Rebuilding a Rainbow

The next day at the library, Twilight and Rainbow Dash were sound asleep. Twilight was first to wake up, she looked at Rainbow who was still sleeping. she smiled that Rainbow was sleeping in peace and not having a nightmare. She sure looks beautiful sleeping. thought Twilight. Twilight got up and notice Spike was out of bed, which she guessed that he must be downstairs. "Spike where are you." Twilight asked softly so she doesn't wake up Rainbow.

"Downstairs, i'm making you and Rainbow breakfast."

To Twilight, she didn't know Spike wanted to make them breakfast. Twilight got next to Rainbow and tapped her. "Rainbow, wake up." Twilight said. Rainbow was still sleeping, Twilight then got to her cheek and kissed the sleeping mare. Rainbow then woke up.

"HUH?"

"Morning Rainbow"

Rainbow then looked at Twilight and started to rub her eyes. she was half asleep but she didn't bother. "Ugh Twi, why wake me up early?"

"Uh remember you told me you wanted to pick up Tank?"

"Oh, right. also I want to bring a couple of settlement items and something else here. if you are okay with it."

"I'm okay with it. so how did you sleep?"

Rainbow yawned and got out of bed. she then stretched her body and wings. she then looked at Twi. "Peacefully this time. but i also got visited by Luna in my dream and she told me to tell you something." said Rainbow as she followed Twilight downstairs to the kitchen.

"What did she tell you to tell me?"

"She told me to tell you that Since i'm in protection program and it seems JL-4 is resurfacing and you only know small detail. Princess Luna said Princess Celestia will send you a copy of the JL-4 case file through Spike. She said that you have the right to know about the case now."

"Oh."

Twilight and Rainbow then sat in the kitchen and began to eat what spike made for all of them, as they continued eating there was a flame and a burp coming from spike. a Scroll attached to a big file was just sent, and it had the Celestias Seal on it. Twilight then levitated the letter and swallowed what she was in her mouth and begun to read

My dear student Twilight

As you heard from us, Rainbows father escaped from prision.

however i do know Rainbow told you very little detail about the Case.

so i am granting you the Right to look at the Copy of the Case file i made for you.

everything is included. This will clear things up for you

Rainbow gulped her food and looked at Twilight. "She send a copy of our own?"

"Apparently, why don't i clean up and we can read this then we can go to your place."

Rainbow agreed and they finished their breakfast. After they finished Twilight begun washing the dishes and after she finished she sat down with Rainbow Dash. who looked nervous. "you ready to see the past?"" Twilight asked

"Yes…yes i am."

Twilight then begun opening the case file and she opened up the file and she went straight to the case summery part.

Verdict: Guilty

Twilight then read on in the case file summery, according to what she read, Rainbow Flare had a mental disorder that caused the whole thing to occur. It went on and was stating Rainbows testimony of the events transpiring. Rainbow refused to stand as a witness due to the trauma and physiological harm she went through and had Fluttershy give Rainbows testimony. In Rainbows testimony which was being given by Fluttershy, the child abuse, assault and domestic battery started to happen when she was 8 years old and when her mom left due what Rainbow Flare said. Another witness came up and sated That he knew that Flare was abusing his own daughter and said he witnessed him murder StormChaser in the back alley of town hall with a Dagger. The Prosecutor of the Case, Golden Spark, said that Flare is deranged. Rainbow Flare then went haywire and was found guilty on the spot. Twilight read on and it stated that Rainbow was then summon into the courtroom and she was forced under law to live with Fluttershys family until she has her own house. Rainbow Flare was given life behind bars in Manehatten Solitary Prison, a prison for the mentally ill criminals.

Some time later

Twilight then finished reading the case file and was now looking at Rainbow with a sad look. She realized that Rainbow father was insane psychopath and killed an innocent pony, and traumatized his own daughter for life. Twilight was now tearing up. "R…Rainbow" Twilight said in pain.

"You now see why i never talked about my past. It still haunts me to this day."

Rainbow then looked at Twilight, she now noticed Twilight was now crying. Rainbow felt bad, not only Twilight was crying, but she was hurt at the revealing truth of the JL-4 trial. Rainbow walked up To Twilight and pulled her into a hug. Twilight hugged Rainbow back with tears still flowing in her eyes. "Twi, it's okay, the case been over for a couple years now. Please, don't cry. besides, in a few months the statue of limitations for the case run out" Rainbow murmured gently as she was brush Twilights mane with a hoof.

"R…Rainbow."

"Twi, it's not easy for me to think of the past. All i want is to move on, start a new life. You're helping me do it."

Twilight took it in and letted her tears dry for a couple of minutes. minutes later she was no longer crying. She levitated the case file and put it in her room in her drawer. she then came downstairs and walked up to Rainbow. "Lets get going to your house so you can get Tank and your stuff." said Twilight

Rainbow nodded and the two walked out side, they then took off into the sky and headed towards Rainbows house. Rainbow had another thing she wanted to bring. Something she had and kept to this day, that contains her past.

