The Spirits Of Equestria
The Curse of being a Unicorn
Previous ChapterTyphoon sat on a pure black cumulus cloud and floated above the city of Cloudsdale. His mane flowed in the wind his magic generated to keep afloat. It was the color of the darkest night, with bright red at the tip of each strand of hair, each tip surging with electricity. He smiled and descended on the fortress city in the sky. The streets were empty. Unlike the Pegasi living down below these Pegasi were still in a deep depression. Some couldn’t go to work, work that required flying. Some on the other hand were more stubborn and tried to live their life like normal, without the ability to fly. And that’s why Typhoon was there.
Typhoon cared not for these Pegasi. For in his mind all these ponies were beneath him, he believed the floating city in the sky deserved to crash down into the world below. But he allowed them to live. He walked down a main street. No lamps were on as far as he could see. But he heard a noise in the distance, machines were functioning, just as Typhoon predicted. He continued walking towards the noise and soon found himself in front of the massive weather factory. That night Typhoon’s storms disappeared once they began and when she told him the Pegasi capital housed the weather factory for Equestria he decided to pay it a visit.
He approached the doors and used a hoof to open them slowly. He peered his head in and saw a dozen or so Pegasi, using ropes to suspend themselves high in the air and reach the various knobs and switches that powered the facility. The machines were sucking in the storm clouds that Typhoon generated, explaining the lack of storms. His eyebrows arched downward and he smiled evilly, silently praising their bravery and defiance. But it needed to end. He quietly closed the doors and walked a hundred or so feet away. Typhoon turned and aimed his horn at the massive building, lightning began surging around his horn. A small cyclone of wind appeared around him, his horn hummed and after a few more moments blazed with an intense red light. Lightning flowed out of it and hit the building. The explosion that followed shook the city in the sky. When the light faded and the smoke cleared there was no weather factory.
Typhoon’s laugh echoed throughout the empty streets of the city. He summoned a small black cloud and started to fly silently over the city looking down at its various buildings.
“This place. Needs a little more light.”
His horn glowed red once more, and the lightning that flowed out obliterated a small home underneath him, killing all inside instantly. Typhoon bellowed a roar that woke every filly from their bed across Cloudsdale. Concerned mothers, and stressed fathers rose from their chairs or beds and shuffled to their windows, moving the curtains ever so slightly to get a look at what the explosion, and terrifying noise was. Possess
“Tonight, the rain that falls from the sky, will be blood.”
He flew under Cloudsdale, horn starting to glow its usual red, red that soon swirled with purple. Using the darkest of magic he emitted a small magenta colored light into the massive and ancient cloud that held the city into the sky. The cloud, normally a beautiful shade of white, now turned an eerie red and black. He smiled at his new creation. Cloudsdale will be the first to truly feel his wrath.
Cloudsdale’s streets pulsed with a purple glow. A random homeowner let his curiosity get the better of him. He and his mare walked out from their home into the middle of the street and observed the new purple street.
“What in the world is going on?” The stallion looked up and across the street, to a neighbor’s home. “Hey, Breezy Skies! Get out here and check this out!”
Lights in homes all up and down the street began turning on. Pegasi mares and colts ran out, noticing the burning home and new glowing ground. Many had reactions of fear, and confusion. The Pegasi Typhoon assumed to be Breezy Skies came out and met the others.
“What is going on here?! Quick somepony check and see if the Orbits are ok, get some water on that fire! You three there! Alert the mayor immediately!”
Typhoon was furious, in the midst of this destruction a defiant Pegasi still had the audacity to try and take control of the situation.
“No bucking Pegasi fool will stand up to me.” His eyes began to glow a fierce red, and his voice bellowed over the city… All heard his speech. “PEGASI, I AM TYPHOON THE NEW GOD OF THE WINDS. YOU WILL BOW BEFORE ME OR PERISH! Lightning swirled around Typhoon, attaching itself to his horn… he awaited Breezy to defy him… Breezy indeed took the bait.
“Oh yeah? You and what army Unicorn?! We Pegasi don’t need flying to stand up together against a false god! Celestia and Luna are our rulers! Not you!” The small crowd of Pegasi cheered in agreement. At first encouraged by the words of Breezy... ready to stand up against Typhoon.
But Typhoon started to laugh. “OH REALLY? THEN YOU WILL BE THE FIRST TO DIE!” He turned his head and lashed the lightning whip around Breezy, it began to shock and burn the flightless Pegasi, who screamed out in pain. His body began to cook under the heat, his scream slowly turned into a groan and then nothing. The whip loosened and disappeared, the burnt unidentifiable body of Breezy fell right through clouds… down to the earth below.
“Now then.” Typhoon’s voice was at a normal level, but it still held a menacing tone. “To make an example of those, who did not choice to worship me. You are all banished. Goodbye.” His laughed rang in the ears of all the Pegasi who all scrambled to get back into their homes. It was too late.
The purple light in the streets began to glow under each and every Pegasi, then the cloud beneath them opened up… and the population count for Cloudsdale diminished by forty.
Directly beneath Cloudsdale:
Mr. Greenhooves had decided to take a trip from his home in Ponyville and travel on hoof to the Crystal Empire. The trains were still out for some reason and He heard the treatment was great and Crystal Mares were just beautiful. He figured an old Stallion like himself could use some… service from a young mare.
“Hmmm. Crystal Mares. Sounds like they are gonna be hard to get with.” Greenhooves laughed at his own joke “hard. Heh. Awh man Greenhooves. You need to move a little faster there. Not goin’ make it to the Crystal Umpire goin’ this slow.” He closed his eyes and started whistling his favorite tune.
After a moment another noise was heard. Greenhooves eyes shot open as his mind registered what he was hearing. It was the sound of screaming. He looked up and saw a dark shape falling from the sky. The screaming became more recognizable as it got closer… and closer… and then with a sickening thud, the screaming stopped.
“Holy tarnation! I’m coming little feller hang on!” He unlatched his carriage from his back and cantered over to the Pony. When he was closer enough to recognize features, he realized it was a Pegasi. The moonlight revealed his broken body to Greenhooves. Who took his hat off and held it over his heart.
“Celestia. Guide this poor pony to the good part of Tartarus now… ya hear me?” He looked down at the dead Pegasi again. “Poor young feller.” As he put his hat back on he heard it again. Another scream. Not one but two. No three. He looked up and saw more Pegasi falling from Cloudsdale.
