of her best friend. Thinking about her feeling towards Fluttershy, Twilight could honestly say that she did love Fluttershy. What she wasn't sure about was did she love her in that way.

“I-I don't know how to tell you this Fluttershy but i honesty don’t know what i feel. Maybe give me some time to think about this would make my feelings towards you a little clearer, because now my mind is just a little foggy and i can’t think straight.”

Hearing this Fluttershy's hart started to hurt just a little bit. But she understood and was willing to give Twilight the time she needed.

“I can understand that you want some time to give this some thought, that is who you are after all and one of the reasons i love you. I was not expecting an answer from you at once. So take the time you need and i hope to have your answer soon.”

With that Fluttershy went up to Twilight to gave her a hug. They stayed like that for a little while and when they broke apart Twilight moved to Fluttershy and gave her a kiss on her cheek.

“See you soon Fluttershy and hear i want you to have this.” Twilight said while taking the flower she had in her main and put it in Fluttershy’s own. With smile on her face Twilight started to walk home.

Fluttershy started to walk toward her cottage with a small blush on her face, thinking about what the next few days that were to come had to bring her.

Coming around the corner towards Golden oaks library Twilight could see two ponies standing outside of it.

One of these ponies being Rarity and the other the pony with the black cloak on that Twilight saw with Rarity earlier that day.

"Rarity what are you doing here so late?" Twilight asked with a hint of concern on her voice.

Rarity and the otter pony turned around to look at Twilight.

"Oh you are hear? good i was afraid that we had to put this on old. May we come in Twilight?" Rarity asked while letting Twilight pass them  and open the door.

"Yea sure just come it." Twilight sat herself down in the middle of the library and looked towards Rarity who was looking at the pony beside her.

Taking the hood of to show her face Twilight was a bit shocked to see who this pony was.

"Trixie?" Twilight said while looking at the show mare that was now in her library.
