The Forgotten Orchard
Back on the Farm
Previous ChapterNext ChapterApple Jack was pacing the living room floor. Back and forth, back and forth. A worried look, paired with confusion and pain was plastered to her face.
She had been out a little earlier to look for her sister. She knew sometimes those silly fillies would run off to someponies house for a sleep over, but the news she got was far worse than that.
"Big Mac!!!" She yelled as he walked in the door. "Ah, Ah don't know what go into that little fillies head, but we may have to break our word. Ah know that's not how we operate, but Big Mac, Apple Bloom..She.. " Her eyes filled with tears, her bottom lip trembling. All her pacing had caused her red ribbon to come free from her mane. Her blonde mane was a mess. Damped with tears that now poured freely from her bright green eyes.
"Ah already know. They told me. But we can't go in there. We just can't. It's up to her to fix what she has done. You know this, as well as Ah do. Eeyup, that's what;s got to happen."
"You can't.. You won't.. Big Mac she's our sister!! Our baby Sister!!! we can't just leave her!!"
"Either she fixes what she has done. or everyone dies. It's your choice AJ. And Ah pray to Celestia, you make tha right one."
With that, he slowly walked to his room. His head hung low, his ears pressed back against his head. The piece of hay falling to the floor. Everything was so quiet, you could almost hear it hit the floor. He slowly looked back, and to Apple Jacks surprise, his eyes were wet with tears. His face stained with pain, tear trails left in the dust on his face.
The following morning, the Apples got up to start the day as usual. A heavy grief fell upon the heads of the eldest siblings. Through this grief, they continued on in their daily chores.
Just when it seemed the day wouldn't end, Twilight Sparkle came by the farm.
"Applejack I'm here to help with the fencing. I'm not sure why you need me to just fence in some trees, but okay."
She tried to put on her best fake smile. She explained that they farm has had a problem with timberwolves lately. hint the need for a magical fence.
Right away Twilight got started. It wasn't too late in the evening before she finished.
As they sat down from finishing the fence, Twilight became too curious.
"Apple Jack, has there been any word on the two fillies who disappeared? Have you went in there to see if those two might be ok? I just think somepony should at least go in there to look for them."
Furious at her friend, she yelled," Ah waned everypony there were Timberwolves in there. But nobody listens ta me. By now, them youngins are as good as dead. If they ain't been ate, then they'll surely starve. But ah ain't letting anypony else in there! You got it? It's for everyponies own good nopony go in there!!! now just go on an get home. Ah don't wanna hear no more!"
And with that, She turned and ran back to her house. The Farmhouse. Where her brother, her, and her sister lived. Where they raised Apple Bloom. Where they shared all the laughs, and all the arguments. Where life was good. Or at least, where it was, until they came along.