“OH MY SWEET LUNA NO!” He closed his eyes and ran back towards his carriage, hearing the sound of screams, screams that ended with the sound of broken bones hitting the surface of the earth. Greenhooves threw open the door to his carriage and climbed inside. Keeping his eyes closed so he wouldn’t be tempted to look… but it didn’t make a difference. He could hear their screams. Soon the top of his carriage was being impacted by the bodies that happened to land right on top… Mr. Greenhooves began to cry.
“Why is this h-happening…? WHY CELESTIA!” He continued crying and praying to the Princesses… for nearly five minutes the screams continued. It was the longest two hundred and fifty seconds of the old stallion’s life. He tried to cover his ears, but the screams he had heard before were echoing in his mind. When the screams finally stopped he didn’t remove his hooves from his ears…for the rest of the night he huddled in the corner of his carriage and cried. The face of the first Pegasi to fall scarred his memory, it held a look of fear, even in death.
Mr. Greenhooves had never been so afraid in his whole life.
Typhoon could feel it. It was delicious.
Aeolus had a hard time falling asleep that night. What Luna said about Rarity festered in his mind. He tried to imagine various scenarios on what could be happening to the fashion pony. He joked around with the idea that she needed some more fabric for her dresses, or that she couldn’t get a dress to be the right size for a client. After a few more silly situations went through his mind he decided to stop. It could truly be something serious and he didn’t want to jinx the situation with jokes.
He rolled around on his bed not being able to get comfortable. He eventually was so annoyed he just sat up and looked around the room. It had been several hours since he saw Luna on the rooftop, he had no idea what time it was but he was definitely sure it was late. He gently climbed out of the bed, it was creaky but naturally Aeolus was rather light on his hooves. He smiled at his ability to climb out of the bed without making a single noise. Looking down and using his improved vision he identified Spike, whose basket was placed close to Twilight’s bed.
Wanting to read some books down on the main floors he took one step towards the stairs, and tripped on a pile of books. He crashed to the floor and with a loud groan successfully managing to wake up Twilight and Spike respectively. Twilight fell out of bed and Spike sat up still sucking on his claw.
“Huh? Wha—what’s going on...? I swear ithoughtthat--” Spike trailed off and passed out again, Twilight however full awake now untangled herself from her blankets and looked at Aeolus curiously.
“What happened?” She asked him, holding back annoyance in her voice since he woke her up.
“Sorry Twilight I was having trouble sleeping and thought maybe going downstairs and reading might help. But I tripped on some books on my way out.” He smiled innocently lifting a hoof and rubbing the back of his neck.
Twilight’s annoyance faded at the word “reading” she smiled and offered to go downstairs with him. She used her horn to light the way down the stairs into main library and turned on a light. Aeolus began to scan the bookshelves for something to read. He knew exactly what he wanted but unfortunately so did Twilight, she used her magic to levitate the Equestrian Spirits guide book from out of her saddle bag and held it behind her back, she slowly inched her way down the bookshelves holding her back towards the books and keeping a smile on Aeolus while he looked. She finally reached where she wanted to be, she quickly turned, pushed some books to the side and found the secret compartment where Spike found one of her favorite mythical myth books. She pressed the horseshoe switch and the compartment opened, she slid the book in quietly, closed the compartment and returned the books that covered it back. She turned and came face to face with Aeolus.
“Hey Twilight I really wanted to take a look at that spirit guide where’d you put it?” He asked her.
She grimaced and thought of a quick reply. “Spirit guide? What spirit guide?” she lied terribly.
He raised an eyebrow at her and responded with “you know… the book we found that told us of my true identity? THAT spirit guide?”
She forced out a fake laugh. “Oh that spirit guide! I don’t know I haven’t seen it. Somepony must’ve come in and checked it out earlier today… you know… since I haven’t seen it”
She is lying… pretty terribly.
She choked out another laugh and then followed up with equally as fake yawn. “Well I’m gonna head to bed! You should too we have a lot of list reading to do tomorrow!”
He continued to be suspicious of Twilight’s acting but he followed her back up the stairs and he got back into his bed. Twilight was already in her bed and was snoring loudly which was obviously fake. He smiled at the fact that she was lying so hard, but decided he would drop it for the night and get some answers tomorrow. He laid down and tried to fall asleep again.
Aeolus awoke at the sound of birds chirping, He opened his eyes and saw Twilight and Spike still asleep. He looked out the window and saw the sun had barely begun rising. He once again climbed out of bed without a peep. Now that there was light in the room he looked all around the floor and stepped over every book on his journey to the stairs. He breathed a sigh of relief and lowered his hoof on the first step. As soon as he shifted his weight on that hoof and raise the next he noticed the floor on the first step felt odd. He realized too late he was stepping on a book. The books’ cover ripped off and Aeolus went tumbling down the steps.
Amazingly neither of the others asleep woke up. Aeolus was laying on his back at the bottom of the stairs and softly groaned due to his fall.
Can you not be an idiot for two minutes? I’m over here trying to sleep and you’re falling down stairs.
He shushed the voice, rolled over onto his hooves and started walking to the door. He wanted to go and talk to Rarity immediately before anypony else could occupy her time, or before she started errands of her own.
He raised his hoof to the door handle, wrapped his hoof around the loop, and slowly pulled on it. The door creaked intensely. Aeolus clenched his teeth and closed his eyes as he quickly yanked the door open, threw himself outside and shut the door behind him. He huffed out a huge sigh and galloped into town. The sun had begun to light up Ponyville, some other early bird ponies had already started their day as well. Some saying hello or nodding in his direction as he ran past.
After running for a bit Aeolus found himself outside the Carousel boutique. He hadn’t actually been inside before and wondered what exactly she worked on. He raised a hoof and knocked on the door, which swung open on contact.
“Hello? Rarity?” he called out searching for the fashion pony. The lights were off and the curtains were drawn, leaving the home in total darkness. It smelled musty, making Aeolus’ eyes water. He walked over to the nearest curtain and pulled it open. He turned and looked back at the shop with a gasp. Fabric of many shades of color were strewn all over the floor. Several mannequins were broken, or burnt in the middle of the room. Aeolus’ mind feared the worst of things that could’ve happened to Rarity and rushed up the stairs calling out for her.
“RARITY?? He yelled out, throwing every door he came across open, each one showing similar signs of destruction as the front room did. He finally came to the last room in the house and when he opened the door he knew immediately it was Rarity’s bedroom. There was a large stack of opened and un-opened letters thrown in the corner of the room, which itself was in shambles. The bed looked as if it hadn’t been made in days, there were bottles of makeup broken on the floor. The strong smell was burning Aeolus’ mouth and nose. He fled the bedroom and ran down the steps. Realizing he needed to get Twilight he began to head out the door when it started to open. Aeolus lowered his stance and prepared himself to fight any attacker, but when the door fully opened Rarity walked in. Her hair was completely straight and out of place, she had no makeup on and had small bags under her eyes.
