Chapter 3: Changeling Kingdom

Previous Chapter

Fang, the son of the queen of changelings, was never aloud outside, "Mom, can I go out, I wanna make friends. I'm too cooped up in  this castle."

Chrysalis, the queen, was tired of telling him, "No Fang, you don't  know what could happen out there. You're my only son and I want to keep you safe."

Fang  wasn't surprised about the answer, he always asked every day. Fang wanted to live, he wanted to smell the fresh  air, he wanted to get out of this castle.

" ALERT, ALERT, ENEMY SIGHTED" said an enemy-sighting alarm,a siren of warning was heard throughout the kingdom. The changeling soldiers got to their areas of attack and readied. The enemy was nowhere to be seen. The alarm must have malfunction ... but there was no alarm anymore, only a hole. The insect chittering  was becoming more loud, making the culprit surface.

"Your majesty- AHHHHH" the changeling was being eaten by a big ... worm of some sorts.

"GRABOID, ATTACK." yelled another changeling. All the changelings know of the Graboid and attacked. The Graboid ate and then dug down, knowing what happened last time he faced changelings. The beast then took the dirt from the ground, making the kingdom crumble and fall. Many changelings died, but enough to remake a kingdom lived. The queen, stuck in her castle, tried to get Fang to safety. She grabbed him and flew towards  the window. She almost made it ... until part of the ceiling crushed her, leaving their chance of survival very dim.

Chrysalis didn't know what to do, she was stuck and her son was there. She had one idea, an idea that she didn't want to say, "Fang, you have to go without me, it's too late for me, i'm not gonna make it."

Fang couldn't believe what he was hearing, "Mom, please, we can both make it, just hold on."

Fang got up so he could find a way to move the ceiling, but was quickly stopped by Chrysalis, "Fang ... if you don't leave then both of us won't make it. I love you Fang, I'll always be with you no matter what."

The building was about to collapse and Fang didn't want to leave his mother. Fang didn't want to do it, but he finally left, but not before saying, "I love you too mom."

Fang flew out the window of the castle, looking behind him to see his mother for the last time as the castle collapsed. Fang turned his head back with tears in his eyes, vowing vengeance. He now wants revenge on the devilish beast known as the Graboid. It wasn't long until he found the remaining changeling citizens, now looking sad and afraid. Fang had a different look, a look of anger andhad a hint of flames in his eyes. Fang was a prince of changelings no more, he was now a king and he had citizens to take care of.

Fang headed towards the group of changelings and he had something to say, "My citizens, today we had a great downfall in our empire, but we are strong, we are brave, we are vigilant, we are changelings, and we can survive anything. We never had anything and I mean ANYTHING get in our way and we won't let a huge worm destroy all that we are. Join me and hunt the beast or stay and rebuild the kingdom. It wouldn't matter if you all decide to stay, I wouldn't mind. You, Archey, you are the leader of the construction teams while I and maybe others hunt the deadly God of the underground, the Graboid."

Some of the changelings were moved  by this speech and wanted to go with their new king, about 20 of them. The rest stayed and helped rebuild the kingdom. Fang gathered any remaining weapons that were still intact and gave it to his warriors.

As soon as he gathered the materials for the hunt the group of 21 headed out, entering the game of cat and mouse. They entered their side of the Everfree forest and walked towards what the Equestrians knew as Ponyville. Fang watched for the signs of a Graboid or any other predator.

The Graboid was heading towards the sound of hooves on the ground, using it's sneakiness to get the upper hoof. The Graboid was smart enough to think of a plan. Fang saw the dirt rise by a creature, heading away from the group. Fang shouted, "There it is, get it!"

The group charged at the moving beast, moving a little bit apart. The Graboid made three pathways before showing his location, making the changelings stop in their tracks. "We gotta split up, since there are three paths and 21 of us, it's an easy 7 changelings that goes to each pathway, 7 to the left, another to the right, and the last 7 to the center, 7 plus 7 plus 7 does equal 21 and there are three pathways, three 7's used to make 21. Now split." announced Fang. Fang and his group headed for the left while the rest headed the other two ways. The Graboid was at the midpoint of all three pathways and had successfully split his meal into three easy bits and headed for the ones on the left.

Fang and his group galloped to top speed with their weapons drawn. One was falling behind, looking back every few seconds, scared and freightened. He was so timid that the sound of an owl scared him. Fang and the other five didn't notice that one of their own was falling behind. The changeling was now alone and was also being watched. He tripped on a rock and fell flat on his face. He quickly got up, but felt the earth shake as the Graboid ate the changeling whole, muffling the screams so he would not alert the others. The beast went underground again to hunt the other six.

Fang stopped real quick and surveyed the area, quickly signaling the others to stop as well, ten Manticores cornering two dragons with a couple of timber wolves watching were in their way. Fang was about to go back when he noticed that one of their team members were missing.

Fang was annoyed, "Where is Teaser? he was supposed to stay close."

Just then Fang saw the dirt rise signaling the Graboid heading towards not them, but the other beasts with them in its way.

"MOVE!!!" commanded Fang as the Graboid was in a head-on collision course to the beasts. The Graboid heard Fang and headed for him, "Aw man."

Fang ran out there with the Graboid in tow, going past all the other beasts that were looking at him with hungry eyes. They chased the young child changeling until they saw who was also chasing them and so didn't care about food, but survival. They ran past Fang and headed out the forest, one of the dragons knocking Fang up a tree, branches caught in his holey legs and forelegs, Fang was now stuck. "Help, please, I need help. Please? I'm up this tree. Please?" cried Fang, after all he was a child changeling.

A figure showed up, all beaten up and injured, looked like a pegasus with orange skin and purple mane. the figure looked like a boy so Fang called out, "Hey dude, bro, can you help a brother out?"

The figure looked offended, "HEY, i'm a girl idiot,"
