Legion's Plague
Of All The--!
Previous ChapterNext ChapterThe dragon roared once more, this time nearly sending Wing rushing head-first into the cavern. Its massive, hole-riddled wings didn't really help the situation. If anything, it was as if the winds created by these wings would topple all of Ponyville--if its claws didn't do so first. At once, it began to attempt to fly away towards the aforementioned town...only for lightning to dance around both zombragon and the party in such a way the graveyard's heart quickly became a closed arena. The behemoth turned right back to the party and let off another roar.
Kaleb had his hands raised in the air the entire time. Sparks the same color as the gold lightning-cage flickered and swirled around his hands. "Zeus has decreed that this monstrosity never be unleashed into the world!"
Alexis rolled her eyes and groaned. She raised her Scythe before hitting its foot onto the ground. Now emerging from behind her were two skeletons. One was humanoid and stood a head taller than she, and he began laughing like a maniac as armor made from pure tainted light formed onto his arms, ribcage, and legs. The other, a giant wolf-like skeleton, howled and snarled as this same armor encased his legs and upper quarters, but the difference here was that this armor made this skele-wolf have portions of fur and flesh.
"Do not tamper with the dead!" Kaleb ordered, giving Alexis the stink-eye.
"Well, ex-cuuuuse me!" Alexis snarled in response, "I thought Hades made me an exception to that rule!"
Kaleb would've face-palmed had he not been making the barrier. Instead, all he did was shake his head and grumble about Hades doing something. Nobody could comprehend what he meant other than the fact that it had to do with the God of the Underworld; or, if you were Lazarus, Hell.
"Can't we just quit fighting for ONE FUCKING SECOND before Zeus kills us all?!" Lazarus shrieked as he readied his e-Bay cannon and began charging the PETA Flare*, a beam that could destroy entire battlefields once at full power capacity.
Both monster-slayer and necromancer sighed in utter annoyance. Neither dared look at each other nor the God of the Winds.
The zombragon roared once more, this time its gold-glowing eye sockets focused on Alexis. The monstrosity seemed to be offended by her very presence, as if she had no place in the world at all. Its sockets stopped glowing for an unknown cause.
Jaden slashed his sword in the air a few times. "So this is the Devil's Sunrise." He murmured before looking at the zombragon who was focused entirely on Alexis for some reason. A smirk crossed his lips and then a huge load of confidence suddenly became evident on his face. He slashed the air again. His smile widened. "HELL. YES," was all he said before letting off a battle cry whilst rushing towards the behemoth in such a burst of speed the beast didn't have time to react as an entire claw was severed in one deft twist of the sword.
"What the fuck is he doing?!" Lazarus yelled, his PETA Flare almost done charging. His body and cannon were shaking tremendously as a result.
The claw got up and stood as if it had obtained it's own free will. It flicked Jaden backwards with the middle finger, and the young swordsman was sent back so far his heel was an inch away from the barrier. Crouching on two feet and one hand and with a sword in the other hand, Jaden didn't seem to wince in pain, though recoil from shock was evident. Another smile, though faint, crept on his lips. The claw then re-attached itself to where the arm and hand would meet at the wrist.
"Looks like someone took after dad's cockiness!" Amelia commented with a hearty smile as she plucked the guitar's strings. A satisfying sound hit her ears. Now, how was she going to use this damn thing to fight?
"Nah! That's just a vicious rumor!" Jaden called back with a widening cocky grin as he stood straight up and held out his unoccupied hand, which was encased in another crimson glow. A jagged sword that was blood crimson from hilt to blade's edge soon appeared, and he took its hilt.
"Where and from whom did you get such cursed weaponry?!" Kaleb bellowed, a disapproving frown on his face.
"Dad. I do not know where he got them." Jaden answered, his cocky grin unwavering even as the zombragon roared again, this time at him as if to say "I will repay you for severing my claw." Jaden laughed the supposed threat the beast threw at him.
"Hermes never ceases to amaze me, even now." Kaleb said, looking to the sky and shaking his head disapprovingly.
A stray lightning bolt nearly hit Wing, which caused her to land on her ass and yelp in surprise. "Control that shit!" She yelled at Kaleb with a snarl.
Alexis created another runic circle, and from it she produced several small people made of strings. There were at least ten of them and they floated to her hand as they unwound and formed another shape altogether. Weaving and tangling; knit one, furl two; all the things having to do with knitting ran through her head over and over as her work was soon completed before her.
It was in the exact image of the zombragon.
"Confound it all!" Kaleb suddenly shouted as he knelt down onto the ground, his God-blessed force-field suddenly giving out. The zombragon saw this; the zombragon knew what this meant. And yet, miraculously--or perhaps, unfortunately--the zombragon didn't seize the opportunity right then and there. Instead, it roared and landed on its hind legs, then stood up to a towering height of some twenty-four feet. Another piercing roar that tore the skies asunder and shook the ground soon escaped its hollow throat. Its empty eye sockets were glowing with an azure aura and with holed wings spread wide, its maw opened wider and another glow formed between the jaws.
Alexis didn't move; the voodoo doll floating between her hands. A smile etched on her lips.
"You! Why are you standing there?!" Kaleb shouted, pointing accusingly at Alexis.
Alexis didn't answer. Instead, she nodded.
Lazarus' cannon suddenly gave out--as in, it stopped charging the PETA Flare altogether and didn't work afterwards. "FUCK!" He shouted angrily, unable to comprehend what was happening.
Lancelot looked at the necromancer, unable to register what exactly she was doing.
The glow between the zombragon's jaws grew brighter as it suddenly threw its head upwards and then back down to fire a beam that would, could, and should end the party right then and there.
Alexis threw the voodoo doll into the destructive beam the split second it aimed at them. The beam stopped and then....redirected itself towards the behemoth, who was now encased in a bright azure glow. It roared and thrashed about with massive wings creating nigh-inescapable gusts of wind. The beam being fired back at it grew larger as the voodoo doll itself was expelling the magical mass of wicked, arcane energy from its tiny body.
Everyone watched in morbid fascination; hands and weaponry dropping alongside jaws in pure, utter shock. The zombragon was now nothing short of a pile of ashes whose mass was racing towards Alexis with blindingly speedy fury. The necromancer held a jar just for the ashes as they were sucked in and sealed forevermore from the use of hands and hooves other than those of her own.
The little jar's lid snapped shut, and another grin crept on Alexis' face.
"It worked." She said ominously, her eyes flashing red for a mere second.