At Rainbows House, Rainbow was going around her home and grabbing settlement items she wanted to bring. Tank was Downstairs with Twilight. In Rainbows room, Rainbow was gathering a couple of settlement items even her toara she earned at the best fliers competition. But the last thing she grabbed was one she never thought she would take, her dream journal. She remember every now and then she had dreams of Twilight and her surrounded by clones of herself. She remembered that everytime the dream ended she finds her sheets wet due to the dream, which she considered it to be a wet dream. Please lord, make this dream come true someday. Rainbow thought when she stared at the book. She put it in her saddlebag an continued. Meanwhile downstairs, Twilight however was looking around Rainbows house, to her she saw tons of Wonderbolt poster. She knew that Rainbow was a huge fan of them and she was in the academy. But what caught her attention was something on a shelf, a Small book. Twilight used her magic to grab the book and glanced at the cover. "Rainbows Journal" was Printed on the cover. "Rainbow?" called Twilight

"Yea Twi?" called Rainbow from her bedroom

"What is this book i found on your shelf?"

"I be down there to take a look, i got everything."

Rainbow then came down stairs and came by Twilight. "What book are you talking.....oh..... I see you found my Journal." Rainbow said in a sad voice as she caught sight of the journal. Twilight noted that the journal was making Rainbow feel sad and nervous, she even could tell by the Neckless color, it was blue.

"Why is this journal making you sad."

"It's the original copy of the events that took place during the Jl-4 incident. I summited the Back up copy which was incase my dad destroyed the journal, as evidence for the trial."

"whats in the journal."

"Like I said, it deals with JL-4, basically it's all about the events of my dad commiting domestic battery, Assault, child abuse and endangerment. It also contains the aftermath. I forgot to mention, in the journal, in some pages it shows something you will feel bad about me of what i was about to do."

"What were you gonna do?"

"I was attempting to commit suicide."

"Wait. You tried to commit suicide?"

"Yes. According to Shy, she stated that Celestia, whom was the Judge of the case, requested the journal to be read, The defense whom was defending my dad, even agreed just incase. As they read it, They knew right away, that my dad was driving me to insanity. I heard the defense even couldn't handle this type of case, so right away after the last testimony, my dad was found Guilty of all charges.  but after my father was found Guilty, i was not only force to live with Fluttershy and her family, I was forced to go to counseling for a few years due to trying to commit suicide. The courts even requested Fluttershy to moderate me the whole time incase I try again."

"How did you try?"

"Well i tried taking a Knife and stabbing myself in the heart, couldnt do it. I tried to drown myself, chickened out. I tried to hang myself, but i stopped myself. I also though of Jumping off the edge of Cloudsdale, couldn't because fluttershy stopped me. i tried different ways, but didn't work. In the journal it has these words. "I WANT TO DIE". Celestia, whom was the Judge for the trial, she ordered me to go to counseling and Fluttershy to be by my side at all times during it just incase i tried to take my life. The counseling worked."

Twilight didn't even know what to say, she never knew that Rainbow tried to kill herself due to her father. WHY THAT BUCKING SACK OF HORSEAPPLES! IF RAINBOW FLARE EVER GETS KILLED, I HOPE HE BURNS IN HELL, HE DESERVES IT! Doing this to Rainbow, why? Rainbow is very hurt by the case, her father abusing her. and now this? Twilight thought.

"You okay Twi?"

"I am, i'm just thinking in my mind right now."

I need to protect Rainbow, her life was destroyed, she tried to take her own life, and she's being haunted by her past. This is more serious then she told me before.

Twilight then hugged Rainbow and gave her a gental kiss. Despite Rainbow remembering her past, she knew that Twilight was trying to cheer her up. Twilight then looked at Rainbow. "Hey, do you want me to, you know, cast the spell on you to make you less tense and relax when we go on the picnic with our friends?" asked Twilight.

Rainbow then thought for a moment, she knew it would be best if they knew about the journal, and it would be best if she was under the spell during the picnic. "Yes Twi."

Twilight then nodde. both her and Rainbow took off and drop offed her items except for the journal and head towards the field where their friends were

Picnic

Both Twilight and Rainbow Dash arrived at the field where their friends were. The hugged them and sat down. "How are you feeling right now sugarcube? About your father escaping from prison?" asked Applejack

"Still hurts."

"Well you did the right thing when you summited your backup journal to the court containing the events of the Incident." said Fluttershy

the 3 friends then gasped. Rainbow didn't even mention a Journal. "He was found guilty due to ah Journal of yours?" asked Applejack

Rainbow then explain the whole thing about the Journal. She explained the events, the trauma, the pain, and even the result. Her 3 friends mouths fell right open, fluttershy already knew. They didn't even knew Rainbow tried to kill herself. after all of them started to calm down, Rainbow Tapped Twilight. "Did you say you were going to cast that spell of yours on me?" she reminded Twilight

"OH yeah, thanks for reminding me."

"Uh what spell. ya better not be controling her mind. ah highly disapprove of that."

"No Applejack, the spell she means is the Relaxation Spell. It's a spell that when it's cast, the pony that has been casted with it will be relaxed, calm, and less tensed. It will also make their mind at ease so they won't be thinking."