“Aeolus? Whatever are you doing inside my house?!” She questioned him, sounding exhausted.
“I came to see if you were ok Rarity, and from the looks of things around here I’d say you weren’t doing too well!” He replied, gesturing around the shop as he spoke. She lowered her head and slowly trotted to her nearby couch, she sat on it quiet for a moment… before she burst into tears, sobbing loudly as she spoke.
“I- Its Sw-Sweetie Belle! I-I-I haven’t been able to make dresses for weeks, and before all this Typhoon business I already owed bits to the landlord for my home! Now that I have devoted my bits to Sweetie Belle and that dumb cure I’m really close to losing the boutique…” the more she talked, the harder she cried. Aeolus tried to calm her down so he could get more information.
“Whoa Rarity calm down! Who is Sweetie Belle? What cure?” He got closer and gave her a tight hug. She embraced him and cried loudly. He gave her a moment to let it all out. As soon as her sobbing downgraded into a slight cry she explained herself.
“Sweetie Belle is my little sister… and she’s sick. Very sick. Nearly all her life she has suffered and now it’s finally coming to an end. I thought I had found the answer when I started writing to a Unicorn that promised a cure if I could pay him well enough… I still haven’t earned enough bits to pay him with!” She stopped crying while she told Aeolus about the situation. She nodded quickly, got up and moved to the corner of the room, lifting up a red piece of fabric with her magic she started to fold it neatly.
“It’s her Crusader cape… she and her friends made this silly little club. They call themselves the Cutie Mark Crusaders, They devote all their time and energy to try and discover their special talent and Cutie Marks.” The red and gold cape floated up to her face and she leaned her head into it.
“She made it for her friends a few years ago… last night she had asked me for it, but I couldn’t leave her side. I figured now while she slept would be a good time.” Her voice had a slight whimper, eyes threatening more tears.
Aeolus had no idea Rarity had a sister, but felt this was a good time to be supportive to his friend.
“Can I come with you to see her?” Aeolus asked her. She had a confused look.
“You want to come visit Sweetie with me? Why? You have elements you have to learn! I know Twilight had a list she wanted to go over with you.”
Aeolus, Rarity is right. You have to learn the Elements quickly, I know what Typhoon is doing. He’s trying to lure you out into the open he must know you’re still aliv—
But Aeolus cut the voice off. His response was both to his past self, and Rarity.
“I know. In this situation though, helping out a friend is more important.” He smiled at her. She gave him a smile in return.
“Alright, let me run upstairs and grab a few things and then we’ll go back to the hospital.” She headed up the stairs for a moment, leaving Aeolus in the dark living room. He had gotten used to the strong scent of the spilled makeups, and his eyes had adjusted to the darkness. There was a loud thud from upstairs.
“Rarity? You alright?” He shouted towards the stairs.
“Yes, give me a moment!” She threw back.
The sound of items being thrown and glass breaking worried Aeolus but he stayed put and awaited Rarity’s return.
I have a bad feeling Aeolus. Something is going on. Unicorns… Something is wrong with the Unicorns.
Rarity bounded down the stairs with a filled saddlebag. “I wanted to grab a few little things for Sweetie. She was barely talking when I left so I do hope I grabbed everything! Come, let’s go and I’ll explain what’s going on.”
Aeolus nodded and left the dress shop followed by Rarity, who remembered to lock the door behind her to avoid any other unexpected visitors.
As the two ivory colored ponies cantered through the quiet warm morning of Ponyville Rarity proceeded to explain Sweetie Belle’s situation to Aeolus.
“Aeolus. Have you ever heard of Magical Displacement?”
The moment Aeolus heard the words leave Rarity’s mouth visions began playing in fast forward in his head. Images of Unicorns screaming, with bloody horns and red electricity overtaking them. The images came to an end with a purple Unicorn with a sparkling coat emitting a bright light from his horn. Aeolus shook his head, taking a minute to realize his surroundings and then answer Rarity’s question.
“No… I don’t think so…” He was still shook up, the images of dying Unicorns burned into his mind.
The purple Unicorn… Was that… Is he still alive?
Rarity continued talking, not noticing Aeolus’ self-conflict. “It’s an incredibly uncommon disease that some Unicorns can contract… more like a birth defect really. Sweetie Belle was born with it. A young Unicorn is normally expected to have surges of magic that help determine how powerful the Unicorn will become. Sweetie Belle however didn’t go through this stage. Our parents always feared that maybe Sweetie Belle had Magical Displacement, and when they finally took her to a specialist in Canterlot they diagnosed her with it. Basically Sweetie Belle has a small blockage in her brain, it prevents her from effectively using magic. At first when young it doesn’t affect her too bad, just proved to be an annoyance to her. Now however it’s getting serious.” She stopped to see if Aeolus was keeping up with her. He was looking at her with an intrigued look and his follow up question proved his attention.
“What’s happening now?”
“Well… The condition has been known to stay dormant and not dramatically affect the Unicorn negatively. Some rare cases however can kill… Sweetie’s condition is getting to that level… as the magic in her horn continues to build up and not be released it will…” she paused for a moment, and stopped walking. Aeolus didn’t notice at first stepping ahead of her slightly. It was the sound of her whimpering voice that brought Aeolus to turn and face her.
“Rarity? It will what?” He softly asked her.
She looked up at him with big tear filled eyes, trying her best to hold back sobs as she spoke. “It will cause her horn to burst… all the magic building up will explode all at once and her brain will stop functioning. My little sister will die and I couldn’t do anything to stop it! Oh Aeolus what am I going to do?!” She allowed herself to fully cry now, clinging to Aeolus and sobbing into his neck. He wrapped a hoof around her head and let her cry. Other ponies that happened to be wandering by approached them and offered assistance or asked if anything could be done. They were waved off by Aeolus.
“My parents are always off on their silly little adventures and trips. I’ve gotten so used to my sister and her silly crusading business… without Sweetie Belle… I don’t know what I’d do.” She whimpered quietly for a moment, Aeolus gently walked her towards the sidewalk and looked down at her.
“Let’s go see her. I’m sure she’ll be feeling better already. Rarity, shouldn’t we tell Twilight? I’m sure she could help! I hear she’s very skilled at magic.”
“No not yet. I don’t want anyone to know. I can’t handle having everyone feel sorry for me. I don’t want everypony else’s life to stop just so they can make sure mine goes on.” With that she wiped the tears from her eyes and stood up tall.
