Wish Upon a Falling Star

The next morning greeted me with a sight I won’t soon forget. There. Centimeters from my face, is a bright-pink pony staring at me with the widest grin I have ever seen, ANYWHERE.

“HIIMPINKIEPIE, IHAVENTSEENYOUBEFORESOTHATMEANSYOU'RENEW!” Ow! My ears!

“Uh, hi? Pinkie Pie? Why are you staring at me like that?”

“Well, I was watching you sleep. I was waiting until you woke up so I could invite you to your surprise party!” She holds out a pink piece of paper to me, I grab it and set it on my lap.

“You DO know what a surprise party is right? You aren’t supposed to tell the person that the party is for, that there is a surprise party for them?”

“Well of course silly! But how else was I going to get you to go to the party?”

I thought about it for a moment. “Eh, I guess you’re right. But still though!”

The door opens and a white unicorn walks in. “Pinkie pie, stop traumatizing the poor thing!” a blue glow surrounds pinkie and she floats away. The white unicorn turns to me. “Don’t mind her, I don’t think she knows what you went through. Floating through space alone, I can’t even begin to imagine what that was like for you”

“Well, I was frozen solid for the entire trip so I wasn’t there for any of it. I could’ve been in that thing for years and I wouldn’t know it.”

She ponders this for a moment. “Yeah, I guess that would be a bit of a bonus. My name is Rarity, what is your name? Also, what are you? No offense”

“My name is Gage. I am a Human, and no offense taken.”

Before she could say any more, a bright light filled the room I turned my head to avoid the bright light. After the light dies, I hear rarity start to stammer. “P-princess C-celestia!”

A soft voice answers her. “No need for formalities Rarity, I’ve come to speak with this one here.”

I get the feeling she was talking to me. I turn my head to look at her. I remain speechless for a few moments before the door opens revealing the other 5 of the mane six. They all walk in wearing a necklace that strangely represents the tattoo on their flank in some way. Applejack had a necklace shaped like an apple, rainbow dash had one that looked like a lightning bolt. Fluttershy had one that looked like a butterfly. Twilight had a crown on her head. There was a purple-ish colored star on the top of the crown. Pinkie pie was also wearing one but she was hopping up and down really fast so I couldn’t get a good look at what shape her necklace is in. twilight levitated a necklace that looked like a diamond over to rarity’s neck.

“if anything happens we will be here to help you” Twilight glared at me with murder in her eyes. A look that scared me.

Princess Celestia turns to her student. “I doubt there will be a need for the elements, dearest twilight. I can sense good in his heart.”

Suddenly I was In the spotlight again, all 7 ponies in the room stared at me waiting for my response.

“I, uh, have no intention of hurting anyone.” I swallowed, hoping it was an answer they were wanting.

Rainbow Dash flies over to me and gives me an evil glare. “He might be lying! He might strike while our backs are turned!”

Celestia smiles. “No Miss Rainbow Dash, I sense good in his heart. I believe he will be an ally rather than a foe.”

Obviously trusting their princess they all took off their necklaces. Spike runs over, holding a box that looks too heavy for him. All 6 of the ponies place their necklaces inside the box and spike runs the box back upstairs.

‘dang, that must give him a lot of exercise for him to be able to do that.’

Twilight follows spike upstairs and the rest of the ponies leave except for Celestia and Rainbow Dash.

“And so that’s what happened, or at least from what I can remember about what happened”

Celestia nods understandingly. “It is strange for why my sister would do that, but maybe she had an intention that she did not discuss with me. I must return to Canterlot and talk to her about what you told me.”

As she left, Rainbow Dash was still in the room. She walked closer to me. “If you are here for good as she says, you’d better live up to that. Make any wrong moves and I’ll buck you to the moon”

I nodded in understanding. As Rainbow Dash turned to leave, I lay back on the big pillow that twilight was kind enough to provide for me. “Why would Princess Luna go all the way to earth to send me here?” I wondered out loud.

The door closed and I was alone… I repeat the same question several times before I hear a noise coming from the stairs leading presumably into the upper levels of the tree. After a few seconds I start to see spike walking down the stairs. He walked up to me. “Hello human. Do you mind if I keep you company?”

I shrugged. “Nope, you can stay here if you want”

“Cool.” He jumps op onto the bed so I can see him better. “I’m curious about you, hum-“

“Gage is fine.” I cut him off.

“I’m curious about you, Gage. Where did you come from? Why did Princess Luna send you all the way here?”

“I can answer the first but not the second. I come from a planet called Earth. It is located in the Milky Way galaxy. My world isn’t all that special. But it is definitely far more advanced in technology that the ponies of this world are. I’m not talking about magic. Magic alone beats us by at least several million years.”

“Wow, so the planet you come from lacks magic?” I nod. “That must suck”

“Well, we’ve lived without it for as long as human beings have existed. Although having it would be really nice, we’ve never needed it to the point of ‘we need magic now or else our entire species will die’ so I don’t think we’ll need it”

“Hmm.” He thinks it over. “Yeah, I guess. I’m still quite interested in learning from you about your world.”

“Yeah, I think I’m going to get some more rest. I think I’ll be good enough to walk tomorrow if my legs will hold up. And that’s a major ‘IF’ about whether or not it’ll hold up.”

“Alright well, I’m going to see if Twilight needs my help with anything. See you around!”

“C ya spike!” I lay back again and I close my eyes and fall asleep.

The dreams I had that night were of my parents. They were sitting on a bench overlooking the vast Pacific Ocean. They were smiling happily. I could see myself and my sister both waiting by the car to go down to the beach to go swimming. Nothing eventful happened in this dream. But remembering my parents made me sad, knowing my chances of seeing them again are very small. I say that because in a world with magic, anything should be possible? Right?

I’ll have to think on this for a while.

If my parents could come here they would never want to go home to earth. Despite the fact I am currently sleeping inside of a giant tree.
