Irontalon, a new start

The near-freezing temperature alone was enough to make the critter shiver, but the harsh winds mercilessly enhanced the cold. It kept shuffling its feet, one in-front of the other as it tried to escape the white, wet, cold ocean surrounding it. It called out several times, its frail voice being carried by the winds and snow. Tumbling slightly, it kept it's talons and wings wrapped around itself, trying to keep what warmth it had left, desperate to not let the cold steal what it had left. It kept calling out, little high-pitched squeals trying to be a call for help. With tears in its eyes, it stumbled in the snow once more and fell down to the harshly cold whiteness as it attempted to swallow it whole. It let out one last call for help as its vision got darker in the sea of white that it was faced with, feeling a strange warmth envelop its body as it slipped into unconsciousness.

Fluttershy was siting in the train looking out the window not joining her friends talk, Fluttershys pink earth pony friend Pinkie noticed her sad and hoped over to her, "hey Flutt-ey what ya' doing just sitting there looking all saddy-waddy?" Fluttershy just shrugged, but then a sound hit the yellow pony's ear, it was the sound of a kaw, like a birds call but it was telling her death. Fluttershy opened the train's window and jumped out flying to the sound she heard, her friends gasped and Rainbow Dash flew out after her.

"FLUTTERSHY STOP!" Rainbow Dash called after fluttershy but the yellow mare flew one to the sound ignoring the sound of her friend.

After a long while of flying, and ignoring, she finally found it. The little griffin laying in the snow, Fluttershy gasped and set the  griffin on her back. She took off flying to the Crystal Empires train station, by now the train would be back there, Rainbow Dash was now not talking she was now understanding the yellow mares worries.

They landed down at the train station, Fluttershy's friends ran up to her trying to understand why she left the train. Fluttershy took the little griffin runt off her back laying it down carefully on the ground. "Oh Fluttershy i didn't know that's why you let so you saved its life?" Twilight asked.

"I hope I saved it, It's so cold." Tears started to form in Fluttershy's eyes "what if i was to late? What if it is d-?" she was cut off by a weak kaw coming from the griffin. The little runt opened its eyes and seeing the ponies looking at him he curled up in a ball and just waited in tell the mares where gone. Fluttershy taped it with her muzzle whispering how its okay, after a while the runt stood up and hid behind Fluttershy's leg not just to hide from the other mares but also to get warmth from the leg Fluttershy nudged it out form under her "come on little guy there's nothing to fear." the little griffin shakily walked up to them.

"Wow look at dat' ya'll its movin'! " Applejack chuckled.

"Kaw ka kaw." The little griffin let out

"OHMYGOSH IF IT WAS TALK BIRD-NESS THEN IT CAN HAVE A PARTY AND IF IT CAN HAVE A PARTY I CAN MAKE IT A PARTY! TIME TO MAKE A GRIFFIN BIRD PARTY!" Pinkie said in a burl of sound as she ran away in to the Crystal Empire. Twilight laughed and the group followed Pinkie's trail, the griffin laying on Fluttershy's back they where heading to pinkies party.

"Hey little guy are you able to speak pony words or just griffin?" Fluttershy asked the little griffin siting on a chair.

The little griffin nodded "a little." Fluttershy was pretty shocked but happy about it.

"Well little guy you should go have fun." Fluttershy nudged him with her nuzzle.

"Okay." The griffin runt jumped off the chair and walked around, he noticed a white mare bobbing her her head to the music, it seems like the music is coming from near her but it seems loud there and her glasses scared him a bit so he did walked up to her.

"Oh hi griffin-ey are you having fun? this is your party after all!" Pinkie jumped out of no where yelling to the nameless griffin.

"Oh uh hey i guess it's fun." He said, pinkie looked kind of sad he wasn't to happy.

"Hm oh i know a filly who you can talk to come on!" The pink pony grabbed him and threw him on her back and jumped a random way, the little griffin was clinging to her back trying not to fly off.

After awhile of bouncing pinkie stoped in front of a little white filly with a dull pink mane "um you need something pinkie?" The filly said.

"Oh well you know who this party is for!? well i brought the party-honor-griffin-filly-thing, you two should talk" Pinkie said as she shook the griffin off her back, he hit the ground with a thud, he stood up with a little bit of pain.

"Ugh oh um hello." The griffin said kind of confused.

The filly was kind of surprised to see the griffin "oh um m-my name is Sweet candy." She held out a hoof and the griffin shook it "oh um whats your name." She asked.

"Well i don't have a name right now i was left to die form my parents even before i was named." The griffin looked down a bit sad.

Twilight's ears flicked up and she turned to see the griffin runt and filly talking "Hm well you could call your self Irontalon!"

"Uh Twilight where did you get the name Irontalon from?" The griffin runt asked the purple mare.

"Oh well Irontalon was the first griffin emperor!" Twilight said a bit to excitedly making the Sweet and Irontalon chuckle.

After talking a bit with Sweet, Irontalon when't to Fluttershy "hey little guy, Twilight told me about your new name its a nice name." Fluttershy said.

Fluttershy's five other friends where staring down at Irontalon "Uhh why are you all looking at me."

"Well." Twilight started but Rarity cut in.

"Well my dear, we wanted to know if you would like to live with Fluttershy, she suggested it." The griffin nodded.

"It would be great to live with Mis. Shy!" Irontalon was very happy.

"Oh well thank you for being okay with it and i am sorry if i am not a good care taker." Fluttershy added "and you can just call me Flutter." The group laughed and talked and Sweet came to the group and joined in, it was a pretty great party.