“I MUST be strong for Sweetie Belle. She’s my sister and I won’t let her down!” Rarity started quickly galloping towards the hospital, Aeolus smiled and followed. Though while he was running he felt a slight pain in each hoof, a pain that intensified with every step.
“Ow. Ow. Ow. Ow. Why does running hurt all of a sudden?!” he said to himself as he struggled to keep up with Rarity.
Looks like something is wrong with your hooves. Aeolus do us a favor and SLOW DOWN.
Aeolus realized then he had completely passed up Rarity and was approaching the doors to the hospital pretty fast. He looked down and saw small sparks on his hooves, the shock of seeing them made him trip and fall face first right in front of the steps of the hospital.
“Ow. Damnit.”
Rarity came up right behind him. “Ouch are you alright darling? Here let me help you up.” She leaned down and used her head and a hoof to help Aeolus to his hooves. “You started to go so fast, and your hooves glowed slightly! Are you alright?” She inspected his hooves but saw no such glowing.
“Yeah I’m ok. Let’s get inside and see Sweetie.” He held the door open for Rarity and she smiled graciously.
She paraded up to the front desk and saw various nurse ponies behind it, filing through paperwork or showing doctors documents. She cleared her throat politely until a nurse with a name badge reading “Redheart” turn and faced her.
“Oh Miss Belle… I take it you’re here to see Sweetie?” She asked the fashion pony, Rarity nodded in agreement.
“Yes ma’am, is she doing any better?” Rarity smiled sweetly at Nurse Redheart, whose expression looked pained.
“Miss Belle… I’m so sorry. Sweetie has been moved to a different floor. The Quarantined floor. I cannot allow you in, especially since you’re a Unicorn.” She started to turn and walk away, but Rarity firmly gripped her nurse gown with magic.
“Excuse me?! You’re going to tell me that Sweetie Belle has been moved to the Quarantined floor without explaining yourself and then walk away?! How dare you!” Her rising voice was grabbing the attention of those in the waiting room, many of them Aeolus noticed were Unicorns.
“What is going on here?” A tall stallion with a doctor’s robe trotted over, recognizing Rarity immediately. “Miss Rarity Belle. I need you to please let go of Nurse Redheart and follow me. Your friend however must remain here in the waiting room.”
Rarity let go of Redheart who fell backwards to the ground. “My friend is coming with me, THANK YOU VERY MUCH.” She glared hard at the doctor who after working the night shift could only sigh. He no longer had the energy to argue.
“Fine follow me. Both of you.” He came out from behind the desk and headed towards the elevator at the end of the hall. Rarity let out a powerful “humph.” And walked behind him. Aeolus smiled and whistled softly, looking at Nurse Redheart who looked sad as she brushed herself off after standing up.
“Note to self, don’t mess with Rarity.”
Agreed.
The elevator was heavy with tension. After a brief moment of awkwardness the Doctor started to speak. “Look Rarity… When you left to go to your home Sweetie… well she had an incident.” He waited for her reaction to continue.
“What sort of accident Doctor?” She was no longer angry, her tone now sounded worried.
“Her horn started to glow a light bluish color. We assumed it was her distinct magic color so we let whatever she was doing take its course for a moment, hoping it was her shaking off the displacement on her own. A few moments later we were proved wrong. Her horn then started to glow red, and her body began to spark with red electricity, it was unlike anything I have ever seen. She began screaming in pain… her nose started to bleed as did her horn. I quick shot her with an anesthetic to knock her out before she hurt herself or anyone else, then we moved her to the Quarantined room. We have no idea what could possibly be wrong and we wanted to isolate her incase this… illness… was somehow contagious.” With a quiet ding the elevator door opened, revealing a dark hallway. Drawn curtains all along both sides and a single softly lit door gave the floor an eerie feeling. The doctor was the first to exit the elevator, followed by Rarity and then Aeolus.
“Doctor, no other Unicorn has shown these symptoms?” Aeolus asked.
“Well… in the last hour alone we have had six others be admitted here, all stated they have uncontrollable surges of magic, or pains in their heads or horns. They are all being admitted into the Quarantine room. Come, and please keep your voices down, we don’t want to spook or wake up any of these ponies… It’s not safe.” He opened the door slowly and to the doctor’s annoyance it creaked slightly.
The lighting in this room was dark like the hallway before it, but with small lamps turned on near a few of the beds. One of them being Sweetie Belle’s.
“Sweetie Belle!” Rarity exclaimed somewhat quietly as she pushed past the Doctor and cantered to her sister’s bed. “Wake up darling, look I have your Crusaders cape!” She reached into her saddle bag with her magic and pulled out the red and gold cape. “I even stitched the insignia back on, I know it falls off a lot so I fixed it and now it should be right as rain!” She smiled at her sister, but her sister did not smile back. Sweetie Belle was asleep, and not in good shape.
Her horn was bandaged, the bandages were tinged with red which was obviously blood. She had an IV in her arm that supplied some type of medicine into her system and many other wires attached to different stickers all over her small body. The machine to the right of Sweetie was beeping sporadically, the numbers rising and lowering unnaturally.
Rarity turned with tears in her eyes and faced Aeolus and the Doctor. “Doctor, do something please.” He frowned and lowered his head.
“I’m sorry Rarity, I’ve done all I can.”
She started to cry into her sister’s cape, not a loud sob… but a very small whimper.
“Doctor I…” Aeolus was interrupted by a loud noise outside the door, the sound of voices yelling at each other, panic stricken voices, along with a pleading higher pitched voice that Aeolus recognized instantly. He turned and looked towards the door. “Pinkie Pie?”
The door busted open as two nurse ponies wheeled in a gurney that held a blue Unicorn, whose eyes were glowing green and his horn red. Small sparks of electricity all around it. “Doctor thank Celestia you’re here! We have another one, and this was is the worst case yet!” The doctor immediately went into action mode.
“Quick move the patient over here!” he led them to an empty bed on the other side of the large room “We are gonna move him from the gurney to the bed on three! 1…2…3!” They lifted the shocked patient onto the bed with magic and the doctor continued spouting orders to the nurses. “Bring me an anesthetic and bandages, along with the magic transfusion pills, NOW.” A nurse quickly ran to the table in the middle of the room, retrieved the items and brought them to the Doctor. “Here are your supplies Doctor X-ray.” He took them and then went through normal procedure.
“I need everything we know about this pony STAT.” he asked, the Nurse next to him began explaining quickly.
