Story of my life
The Memories
Previous ChapterNext ChapterMANY THOUSAND YEARS AGO...(Yes, this is still the dream.)
In the dream I was having, all I saw at first was white. Then the green of plants, and finally, I found myself in the Everfree Forest. Not much different then it usually was, but there were two things off about it, one being a certain blue mare behind a few trees. The other being the fact that I could see.... me? I shook my head and looked again. Yep, that's definitely me, without the artificial leg, that is, walking through the forest with a map in my-hi-. Screw it I'm gonna refer to the other me as "him". Anyway, he was holding a map in his magic when he spoke.
"I think.... No wait, yep, this is definitely the place." Confusion filled me as he walked towards a cave nearby, stowing the map in his saddle bag. He returned a few minutes later with a small crystal in his magic. He simply opened up his bag and brought out a few other crystals. He continued to cast a spell, which seemed to last a few minutes, and finally put the crystals back in his bag. "There, the spell should be working no-"
A loud snapping sound interrupted him, causing the three of us to look towards the area that it came from. The other me kept turning and looking around. When he was turned away from the place the snapping noise came from, the worst happened. A Nightmare came from behind the trees. One sentence repeating was clear on the changeling in the Nightmare's sights: Don't turn around.
But he did, and just as he did that, one of the Nightmare's forehooves collided with his face. Very. *Hard.*** Hard enough to knock his fangs out pretty painfully, and as he closed his eyes and hissed in pain, the Nightmare conjured up a magical blade and slit his throat.
Now that, was confusing, but then how am I here now? As the Nightmare left, I returned my attention to the body in the forest. It stirred a little, and finally, it opened its eyes and stood up and spoke.
"The spell worked." He let out a laugh. "The spell worked! I can't believe it actually worked!" So that's what the spell did. Luna walked from behind the trees and stood next to me as the memory continued. "Oh just wait till my father hears about this!" The memory began to fade into white as it finished. Then, Luna asked her question.
"Star Flame, what was that?" If one were to look close enough, you would see my past fast forwarding in my pupils, I gave her my answer.
"That, that was the day I died." Luna merely stood there in shock as another memory found its way through.
One week ago from present-time...
Me and Luna found ourselves on the mountain that Canterlot rests on. We could see me with my disguise, (Black coat, same mane style, blue eyes, alicorn (dumb idea, I know, and male), and had a cutie mark that had a beige six-pointed star with a purple cloud behind it.) hiking up the mountain. He obviously was losing his footing as he took shaky steps upward.
Luna moved to help him, but I blocked her with a hoof and said "Let the past play." She looked at me then looked back at the pony quickly losing his footing and falling of the side, pulling his wings out to try and slow his decent. He still tumbled around getting cut by the rocks, and finally reaching the buildings of the city below. He tumbled through the buildings, losing his disguise in the process. He finally came to a halt on the street a block or two away from the hospital.
"Damn," I muttered under my breath, "and I thought seeing it from first-person was scary."
"You mean, that was you?" Luna asked
"Yeah, a week ago." I replied. Everything began to fade away as I was waking up.
When I woke up I immediently sat up in bed to see Luna standing before me. She simply asked, "Who is your father?"
"King Metamorphosis, why?" I replied.
"So, that means that you're a prince."
"Apparently."
"I need to tell this to my sister."
"Go right ahead." I told her, and she teleported away. i simply walked through the bedroom door and found my way outside without getting lost this time.
I just looked out at the night sky and sighed. I had forgot. Everything. I mean, how am I supposed to react to that? I shook my head and somehow didn't hear the door behind me opening. And then there was a voice behind me.
"So, you're a prince, huh?" I looked behind me and saw Shining Armor. i just turned back around in response. "Something wrong?"
"Yeah." I replied.
"What happened?"
"Oh, nothing just the fact that I somehow forgot everything i knew for a while."
"Ouch."
I looked at him with a question on my mind. "What are you doing at this hour?" He looked around quickly then walked back inside as I just look away from the door again. A certain princess walking outside. I turn slightly to see it was Celestia.
"I guess I'm going to tell the public about what happened." She said.
"Guess so." I replied.
"You don't mind showing up do you?" I looked at her.
"No, not really."
"Then you might want to prepare, it's going to be tomorrow." The solar princess told me as she walked back inside. I sighed and looked into the stars, mentally preparing myself.
Tomorrow's the day I'm going back home.
