Lunar Light
Memories
Previous ChapterThe students trudged up the stairs. It was cold and damp but Moonshine could see large stained glass windows, she recognized these. This was the story of the elements of harmony and how they defeated discord and nightmare moon. From the inside of the large castle she could see it was raining. its almost like the sky in the everfree took pity on us and cried... she thought and sighed. Her pace slowed as she came up to a large door, it was cracked open. She stopped at stared at it almost in a trance. Suddenly everything went black and she couldn't see anything. She heard hoof steps around her of a crowd forming, she could hear the medical doctors coming. She felt pain and the bed under her.

As the world slowly came back to her, she was in a white room. She could hear two voices speaking one more harsh and powerful and the other, calm and serene. One figure walked in, her vision still blurred. The figure was wide eyed. Was...she home? Was this figure her mother? No, the figure couldn't have she was too tall, and the walls were made of a light colored stone, one she wasn't familiar with. When her vision was clear enough, she could tell the figure was nightmare moon herself. no it doesn't seem right to call her nightmare moon. This side of her acts more like Luna, the Luna I knew and loved.Nightmare moon or Luna knelt down closer to the bed and...smiled. Not a wicked smile, a friendly smile, a smile of love and joy. She had remembered her! The nursed walked in and she had returned to her other side, the wicked Luna. "Nurse Black heart, this patient is injured far beyond your medical training, I shall take her to my quarters until she is healthy, although I highly suggest she stay after she is well, just as a precaution." She sternly said. The nurse simply nodded and glanced at Moonshine, then back at Luna.

The trip through a long hallway was a breeze, although Moonshine got concerned looks at medical ponies and guards as the bed slowly moved through a long hall. To pass the time she looked at all the stained glass windows and tried to recognize them from stories. It seemed they all played out the parts of history. Next thing she knew she was in a large room. The rolling bed was in the corner. She must've passed out. There was a marble table next to her, it had a glass of water and a flower on it. Luna walked over and raised her helmet off of her head. It was then set on the table, She rested her head on the bed beside Moonshine. "I'm sorry" she whispered in a voice that was made of tears. Moonshine opened her eyes "wha?" She asked confused. "Oh um...my queen" Moonshine said hoping that she would offend her if she had said anything else. She sat up in bed and Luna hugged her. "Moonshine, it's been a long time hasn't it? You remember me? Luna? It's me! I'm just...different now? Remember?" She asked worried for the young pony. "Yes...I remember though I didn't expect you would..." She was nudged gently in the shoulder. Nightmare moon sounded sweet and kind like Celestia did almost able to compare the voice to her old one. "Good now that I've found you, I don't want to lose you ever again. Now can you walk?" That was a silly question. "Of course my queen." She had repeated the queen part, though she acted less villainous, she didn't want to anger her. "Please just call me nightmare moon, well I suppose that is a bit long, just call me what you want." She turned to the balcony. "Even...Luna?" She asked. Their gaze met, surprised at the mention of the old name "Yes, I don't mind." She said. "Now does thou want to see the moon rise?"