“Stallion, age 20, Unicorn by the name of Improv, very powerful magic. According to Pinkie who was with him recently he was lying in bed talking about a bad headache when he began to writhe around in pain, his magic surge started and things all over his room starting busting, Pinkie brought him here and he’s only getting worse.”
“Understood.”
Pinkie Pie wandered over getting a little too close to the group of ponies working on Improv. “Please tell me he’s gonna be ok please!” The Doctor turned and shouted at the party pony.
“PINKAMENA PIE BACK UP. I NEED TO TRY AND SAVE HIM AND I CAN’T HAVE YOUR SILLYNESS GET IN THE WAY!” His voice scared Pinkie who sat down and started to cry. Her mane went from its normally poufy look to completely straight. Rarity left Sweetie Belle’s side and hugged Pinkie.
“Oh no, not Improv too… Pinkie Pie I’m so sorry.” Before Pinkie could answer the chaos by his bed starting getting intense.
“WE’RE LOSING HIM, INJECT HIM NOW” Improv’s horn started to bleed and the electricity around the horn started to spread all over his body. As soon as the needle went into Improv’s side the light in his eyes faded, as did the lightning. He stopped thrashing about and sat completely still. Breathing softly. The doctor wrapped the gauze and bandage around his horn and turned to face the others. He looked down at pinkie and apologized. “I’m sorry for yelling Pinkie, We’ll keep an eye on Improv but for now we’ve done all that we can do. I’ll return shortly I need to get Improv’s past medical charts.” He left the room with a few of the other nurses, one stayed behind to watch Improv.
“Pinkie Pie what happened?” Aeolus asked while looking at the blue Unicorn.
“He hasn’t been feeling well since the party last week. I thought maybe he’d had too much cake or something! Then a little bit ago he started throwing himself around and his eyes glowed green… I got so scared… I don’t know what’s wrong with him.” Rarity tightened her grip around Pinkie and Aeolus got a little closer. As he opened his mouth to speak, Twilight’s voice replaced his.
“It’s Typhoon. He’s responsible for this.” The three ponies turned and saw Twilight Sparkle standing in the door way. She entered the room and silently shut the door behind her. “His storms. They are comprised of dark magic. The Red Lightning is interfering with magic that Unicorns cast, its corrupting our magic… slowly killing us inside. That’s why Sweetie’s condition got so much worse so quickly, or why a powerful Unicorn like Improv had such a violent outcome just now. The worse Typhoon’s storms become, the worse Unicorns will start to feel.”
Aeolus thought about the quick vision he had not long ago. “How do you know Twilight?”
“I… just do. Trust me this is only gonna get worse and I have no idea how to stop it. As far as I know this is no cure.” She walked over to Sweetie Belle’s bed. “According to Doctor X-ray… these ponies only have two weeks to live… and they are expecting more and more to be admitted. No Unicorn is safe. Letters from other towns are saying that this is happening to Unicorns everywhere! If this isn’t taken care of soon… Equestria will lose Unicorns all throughout the land. I messaged Celestia but I’ve gotten no response… I have no idea what to do.”
Aeolus’ ears perked up “Rarity said she had been talking to a pony about a cure for Sweetie Belle’s condition! Rarity, can you show us those letters?” Rarity turned to face Aeolus.
“They are at the boutique… I suppose I can show you, not that they would be much help. The Unicorn offering the cure asked for 200,000 bits! That’s an unreasonable amount for such a cure!” She looked discouraged, but Pinkie Pie added some optimism to the situation.
“Twilight you’re a princess, I’m sure you can help pay for the cure! Right?” She smiled at the lavender Unicorn, who looked down at her hooves.
“No Pinkie, even though I’m a princess I don’t have any access to the royal funds. With the princesses not answering me I can’t ask them for help. Rarity lets go to your house and take a look at those letters. Maybe they can give us a clue on what to do next.” She waved Pinkie and Rarity over, Aeolus also got closer to Twilight as her horn began to glow bright magenta. In a bright flash of magic they reappeared in the living room of Rarity’s home.
“Excuse the mess girls, I’ve been quite stressed out these past few days.” Both Twilight and Pinkie looked around the shop in horror.
“Rarity all of your beautiful dresses! This place is a wreck! Where is Opal?” Twilight started to pick up the shop using her magic, within seconds it looked immediately better than before.
“I left Opal in Fluttershy’s care. I was trying to quickly put together a line to raise money for Sweetie Belle and I couldn’t keep up with Opal and her neediness. Goodness, I sound awful. I just really wanted to help Sweetie.” She remembered why they were there. “Come on everypony. Let’s go up to my room so we can grab those letters.” She galloped up the stairs quickly leaving the others behind.
“I’m so worried about Improv… and Sweetie Belle… We just left them, are they gonna be ok?” Pinkie asked Twilight.
“They are in good hooves Pinkie. Come on.” Twilight went up the steps heading towards Rarity’s room, Pinkie soon followed. Aeolus however stayed behind, he had a sudden pain in his head, alongside the pain he felt in his hooves. Dizziness was overcoming him.
Whoa, stay conscious there. We need to help the best we can.
“You actually care to help? Since when?” Aeolus asked out loud.
Since I saw that poor little filly dying in that bed along with Improv. Now get your flank upstairs and see what they have found. Go!
Aeolus followed the voice’s advice. Trying his best to ignore the pain in his head and his hooves he slowly climbed the steps. Each one beating against his hooves as he walked. Every time he stepped, lifting the next leg seemed heavier and heavier. Finally with some slight panting, he reached the top of the steps, and started heading towards Rarity’s bedroom. As he walked in he noticed Rarity digging through a pile of letters. As she skimmed over one she would throw it towards Twilight, who was catching the letters thrown and organizing them into different piles. Pinkie in the meantime was cleaning the room pretty quickly. In the short time she had been there the room was almost spotless.
“Rarity, you have so many bills. It says here they are gonna evict you this month! Why didn’t you tell any of us?” Twilight had a huge ‘bill’ pile, it was the biggest pile out of all the letters Rarity had.
“I didn’t want to worry anypony. I was hoping to have everything fixed soon… but then that Unicorn charged so much for his cure I know I wouldn’t be able to pay for it!” She dug her head back into the pile of letters for a moment before she emerged from the pile. “I GOT IT!” Twilight, Pinkie, and Aeolus turned to face her as she opened the envelope with her magic and started to read the letter.
Dearest Rarity. I saw your desperate cry for help in the newspaper in the little town of Tall Tale. I think you would be happy to know that I can create such a cure to unblock young Sweetie Belle’s magic and forever rid the Magical Displacement from her, however I charge a pretty big fee. 200,000 bits. The cure requires powerful magic (Which I can supply) along with a few other herbs and elements. I would love to help, only as soon as you can pay!