"So she wants you to cast that spell on her?"

"I asked her, and she said it was okay."

Twi then turned to Rainbow. "Rainbow, sit still and breathe in and out." she said. Rainbow soon did what she was told. Twilight then remained focus.

"Now follow my voice as i count down, as i will count down the spell will start to take effect."

"Okay Twi."

As Twi was counting down, Rainbow started to feel more Relaxed and less tensed. Their friends even noticed. As Twilight finished counting, Rainbow was completely relaxed and less tense. Twilights spell was complete. Rainbow looked at Twilight whom was looking back. "how you feeling?" she asked

"Relaxed"

"That's good to hear Rainbow."

Through out the picnic, Twilight sat by Rainbows side to keep her company, but she made sure to tell her friends to not mentioned anything about JL-4 since Rainbow is under the spell. The others promised not to say anything about JL-4. During the time the mane 6 enjoyed the picnic. Rainbow looks over to Twilight, pleading. She sifts her shoulders lightly before turning away from Twilight and laying down. Twilight pushes her hoofs on Rainbows back. Twilight and Rainbow both look to relax; oblivious to their friends smiles. When they ate Twilight had to make sure the spell wasn't effecting her ability to hold things, which turned out it didn't. the 3 friends were reading Rainbows journal and they Gasped at the part where it talked about what she atempted to do.

Semptember 8th 2006

It's still been going on. My dad abusing me, beating the hell out of me, heck he even hit me with a bottle.

for years, YEARS, this has been going on. Heck it's been going on for what, 6 or 7 years now. Anyway today he went insane. He pinned me to the wall and punched me in the face, and kicked me.

Seriously what is wrong with him. all i did was stay in my bedroom and cried after what he did, saying "I WANT TO DIE" and "I WANT TO KILL MYSELF".

I should of killed myself when he wasn't around. This is insane, he's ruining my life. Ever since he committed perjury infront of the court of law, he gotten away with it and it cost my mom to go away. I'm praying he get's arrested someday. Heck even I do commit suicide, I hope he regrets his sinister sins he committed. I just hope someday this will end

Pinkies, Raritys, and Applejacks mouths dropped wide open as they read the entry. They never knew that this whole Incident of JL-4 was serious and left a big impact on those who were involved in the incident itself. They never knew the case also Traumatized Rainbow and left her scarred for life due to her so called father. Pinkie looked up in a scared.  "D..Dashie why did you try to..." Pinkie said shakily but was cut off by Twilight

"DON'T YOU EVEN FINISH THAT SENTENCE PINKIE! Rainbow is still under the spell."

"But.."

"No buts"

Pinkie nodded and they continued reading. they then reached the end of the journal and began to read the one that had a surprise

The trial and the end of the nightmare

June 24th 2007

The Trial came up for my father, whom was charged with 6 different charges. I was asked to take the witness stand but i had Fluttershy give my testimony because I didn't want to be in their when "He" was in their. Anyway the court gladly allowed my request for Fluttershy to take the stand and give my testimony. before Fluttershy, took the stand, I gave her my back up copy of my journal which was incase my dad found this one, in which the back up had the same entries as this one. The reason I gave Fluttershy the backup copy of this Journal is to submit it as evidence. The court accepted it as evidence and i told Fluttershy to have the prosecution read all journal entries involving what occurred. The court allowed it and they read it. As they Read everything my father was doing to me, Fluttershy told me the looks on their faces were the look of horror. She said they couldn't believe that my father was doing this.

The Trial went on and i heard that my father went haywire and threaten to attack the Bailiff and the defense. Next, the verdict came, My father, Rainbow Flare, was found guilty of all charges. I was informed he lost custody of me and is sentenced to life behind bars in Manehatten Solitary Prison, a prison where the insane criminals go.

After the trial was concluded I was summoned to the Courtroom with Fluttershy and her family. Celestia had to put custody of me to Fluttershys family. I was also ordered to go to a 1-3 years of counseling for attempted suicide. Fluttershy was ordered to monitor me at all times to see if I try to kill myself, Celestia said it was kinda like a suicide watch but not in a hospital. I for one and my now ex-father were forbidden to see each other. My ex-father was forbidden to request a visit for me to see him. I am glad its now over and I finally can sleep without fear. Fluttershy did the right thing by keeping the promise she made. She never broke the promise to Reveal to the Cloudsdale police about the whole thing that was happening.

During the reading Rainbow requested the spell to be lifted. The spell was lifted and she saw the look on their friends faces. They were reading the Journal. "F..F..Flutershy you were involved?" Applejack said.

"Yes."

Rarity was shocked. Fluttershy was requested to watch over Rainbow to make sure she didn't kill herself. "Rainbow darling, how long have you been hiding this?"

"Many years. I didn't want anypony, i'll repeat, anypony to know about my past."

Twilight saw sadness in her marefriends eyes. She couldn't help but feel sorry for her. She extended her wing and pulled Rainbow her side, and gave a nuzzle, and planted a kiss on her cheek. Time went on and they had fun at the picnic. at the end Twilight and Rainbow headed towards the library. Together they knew this was the beginning of something new for them and their relationship.
