Chapter one: The news
Load Full StoryNext ChapterAs the sun rose in the east gently, slowly, heavy rain clouds started to unleash their hold. Pouring drop after drop of rain onto canterlot and the whole of equestria. The princess of the sun sat on her balcony, greeting the day as it came. But she was not happy, not cheerful, no emotion was seen on her face. Her once beautiful coat, matted and uncempt. Her eyes heavy with lack of sleep, and her hair, droopy and lifeless.
She had received the news of the battle betwwen the dragons of dragornia and the canterlot guards. She touched her necklace of gold, a soft clink was heard as she took it off her neck and let it fall to the floor. Her crown heavy, it too was dropped onto the floor. She watched as it rolled and stopped by the necklace. Her eyes lifted from the metal as she watched the rain fall into the streets of her home.
A few hours earlier
As the battle ragged on, captian shining armor held onto his shelid and sword in his magic. Blood trickleing down his leg, joining the blood soaked ground as he pressed forward.
"Keep going! We have them on the run!" He shouted at his troops. Guards turned to soldiers, recruits to medics and many wounded screaming. He knew, each one of them would not survive, but he had to stay strong.
As he turned back to the battle field, a large hand reached out and grabbed him. He lost his breathe as it squeezed him, his sword dropping to the ground. The dragon cackles and tears off his armor. "Aah!" As he screams, blood escapes his mouth. "Whats the matter, prince? Lost your nerve?" Its deep voice, the gargle of rocks. He spat in its face, staining its scales with his bloody saliva. "I-i won't give up!"
The dragon squeezed him tighter. He went limp and his blood dripped onto the stained ground. "Shining!" His soulders watched as the dragon tore off his ear. The unicorns charged at the beast and he dropped the limp prince. They assaulted the dragon with swords and spells, driving it back to the trenches. The head guard rushed to his commanders side and dropped his helmet next to the broken armor. "Captian.." he touches shining's ear and calls for a medic.
Meanwhile, princess aurora was slashing at the dragons around her, her armor stained with blood and her eyes full of rage. "Come at me!" The next dragon came at her, his teeth bared. "Ill rip you to shreds!" It fell with a mighty thud as the princess slashed his throat, killing it.
"Goodnight, princess..." She was hit in the head and blacked out.
Back at the castle
Celestia held the helm to her chest as the rain poured down on her, the tears streaming down her face burning. "Its not true..." She started to weep openly, but hushed herself after she heard her daughter stir in the next room. "I...i need to be strong for her..." She held her breathe and waited for the foal to go back to sleep. "I can't be loosing hope.." But the words were sour on her lips. Filling the air with an unseen mist. Clouding her judgement.
"I can't loose her...not like this..." She knew she had to be strong, not just for her daughter, but for her kingdom.