-H
“How in the world does this pony think you could afford 200,000 bits?!” Pinkie explained while trying to count up how long that would take her to earn with her dresses. “That would take like twenty years!”
“And Sweetie Belle and the others admitted now only have two weeks. This is not good. Rarity in the letter it says he lives in Tall Tale?” Twilight asked, to which Rarity nodded in response. “That would be a three day train ride if the trains weren’t on stop… and with the power of Typhoon’s storms if I tried teleporting there the magic I’d use would almost kill me… I have no idea what other options we may have.”
H? Aeolus that’s important. You have to be the one to go! We have to meet this H. I need to be sure! Offer to go!
Aeolus didn’t want to argue with his past voice with the others around… so after an unusually long silence he spoke up.
“I can go.”
Rarity was sitting down re-reading the letter but hearing this made her look up at Aeolus wide-eyed. “You- you can?”
“Yeah Rarity I’ll wa--” Aeolus was interrupted by Twilight.
“No. you’re not going anywhere.” She said quickly.
“Why not? I need to help! All of this Typhoon business… it’s my fault and I need to make up for it by helping!” Aeolus didn’t understand why Twilight was acting so unusual.
“No this isn’t your fault. Look Aeolus I’m sorry but you can’t go. Remember what Celestia said? You can’t go outside at night, Typhoon might find you. Imagine if you trekked across Equestria? He would find you in a heartbeat! I’m worried about the Unicorns… and Sweetie Belle… Improv… and many others around Equestria. You are more important. If you die Typhoon will destroy Equestria and Pegasi will never fly again. Our first priority is keeping you safe. That’s the end of it. I will not allow you to leave.” She stood in the doorway, and she stood tall. Her horn started to glow a soft purple light.
The other three ponies in the room were shocked. “Twilight how could you say such things? We are talking about the lives of ponies in Ponyville! Think about those affected even besides Sweetie Belle! Lyra… Pound Cake… Blues… these ponies are all in danger! We can’t leave Ponyville. I can’t Sweetie and Pinkie can’t leave Improv, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, and Fluttershy don’t even know what’s happening yet! I think Aeolus is so brave for offering and if he wants to help we should let him.” Rarity stood up and stood by Aeolus’ side, as did Pinkie.
“Yeah Twilight Aeoly wants to help save those we care about! Don’t you think that’s important too?” Pinkie asked the princess. But Twilight had a cold look on her face.
“No. He is an ancient being, more powerful than any of us. Saving him is more important. I’m sorry. Aeolus come with me to the Library, Rarity, Pinkie go find Applejack and the others tell them to meet us there too. I think I have an idea to save the ponies that doesn’t involve leaving Ponyville. Then after everypony is safe I’ll try and help you save the boutique Rarity.”
Twilight headed down the stairs of Rarity’s home, Aeolus awkwardly followed behind leaving Pinkie and Rarity, both still shocked at Twilight’s actions, alone.
Together they left The Carousel Boutique and trotted down the street heading towards Golden Oaks Library. Twilight looked sad, but stayed silent.
You are a spirit, you shouldn’t take orders from this… this Unicorn!
“Twilight that was incredibly harsh. I don’t think I’m more important than anypony else. I wanna go! I can find my way around equestria just fine, I feel like I have to go. Something about that H pony. Seems important.” Aeolus was trying to keep up with Twilight, who was galloping fast now. The pain in Aeolus’ hooves was coming back and they had their unusual yellow glow again.
“Listen Aeolus I need you to trust me, you leaving is a bad idea. Please just listen to me.” Twilight knew exactly who H was. Aeolus could not meet him. They approached the house and she busted through the door. “Spike? Spike!” Twilight yelled throughout the house. Spike came into the main room from the kitchen.
“Jeez Twilight stop yelling what is it?” Spike rubbed his ears, he looked like he was cooking. His apron was covered in sauce and he was wearing an oven mitt.
“Spike I need you to gather the elements and bring them downstairs for me, the sun will set soon and the girls will be here. We have a couple spells we are gonna try and perform.” She then started skimming through the walls of the library searching for every type of spell book she could possibly find. Spike simply groaned, removed his apron and glove and jumped up the stairs.
“Twilight please reconsider… I want to help!” Aeolus pleaded with her, but she had made her mind up.
“No Aeolus. You want to help? Stay upstairs away from the windows so tonight if it starts to rain Typhoon can’t find you.” She didn’t even look away from her books while she spoke. Aeolus angrily bounded up the stairs just as spike came down carrying a small trunk. Aeolus threw himself on his bed and stared out the window. Deep in thought for quite some time.
After about an hour he heard the doors burst open. Aeolus approached the stairs and eavesdropped slightly.
“Twilight, we heard what’s goin’ on! Anything you need us to do to help?” Applejack’s southern accent was strong and hard to miss.
“Well I thought we could perform some protection magic, kind of like Shining Armor’s spell around Ponyville to stop the storms using the Elements… But where is Fluttershy?!”
Rainbow Dash was the one who answered. “We looked everywhere for her! She wasn’t in town or at her cottage, we are actually getting worried it’s not like her to run off.”
“Twilight I have been discussing with the girls and we think we need to speak with you about this Aeolus situation.” Rarity approached Twilight challengingly.
“Rarity I told you before, there is nothing to discuss. It is too much of a risk allowing him to leave Ponyville.” Twilight answered back.
“Let one of us go with him them!” RD replied. In a matter of seconds the elements of harmony broke out into arguing, forcing Aeolus’ eavesdropping session to come to an end.
You know you have to go, why not leave now? While they are distracted?
“I want to, but I have to get the map and letter from Rarity’s. I don’t feel right about breaking into her home.” He replied
Just go, I’m sure she’ll forgive you when you return home with a cure for every Unicorn in Ponyville. Look just climb down the tree from that window and head to Rarity’s. Grab some supplies and then head through Sweet Apple Acres and get some food. It’s the only way we’ll be able to nab the cure and find out who this H pony is. Go now before they come to their senses down there!
“You’re right.” Aeolus quietly approached the window in Twilight’s room and opened it. He looked down and the ground started looking farther and farther away.
Please tell me you’re not scared of heights.
“Shut up will you I’m trying to focus!” Aeolus thought hard about how he could get down without killing himself. He stuck his tongue out and narrowed his eyes till he noticed a small bush directly below the window.
“Hang on!” He smiled and prepared to jump.
NO! NO DON’T YOU DARE! AHHHHH
Aeolus jumped.
“oooph!” He fell flank first onto the bush, which only barely broke his fall.
