Otts&Miles: Dark, Dark Love

It was a bright, sunny day in PonyVille, birds singing, ponies chatting, it was cheerful, the way PonyVille should be. Now, let me introduce myself, I am Otts Gamer, a blue Pegasus colt with a dirty blonde mane with a blue streak down the middle, I have sapphire eyes and a game pad as my cutie mark, I'm a friendly colt, I love making new friends and hanging out with the friends I already have, going out for picnics in the park, playing games or just staying in and having a good time. Now, today was different to any other day, as for today, a special friend of mine arrived in town, except, he wasn't exactly my friend yet, we never met until now, his name, Miles, I never did find out his last name, shame really, anyways, moving on, it was about three o'clock in the afternoon, I had just finished getting some groceries and was heading back, to get back home I have to travel past the train station, as I did I saw the train pull in, I knew my friend Rarity had been to Canterlot for the weekend for some royal business, so I thought I'd wait and see if she had come back, ponies came off the train but no Rarity, I was disappointed as I had missed her these last couple of days, I shrugged it off and stared to trot back home, when a soft innocent voice behind me spoke up.

"E-excuse me..?" the voice said "C-can you help me please sir?".

I turned to the voice, there was nopony in front of me.

"Down here"

A small orange hoof waved at me, I looked down and saw a small orange colt, with a orange and white mane, and a white nose, his eyes were a light blue.

"I'm looking for somepony..."

he was nervous, I could tell from his mannerisms and the way he was speaking, he avoided eye contact and looked down at his hooves for the most part, I got down to his level

"Who are you looking for buddy?"

I smiled softly to comfort him, make him feel safe around me, he looked to me with a faint smile

"I'm looking for...uhm..."

He pulled a piece of paper out of his blue saddle bag.

"I'm looking for Oats"

I laughed a little "Oats? Mind if I see the paper?"

He nodded and hesitantly gave me the paper, it didnt say "Oats" but it did say "Otts".

"This says Otts little guy"

he nodded and smiled "that's what I meant! Y-you know him?"

I smiled and returned the paper to him, he put it back in his saddle bag.

"I do know Otts, we're very close"

he looked happier, what did he want with me? Only one way to find out "Why you looking for him? If you don't mind me asking of course"

"Well...I know he used to live at the orphanage, I came from their to find him"

Ah, the orphanage, how I hate that place, kid made the right choice getting away. "Oh? And you're looking for him because?"

I needed to know, if he's trying to make me go back, he has no chance.

"Well..I sorta...ran away...." He sighed and kicked at the ground, looking down.

"Oh...thats awful kid....can I tell you a secret?" He looked up at me and nodded, I whispered to him "I'm Otts" Of course he didn't believe me....

"How do I know you're not lying? You could be anypony"

I smiled, reciting the orphanage oath, his eyes widened in shock, he then gave the biggest grin I had ever seen, hugging my fore legs tight

"It is you!"

I was confused, why was he so happy

"Uh...kid, why the huggy huggy?"

He stopped and smiled "Sorry, I just can't believe I found you! They said I wouldn't and I did!"

Hmph, typical, they never did like me their, telling this guy I would never be found "Haha, ok kid, seriously, why did you look for me?"

"Well...since I ran away...I kinda need someplace to stay...and I thought...because we are both orphans...you would let me stay with you?"

He fluttered his eyes and grinned cutely, I felt touched, I just couldn't say no to his face! I let him stay with me "Sure thing! But, before we head back, whats your name little bro?"

He smiled "Noponies ever called me their bro before, my name is Miles, just Miles, I think..." He looked confused and a little upset, I chuckled and picked him up and place him on my back, he giggled and smiled happily

"Come on Miles, lets go to your new home!"

I started to trot before eventually taking off, as we lifted off Miles said to me "Uh...Otts? You left your groceries..."  I sighed and turned around, picking them up and resuming flying back home.

We reached my home and I let him inside, got him settled in, showing him his now room, which was just a spare room with an extra bed in, he yawned, it was pretty late at this point

"I'm sleepy Otts...." I smiled and took him to bed, tucking him in, he smiled sleepily

"Thank you..." He let out the cutest yawn "Otts...."

He slowly drifted to sleep, snoring lightly, I smiled and got up, turning out the light and going to my room, I got into my bed and slowly fell to sleep, things were going to be different around here, and boy, I wasn't expecting what would happen!
