Drake, Cinder, and Flint are long time comrades in the business of dealing with wormholes, and the threats within. After a successful operation their ships are wrecked and crash into Equestria after an explosion causes a separate wormhole to destabilize and collapse on them. Their once mighty ships are mostly wrecked, and the cargo they were hauling is scattered across Equestria, and an ancient evil they had thought to be merely a profit is released from its captivity and is now determined to rebuild its lost race, and destroy anything who gets in the way of its revenge. Meanwhile, Jack, the substitute mercenary the small corporation had employed appears to have other motives, and ponies and capsuleers alike begin to question if he can be trusted.