I hate you so much.
Aeolus laughed. “Oh whatever it’s not like you felt it. I’m the one who’s hurting!” He winced as he climbed off the top of the bush, stretching his legs and jumping up and down slightly to help relieve the soreness. “Come on, looks like it’s just gonna be you and me for a while.” Aeolus crept past the doorway to the library and then galloped off towards Rarity’s house.
As he ran through the streets of Ponyville he noticed something odd. The sun had only just started setting, but there were absolutely no ponies out and about. No ponies running their various errands or just happily enjoying the day’s closing.
“Something isn’t right. The Unicorn dilemma must be known all over town now.”
Which means we need to hurry. I’m sure the Pegasi now have ammunition to fire at Unicorns now that they have their own disease they have to worry about.
“You’re right… look there’s Rarity’s place.” Aeolus skidded to a stop, bouncing up and down on his hooves due to the fact they were steaming slightly. “Why is it whenever I start running I almost catch on fire?”
I can’t remember exactly, I think we used to be a really really fast runner though…
“Whatever.” Aeolus approached the dress shop’s door. When he pulled on the handle he had hoped Rarity forgot to lock it again.
No such luck.
“Well this was your idea… how do I get in?” He asked his inner voice.
Break the window you idiot. How else? It’s not like she has some sort of alarm system!
Aeolus shrugged, and picked up the nearest rock “I guess you’re right… Here goes!” He tossed the rock at the window to the right of the door, which shattered on impact. “That wasn’t too hard. Let’s grab a map of Equestria and the letter!
“Shush girls enough of this pointless bickering I cannot fathom the idea that even though our loved ones are in danger we are sitting here argu—Oh my goodness…. HOW DARE THEY?!” Rarity exclaimed.
“Rarity what are you talking about?” Rainbow Dash asked annoyed.
“I have a small magical barrier that surrounds the boutique to alarm me of intruders, and I have just been alarmed! Quick girls! Come with me to the boutique we must stop this thief!” Rarity turned and threw Twilight’s door open. “I will rip them to shreds.” She took off galloping towards the boutique. Applejack shrugged and looked at the others.
“I guess… we’d better go with her.” They all ran out into Ponyville, nightfall was soon approaching.
“Aeolus we’ll be back just stay here and don’t wander outside! We don’t know if it’s going to storm tonight!” Twilight shouted behind her as she shut the door with her telekinetic powers. Little did she know; Aeolus was already gone.
“Alright I think I got everything I need.”
Good then let’s get out of here, I got this weird feeling…
Aeolus bounded out of the broken glass window and headed out towards the back entrance of Ponyville, near Sweet Apple Acres. He luckily found a map in the living room and the mysterious letter on Rarity’s vanity upstairs. He even happened across a saddlebag that bore the same insignia as Sweetie Belle’s Crusader cape. A bag he planned on returning.
“Now all I gotta do is grab some food and head out onto the carriage trails.” He said out loud as he ran through Ponyville. He slowly felt himself going faster and faster. Even though his hooves burned he felt a certain rush to going this fast, Aeolus loved it.
I would slow down…
The only reason Aeolus did was because within minutes of running from the boutique he found himself in the middle of the Apple family orchard. He quickly trotted towards the nearest tree, turned, and gave it a good buck. A dozen or so apples fell to the ground. Aeolus nabbed up as many as he could and tossed them quickly into his bag. He was reaching down to pick up the last one when the sound of twigs cracking under hooves was heard behind him.
He did an instant about-face and harshly spoke out. “Who’s there? I’m warning you to back off!” The sound was nowhere to be found at this point. With a sigh of relief Aeolus turned and was about to reach down for the apple when he noticed a pony towering slightly over him.
“Um… hi.” Aeolus said awkwardly to the shadowy figure looming over him.
“Who are you, and what are you doing?” The voice questioned him. It wasn’t too deep and scary, but the darkness concealing the pony definitely gave him a frightening appearance. Aeolus backed up slowly.
“Look listen I don’t want trouble, I just wanted to grab a couple of apples for a trip I’m going on, then I’ll be on my way!” He chuckled nervously. The pony got closer to Aeolus, who soon found himself backed up against a tree.
Oh dear Luna you did it now.
Aeolus closed his eyes, waiting for the tall pony to give him a thrashing for stealing apples, but instead the voice laughed softly.
“Wait a second… I recognize you! You’re Aeolus, The spirit guy right? Whoa dude chill, I’m not gonna hit you.”
Aeolus peeked one eye open slightly, in the light he recognized the pony, which was actually a Pegasus. It was the pony who danced with Rainbow Dash at the party the week before. The one that started the fight with the Earth pony who insulted Pegasi.
“My name is Gray Storm. What are you doing out here? Going on a trip? Rainbow Dash told me you were the Spirit who created Pegasi and needed to stay indoors… where are you going?” He had a quizzing look on his face. Aeolus stood up fully and answered the Pegasi.
“Hi Gray, I was ju--”
“Call me Storm if you’re not gonna use my full name.” Gray Storm corrected him.
“Ok. Listen Storm Unicorns are in trouble, they are starting to get really sick and die unless I find a pony named H in the town of Tall Tale and get him to create a cure! Improv and Sweetie Belle are at the hospital and…” But Aeolus was interrupted again.
“Improv is in the hospital?! Damnit what happened to him this time? Look I need to go check on him, he’s a good friend of mine. If you’re going out of your way to get a cure for him then you’re cool with me. Here, take this. It’s my favorite drink. I was here picking up my shipment but if you’re gonna be going on some sort of journey you’re gonna need some drinks.” The tall Pegasi reached into his Saddlebag and put two glass bottles into Aeolus’ bag. “Good luck man” He said before running off.
Alrighty then… Come on Aeolus you have to get moving! He might tell the others he saw you leaving!
“You’re right… let’s go.” Aeolus turned and took off into the wilderness, needing to pass through the Everfree before getting to the wagon trail. He had a lot of ground to cover… and only two weeks to do it.
“It’s not here! Whoever broke in stole the letter!” Rarity exclaimed as she nearly ripped her vanity apart with magic.
“Rarity please calm down, we’ll figure this out.” Twilight urged her to relax. She was exerting way too much magic all at once and it was dangerous for her horn. The others were looking around for any other signs of disturbance around the home… Applejack came across the first irregularity.
“Um Rare? Doesn’t Sweetie Belle have her own Cutie Mark Crusader saddlebag you made for her?”
“Yes Applejack why?”
“Because her door is open, and the saddlebag is missing.”
