Extinguishing Evil: Alternate Ending

“The door is bucking locked! Since when did we get a lock!?” Scootaloo yelled, the screams of agony growing louder from inside the clubhouse. Apple Bloom pushed Scootaloo out of the way and didn’t hesitate to buck the door off it’s hinges. Her mouth went agape from what she saw. Sweetie Belle was repeatedly stabbing into the chest of Diamond Tiara. Her chest was ripped apart as Sweetie brutally and unmercifully tore into her organs.

Ahahahaha! Take this! And that! And one right here!” Sweetie squealed in delight, a huge smile plastered on her blood covered face. Each stab splattering blood all over the clubhouse. Scootaloo charged with a determined expression on her face, her jaw went agape when she saw the scene before her. Unlike Apple Bloom, she regained her senses and hastily went to help the pony who had tormented her. She grabbed Sweetie by the waist and pulled her away from her victim. Sweetie Belle growled and swung the knife blindly behind her. More blood splattered around the clubhouse, but it wasn’t Diamond Tiara’s blood.

Scootaloo immediately put a hoof to her shoulder, a large gash trailing down her shoulder and foreleg. She gasped as she tried putting weight on her injured leg. Pain rocketed through her body. but she fought through it for the time being.

Sweetie was now repeatedly stabbing the now lifeless body of Diamond Tiara. Diamond’s torso was now a bloody mass chopped meat and bones. Each stab causing more blood to splash onto the walls and floor of the clubhouse.

Apple Bloom and Scootaloo were now openly crying to the horrid scene. Apple Bloom was still in shock, but Scootaloo tried to fight through the pain and the terrible sights. With a burst of adrenaline she shot forward, swiftly tackling Sweetie Belle. She brought her muzzle to the knife handle and roughly ripped it from Sweetie’s grasp. Scootaloo wrestled Sweetie to the ground with her superior strength. Without even glancing behind her she yelled for her other friend.

“Apple Bloom! Get help now!” Scootaloo restrained Sweetie so she couldn’t move even in the slightest. Apple Bloom rushed out of the clubhouse, her sobs growing distant. Scootaloo brought her gaze back to Sweetie’s, the insane grin still plastered on her face. She brought a hoof to Sweetie’s face, a loud crack echoed around the clubhouse. Scootaloo quickly pinned Sweetie’s hoof back down to the hardwood.

How could you!?” she screamed. Blood dripped out of the openings in Sweetie’s dark grin. Scootaloo glared venom at her, tears pouring freely from her eyes. Her face contorted with anger, her eyes widening with disbelief. Scootaloo’s mouth scrunched up with disgust.

Sweetie’s insane grin slowly slipped off her face. She gazed into Scootaloo’s violet eyes. Sweetie Belle realized her mistake as her sanity slowly crept back into her body. She glanced at the dismembered body of Diamond Tiara. Tears filled Sweetie Belle’s eyes. She couldn't believe she did something so awful. A million feelings swam through her body at once: a few being regret, sorrow, and most of all, shame. Reality hit her like a bullet as she let her emotions flow.

Sweetie Belle bursted into tears, the salty liquid mixing with Diamond Tiara’s blood. Scootaloo was confused for a moment, but kept her hateful expression firmly on her features. Sweetie Belle tried to reach for the knife. When Scootaloo noticed this, she tightened her grip, her disbelief growing.

You would kill me!? Your best friend!” Scootaloo shouted loudly straight into Sweetie Belle’s tear filled eyes. Sweetie Belle shook her head, her sobs growing louder. She shook violently, trying to remove herself from Scootaloo’s tight grip.

“N-no I w-want t-to kill m-myself!” She sobbed. Her voice stuttered loudly. Execution was inevitable. Sooner was better in her case. Scootaloo was shocked for a moment; a pang of sadness struck her heart like an arrow.

