Earth, it's all but a distant shadow now... Since they arrived; demons that feed on the flesh of humans for sheer amusement, no one really remembers when it happened or why, we were too busy fending off the 'zombies', sure the army would've handled it, or at least you'd think so; poor sods went down after 1 week with the monsters, all the human race wiped out.
No one really keeps track of time, the remaining 'humans' are now living underground, they've evolved into cannibalistic barbarians and are now strictly carnivorous ever since the 'cure' was discovered, it made us almost immune to the virus, but there were side effects, horrible, disgusting, side effects... It made us more athletic but it was designed to make evolution happen faster by forcing us to age faster but it gave us the amazing ability to generate our own electricity so there was no need to further pollute the world even more than our 'ancestors' have by burning strange black rocks.
We aged two times faster than our ancestors did and the effect of zombie bite would still infect inhuman or non immune people and our bodies were oh so deformed but on the plus side; we could generate our own electricity, if you wanted you could say I'm the last human although, I'm not really human; I didn't want to look so horrendous and age so fast so instead I only took one half of the immunising drug which means there's a slight chance I could still carry the infection but it'd take hold considerably slower and I'd only age 25% more than people who didn't take the drug instead of the 50% from taking all of it, but I wasn't as fast as others, but I wasn't as ugly either our ancestors would've referred to some of us as giant moles.
I think now I'm around 20 years old, one day while I was venturing with my group we came across 'a basement', it had a lot of things but one thing took my eye the most (I was 14 at the time) there was a black box that was and a TV on top of it blanketed in the fungi, there was a transparent box next to it saying 'bootleg MLP episodes, DO NOT TOUCH!', it was in the shape of a CD that a lot of my group had from our ancestors, there was also a hatch at the top of the black box, I put two and two together and pulled the hatch open and found it could hold discs the size of the container labelled 'bootleg MLP episodes' so I inserted the disc carefully so I don't break it...
I alerted my tribe leader about this and he agreed to let me bring the black box, TV and CDs back to our burrow. After a long walk back to the burrow I went to my private hole and used my brain electricity to power the box and the TV I had to sit awkwardly though as my fingers would have to touch the object for it to work and some parts of the soil were rough and sharp, after 1 hour of gathering electricity from my brain; I started pouring it into the box and the TV and then I saw it... Equestria...
I wasn't easily impressed but the sight of Equestria made my heart beat increase, I watched it all the way from season 1 to the movie as that's all the CDs had, I always wanted to see season 4 but the apocalpyse must have begun during that time, I liked the show so much I even started drawing myself as a pony and I even started having a 'crush' on one of the characters, but we'll talk about that later, such a place was like paradise to me; I was willing to do anything to get there... Anything... First thing that came into my mind was... The mirror in Equestria Girls...
A few days I found the chief alone, someone of such a high role was never alone, and as an opportunist I seized my chance. "Chief you know how you sometimes come into my private hole and see me watching that show, do you remember seeing a mirror like that or know where it is?" I enquired. The chief looked at me and started laughing weakly "It's been 6 years since you found that box and you still talk about it instead of growing up and contributing to our tribe, do I look like the kind of person that would know? No, now let me think of how we're going to defend ourselves tonight against our enemies!" he shouted, I knew he was lying, I always knew when someone was being honest or lying through their fangs and I wasn't prepared to give up paradise for the sake of him...
so I took out my rusty pocket knife and went behind and grabbed him by the and slowly sank my knife shallowly into his neck, enough so he could talk and enough so if he made the slightest sudden movement he'd be dead, I repeated my question. One thing I love about this immunising drug; it weakens emotions such as love and empathy but it amplifies our will to survive no matter what, thanks to this the chief bellowed "You bastard, you dare threaten your chiefto-" I sank the blade slightly deeper into his neck, he could still talk but this droplets of blood were coming out "FINE!" he spat in my eyes "Follow your instincts you son of a bitch, my enzymes will show you where to go, but mark my words, revenge will be mine, also ;it's worth knowing, this portal isn't what you think it is. Why do you think we haven't tried escaping this mad world for the portal? Because this port-" it appeared I sank my knife way too far into his throat but at least now I would find 'paradise'.
I knew if anyone knew about what I did I'd be executed on the spot, so I ran for my life and after six long hours of following my instincts I arrived at the portal and I wondered how I should enter the portal, I asked myself "What would Rainbow Dash do?". I put my head down so if this didn't work I'd at least die a quick death and I charged as fast as my legs would carry me but I made a foolish mistake, I never took the chance to rest and I was nauseous so I tripped over something and was one inch away from the portal. Seconds after my fall I heard snarling followed by a crunch and then I screamed, what bit me?
I looked at my legs and saw it, the smallest zombie I've ever seen, it was the size of a baby, it was about to bite me as hard as it could but then I quickly pulled my leg back, got up and 'ghetto stomped' it's head down on the floor, a trick that was passed down through generations of my tribe. I was too scared to think straight; fear and shock took over, I braced myself and charged at the mirror at the same time hoping, praying, that my immune system would be able to fight off the disease but then... Blackness...
When I woke up there it was, Equestria, the lush grasses, the birds of which I've only seen on TV, and the trees I heard children laughing too, but I didn't care, I was finally here, paradise, I knew what I had to do... I knew the mirror was connected to multiple dimensions, it's only logical, and I didn't want any zombies getting into this paradise so I thought of smashing the mirror but I saw my 'hands' the fingers were gone, and my wings were hurting so badly... Wait... WINGS?!
Chapter 1 - The beginning of the hunger
Although I had wings I really couldn't fly, I could barely, I saw my reflection in the mirror; I looked exactly how I thought I would if I were a pony. My initial reactions were to have a party with Pinkie, back on Earth we never had those, life was way too serious for things like that. "Time to par-tay!!!!!" I yelled at the top of my lungs. Then Pinkie appeared standing on top of me; she was as light as a feather and she had a massive grin on her face.
"Did somepony say party?!"
"No, I said par-tay!!!!"
"Oh I see, you don't want to party, you want to parrrrrrrrrrr-tayyyyyyyyyyyyy!" she grabbed my hand, I mean hoof and then I saw us whizzing past everyone, I could barely see it happen, I felt nothing, I just caught a glimpse of us entering sugar cube corner.
"Pinkie, how do you do that?"
"I dunno" the pink mare beamed "Be right back, let me go get my microphone."
"Don't take too lon-"
In no time she emerged with the biggest microphone I've ever seen; it must have been the size of sugar cube corner itself, then she yelled "Party at sugar cube corner!!!". I think she caused an Earthquake while saying that and I went deaf for a few seconds.
Just before everybody, I mean everypony, could arrive she gave me the welcome song! "Welcome welcome welcome, a fine welcome to you, welcome welcome welcome, I say how do you do? Welcome welcome welcome to ponyville today!!!! Wait for it..." *Splat* Once again she put the pastry and streamers in the wrong place but oh well, you can't stay mad at Pinkie Pie!
Then everypony came, that night was the best I've ever had, but all good things must come to an end, the bite... It started getting green with fungi and no scabs were appearing and I had the craving for... Flesh.
