The other 5 ponies are dead. Twilight grieves, she can't help but remember everything and cry. Celestia tells her a story about her life with her friends. Their relationship as student and teacher connect.
Twilight Sparkle is grieving. She lost her friends; Princess Celestia tries to help her out. But this grief is too close to hers as well. Celestia tell her story of her friends. Twilight is impressed; the teacher who she thought had never had 1 friend, had 5 more, same amount as she did. They all died as well over time. And with each of them still alive and alone, Twilight must learn to accept it, and try and find the new element, by a sign.