What!? No! I won’t let you die! I won’t!” Scootaloo felt betrayed. But she was loyal, and nothing could separate her from her friends, not even this. More tears leaked from her eyes. Scootaloo leaned down to Sweetie Belle; she buried her face into Sweetie’s neck. She let her tears soak into Sweetie Belle’s blood-smeared coat. Despite Scootaloo’s action, she kept her tight grip on Sweetie Belle’s hooves.

“P-please?” Sweetie Belle replied weakly. Scootaloo felt her grip loosen at that one word. She kept her grip nevertheless. Scootaloo’s loud sobbing continued as she matted her friend’s coat with tears. She shook her head countless times. She wanted to pounce on her friend and hug her until they took her away, but forced herself to resist her burning desire, knowing what her friend had become.

Sweetie glanced one last time at the knife before staring at her orange friend once again. She opened her muzzle to say something, but nothing came out. When Sweetie managed to speak, she uttered the last thing Scootaloo wanted to hear in her entire life time.

“C-can y-you kill m-me?” Sweetie asked shakily. She sobbed between words, making her stutter. Scootaloo couldn’t hold in the urge anymore. She lunged at Sweetie Belle, wrapping her hooves around her waist tightly and squeezing the white filly’s body to the point of bursting. Scootaloo sobbed for another half minute. Before Scootaloo could reply to Sweetie Belle’s horrid request, the sound of faint hoofsteps caught their attention. Just outside the clubhouse was the sound of galloping hooves. Soon was the sound of the pitter patter of somepony walking up the ladder. After that was the sound of cursing and vomiting.

The Canterlot Court House.

The Canterlot Court House was the last place in all of Equestria that Sweetie Belle imagined herself to be. If she ever did, she definitely didn’t expect herself to be bounded by several chains and a pair of hoofcuffs on her forelegs. Sounds of ponies talking were apparent through the large wooden doors, the only voices she managed to recognize were either crying or talking quickly and incoherently. The large doors opened and blinded Sweetie Belle with the quick change of light. Once her eyes adjusted, she was able to catch the disgusted glares of the spectators, Jury, and the Judge, who was Princess Celestia herself.

She caught a glimpse of the Elements of Harmony. Rainbow Dash, Applejack and Twilight all gave similar glares as the rest of the Courtroom attendants. Rarity was sobbing her heart out into Fluttershy’s shoulder, who not quite crying. She had a look of sadness in her cyan eyes as she gazed out the window, looking at nothing in particular. Pinkie Pie stared down at the floor. Her mane was flat as she had a few tears in her eyes. She glanced up at Sweetie Belle and tried to give her a reassuring smile, trying to explain that it will all be okay. Sweetie Belle kept trotting down the aisle. She spotted her fellow crusaders who were both hugging eachother, sobbing loudly. Both Applejack and Rainbow Dash tried to comfort them, but nothing really worked. They hadn’t talked to anypony but themselves since Sweetie Belle was taken into custody.

“Go to Tartarus!” a random mare shouted before throwing a metal horseshoe at Sweetie Belle, striking her in the head. The group cheered as the mare was dragged out of the courthouse by two of the Royal Guard members. Sweetie Belle fell to the ground in pain, but stood up and fought through it. She got to the end of the aisle and lowered herself on the chair in the front of the courthouse. The crowd was still chattering among themselves, most of it was about Sweetie Belle. The rest was about the victims and their families.

Princess Celestia slammed the mallet on the wooden surface of the Judges table, silencing the gallery. She cleared her throat loudly before starting.”The court is now in session for the trial of Sweetie Joyous Belle. She stands accused of the murder of Diamond Tiara and for the murder of Silver Spoon. How does the defendant plead?” Princess Celestia’s voice boomed through the large room.

Sweetie Belle glanced at the floor, she gulped as she hesitated to say the word. Tears leaked from her eyes. She let out a strangled sob before mumbling an answer. “G-guilty.” She struggled to raise the volume of the voice, it was near impossible for her to say the word. Sweetie Belle sobbed quietly. Unfortunately for Sweetie Belle, Celestia didn’t hear her.