Rarity nearly teleported she moved into her sister’s room so fast. “WHAT?!” before she could fully search the room for any other missing items Pinkie yelled from downstairs.
“Hey Rarity?! I think your pretty map of Equestria is also gone, I have the bestest memory ever and when we were here earlier I specifically remember looking at it cause it looked so cool! But it’s not here anymore!”
Twilight froze. “Wait a second. The letter, a saddlebag, and a map is missing?” Her eyes widened as she realized what was happening. Aeolus had left. She focused all her magic quickly and envisioned seeing her room. She closed her eyes and teleported there instantly not explaining herself to the girls. Her window was wide open, outside the sky was turning a deadly black, storms were approaching.
“Aeolus, what are you thinking?” She whispered as she shut her window. Twilight gazed at his bed and prayed to Celestia that he would be safe. Celestia herself answered her.
“I can no longer see him Twilight… I- I am feeling weak.” Celestia was sitting beside Twilight from seemingly out of nowhere.
“Celestia?! Oh my goodness what happened to you?”
Celestia was a wreck. She had scratches and bruise that darkened her beautifully white coat. Her hair had no shine or wave to it. Her horn was glowing with a slight red pulse.
“Typhoon… he attacked Cloudsdale. He… killed many ponies. Luna and I intervened but he was so strong. We were able to force his retreat, but the battle took a toll on both of us. I feel… so weak. Twilight his storms are affecting even myself and Luna. This has happened before… You need to find Hex, he’s the only one who can—who can s--” Celestia collapsed onto Twilight's floor. Her breathing was severely labored.
“Hex? Who is Hex? Celestia no wake up!” Twilight had tears in her eyes. “No, no, no!” She placed a hoof on Celestia’s chest and teleported them both to the hospital’s lobby. “Please can somepony help us?! I’m with the princess!” But when she saw the state the hospital lobby was in, she started losing hope. “Oh no.”
The storm that started only a few minutes ago now raged around Aeolus. The rain’s touch stung. The wind howled and threw Aeolus about as he ran. He could barely hear the voice in his head.
This is way too dangerous, you need to find a place to stay for the night!
“LIKE WHERE?!”
Ask one of these carriages!
Aeolus nodded and pushed himself against the wind. “HELP! SOMEPONY LET ME IN PLEASE! HELP ME!” He yelled as he traveled along the Carriage trail. All of the ponies had retreated into their carriages to avoid the storm, all of them ignored Aeolus’ pleas.
“SOMEPONY LET ME IN! THIS STORM IS TOO DANGEROUS!” As he said that red lightning struck a nearby tree and lit it ablaze. “Crap.”
A small voice farther down the Trail yelled out towards him. “HEY YOU! DOWN HERE! ARE YOU CRAZY?!” The harsh voice of a mare was hard to locate, Aeolus’ eagle eyes soon saw one carriage not far away with its lights on, and the door wide open. “HURRY UP!”
Aeolus bolted towards the carriage, his speed increasing quickly and his hooves started to glow golden. He was thankful for his speed for a moment, until the lightning started to strike right behind him as he ran. It seemed to follow him.
The storm recognizes you! RUN!
“HOLY CELESTIA!!” He yelled as he galloped, hooves now sparking. Seconds later he found himself right in front of the Carriage, and he threw himself inside. The mare shut the door behind him and thankfully the lightning stopped right before hitting the small mobile home.
“Are you stupid? Trying to go out in weather like this! What is the matter with you?!” The mare angrily scolded him. Aeolus didn’t mind the lecture, he was grateful.
“Thank you so much… I was getting kinda scared out there… What’s your name?”
“Trixie. The Great and Powerful.”
The lightning outside began to intensify and struck all around the trail. The terrified screams of ponies in other carriages was heard over the howling wind, which rocked the carriage back and forth, threatening to overturn it.
“Oh no you don’t!” The Unicorn named Trixie shot a blast of magic out, one that she meant as a protection spell for her home. But she hadn’t practiced it all too much, the resulting blast knocked out the light on the ceiling, as well as the Spirit of Wind.
“Whoops.”
Typhoon stood at the mouth of a cave, watching his storm spread beautifully over the landscape. He knew the princesses were weakened from the power of the storms and their battle. His victory was coming. But there was still a few pests left to get rid of.
“Where are you Aeolus? I know you survived.”
To the east from Typhoon’s hideout lightning from the storm began to strike rapidly at the ground, grabbing his attention. He turned and laughed at the storm. “Yes… if you see him. Destroy him. Destroy all of them.” He smiled slowly, revealing sharp teeth.
“…Typhoon? My lord?”
The voice from behind him was annoying to no end. He had only had the mare in his service for a little over a week and he was already tired of her. He sighed harshly.
“What is it little one?”
“I um… was wondering what you wanted me to do to help you now… my lord…” The little soft spoken voice whispered. Typhoon was about to tell the little Pegasus to throw herself off the mountain, but then he had a better idea.
“I know you’ve always had other Pegasi make fun of you… for your little flight problem. I know you always deep down hated the other Pegasi… That is why I found you. You prayed for somepony to take revenge. That somepony is me. I do think I have an assignment for you little pony.” He turned and looked at her, the little Pegasus was hiding slightly in the shadows of the cave. He knew she respected him, and also was afraid of him. All he could see of her was her bright pink mane.
“I want you to go down to the various towns throughout Equestria, and find a pony named Aeolus. He is the pony all Pegasi worship. If I can get rid of him, you will rule over all alongside me and nopony will ever make fun of you again. Do you understand?”
The Pegasus nodded quickly and with her body low towards the ground slowly crawled out of the cave. Typhoon incased her head with magic and lifted her head up to look at his. “Do not be afraid of me. I’m your friend. I won’t let anything happen to you.” He dropped her down and watched as she left the cave and started climbing down the mountain.
Typhoon would wait for her to return with news of Aeolus’ location. As soon as she found him he would kill them both.
“The pieces are falling into place once again. I’m sorry Sombra you aren’t here to enjoy victory with me. Who knows? Maybe after I take over I’ll go down into Tartarus and pull your pitiful body out of there. Gravemind will let you go I’m sure, the amount of death we will spread will be more than enough for sustain Tartarus for years...” Typhoon laughed slightly to himself for a moment. He looked down over Equestria and squinted. He could see everything for miles. His vision was just as powerful, if not more powerful than that of Aeolus. He saw a small town to the north, and decided to continue his own search there. The unsuspecting town will burn if they do not cooperate. Luckily for Typhoon, they usually didn’t.
“Now… to find the other two.”
In a harsh red flash of light, The Spirit of Disaster and Fear was gone.
