elemental journey

*some dialogue will be in French but most of them will be unimportant to the story*

I was putting down on paper some of the creatures and characters that I had created earlier in my mind when it happened. I heard an explosion on the floor under and a ball of fire engulfed everything.

Let me tell you a little about myself while I was floating in the void. I am a 19 years old student in programming and I have a tendency to think about adventure and such when I am bored. I wanted something to happen in my life that would be different: discovering magic, getting transformed into something or someone else, living eternally (different from immortality in which you cannot die) or getting transported into another universe. I also love to learn from biology to nanotechnologies and astronomy, I read everything about everything. I was also making a bestiary made of creatures I created and my theories on magic. So going back to the matter at hand, I was aimlessly floating through the void waiting for something to happen when there was a flash of light. A voice also spoke to me:” You have been given another chance. However, you will have to choose a new body and you will be sent to another world.”

I thought about my last creation, the elemental watcher. The light became blinding and I felt myself lose consciousness again.

I woke up in murky water: “Great, I’m in a swamp.” I thought. I checked to see if I was alright. I had no injury but I was now taller, my hair had turned silver, fur covered all my body except my arms which were covered in dragon scales and I had wings. My leg seemed to be a mix between a cat and humans leg and I had the face of a wolf. I also had a Vaporeon tail It seemed to me that I became an elemental watcher, a creature I made myself. To be sure I tested if I had their power. Elementals watchers are the embodiment of every element and have moderate control over them. I tried to move the water and a water droplet rose into the air. I had fun with my powers for a while until I decided that it would be best if I started to see if there was anyone around. I walked around in hope of leaving the swamp when a hydra ambushed me. I blocked two head with my arms but the third one bit my leg. I lit the fur that covered my leg on fire which burned the jaw of the hydra and freed me at the cost of some burning fur. I launched some hot rock pellet at my foe but it only angered him further. Finally, I froze water on my arm to make a blade and cut the three head, not forgetting to cauterize the neck to prevent more heads from growing. Treading more carefully after this accident I finally stepped out of the swamp into a forest. I searched for some food because I was starting to become hungry and I found some berry and roots which I ate in an instant. It was becoming dark and I decided to set up camp. I made a bed with some leaves and I use my control over fire to light a campfire. The moment I laid on my bed I fell asleep.

The morning after, I woke up and prepared to leave by destroying my bed and campfire. To be honest, while I was a bit freaked out by the events, I was mostly happy because I always wanted for something like that to happen to me. But then I thought about what the voice said and I realized three things:

1. I was in another dimension

2. I couldn’t go back

3. I was considered dead back on Earth.

After those fact set in I cried a bit at the thought of my family and how I would miss them. After this little episode, I walked for an hour before noticing that the landscape was becoming drier. I continued for a bit before reaching a town by the name of Dodge Junction.

The town resembled those depicted in far west movies and I quickly found a train station. The train was full of talking colorful small horses with tattoo on their flank. I thought about a show that I heard about back on earth called My Little Ponies: Friendship is Magic. So I knew where I was and I was lucky because I had made some research about the world of MLP a week before I “died” and got transported to this world. I thought about my next steps and after much thought decided that it would be best to collect information, find a normal job and meet princess Celestia to prevent any misunderstanding. I found a job at a cherry farm where my power over water were very useful for watering the trees and I discovered that I was at least a thousand and a half years earlier than the start of the show. Other information that I collected included that the currency was bits, that Luna wasn’t imprisoned yet and that Canterlot was already the capital of Equestria even though the castle of the twin sister was still in use. After a month of working at the farm I stopped getting scared glances from the townspeople. After a few more months, I had enough bits to take the train and still have enough left so that I wouldn’t starve. I headed to the train station and bought my ticket in first class because I could and it would be funny to see the face of the nobles that are assured to be in first class. Thanking the station clerk, I waited for my train to arrive and watched passerby to pass the time. The train arrived and I proceeded to embark and head to my cabin. Well train wasn't really the right word because it was pulled by at least a dozen earth pony.

After I entered my cabin, I heard some shouting behind my door and went to see what the fuss was about. A white male unicorn was shouting at an employee: “What do you mean my cabin is occupied? I am a noble! This is preposterous!”

Of course I intervened because my instinct told me that the cabin he was talking about was most likely mine. “Well what would the problem be my good sir?” I asked with a slightly exaggerated British accent.

He prepared to reply with what was probably a rant about the fact that he was a noble and such but whatever he had to say was replaced by a shriek of terror and he ran away. I told the employee to tell me if he did any more problems and I headed back to my cabin. After a rather uneventful trip beside the noble accident, I finally saw the light of Canterlot in the distance.