“I apologize, you will have to speak up.” The princess’ expression softened along with her voice. Sweetie Belle started to hyperventilate, a warm sweat breaking out on her forehead, making her mane slightly limp. She could feel the piercing glares of the ponies around her. Sweetie Belle could feel tears beginning to form. A feeling of claustrophobia closed in on her. She could hear voices and whispers around her. All of them were asking one simple question: Why? The voices increased in volume until they sounded like they were nearly shouting. Sweetie Belle felt nauseous, like she could just collapse and vomit. She held a hoof to her head. A pounding headache shot through her nerves. The voices only grew in volume. Tears started to streak from the filly’s eyes. Sweetie Belle fell off her seat and on to her knees, making the chains clang together. She let out a loud, screeching wail before breaking down to sobs. Another scream after another. Sweetie Belle continued sobbing. She screamed out everything that was on her mind.

I was only trying to protect my friends! Diamond and Silver Spoon tortured us! They were starting to kill me inside! All they ever did was hurt us! I tried being friends but they just made me cry or feel terrible about myself! I couldn’t stand it anymore! I know I was wrong b-but---” Sweetie paused her rant to let out another heart-wrenching sob. “I couldn’t control myself! I-I j-just---” Sweetie Belle felt like a massive weight had been lifted off her shoulders. She continued sobbing. It felt so different. Normally when she cried she would be comforted by her friend or family. Now, everypony just let her sob her heart out. Some watched the filly with pity, others with disgust.

Celestia watched Sweetie Belle with a saddened expression as the filly cried. She spoke in a loud comforting voice to attempt to calm the distressed filly. “Sweetie Belle, please, I need to hear your plea. I cannot end, nor continue the case if I don’t hear the words from your mouth.” Princess Celestia felt tears start to well up, but held them back. She knew the small filly was guilty.

Sweetie Belle attempted to calm herself, but it was a slow process. After numerous minutes, the filly’s sobs grew quieter until she was silently sobbing. Sweetie Belle swallowed loudly a few times, trying to speak up. She managed to find one letter. “G-g-g---” She stuttered on the word. She took a deep breath before she gained enough courage to say the one word.

“G-g-g-guilty.” Sweetie sobbed. Princess Celestia felt a single tear streak down her cheek.

“Very well,” Celestia sighed quietly but clearly. Rarity’s sobs grew several times in volume. Pinkie Pie let out a few sobs, as did Fluttershy. Everypony else’s expressions had portrayed great pity, though a few ponies still wore hateful glares. Princess Celestia felt two more tears make their way down her cheek. She didn’t like to see any of her subjects suffer, even if this filly was a murderer.

The Princess let out a long, tired sigh. She stopped for a second, thinking of an appropriate sentence to give to the filly. Princess Celestia glanced up at the crowd of ponies, all were looking at her for a response.

“Sweetie Joyous Belle, with a heavy heart, I hereby sentence you to spend two life sentences in a mental stability centre. You will be transported to Whinnypeg immediately after this trial.” Celestia banged the court mallet on the wooden surface, signaling the end of the case.

Sweetie Belle never sobbed louder in her life.

All Sweetie Belle could do was cry as she was taken away. She was led out of the courthouse and was surrounded by news reporters, all of them were asking every question possible. Sweetie was led to one of the royal carriages where she sat for hours on end.

The carriage ride only took a few hours, to Sweetie Belle it felt like years. The carriage came to a stop, curious, Sweetie glanced out the window and read the sign to the intimidating building.

‘Welcome to Ashluck Asylum’

Author's Note

I kind of consider this the real ending. I am much more proud.

A couple things, I am completely REDOING the chapters. It will still be the same in most ways but I left ALOT of things out.

By the way... sequel?
