Deep in the Nether World, Lord Betrayus sat in his throne room, infuriated that, once again, his plans to take over Pac-opolis had failed miserably. “Grrr! No matter what I try, that little Pac pest manages to thwart my plans!! I’ve just about had it! Day after day, my ghost army returns as eyeballs! I can’t take it anymore! I don’t want Pac-opolis anymore! I give up!” he announced.
Next to him, his genius yet dim-witted henchman, Professor Heiny, immediately turned to face Betrayus in surprise. “Sir? You’re...giving up? That’s rather unlike you! The Lord Betrayus I know and ha-er love would stop at nothing to take over Pac-opolis.”
Betrayus crossed his arms and got up. “Well Butt-head...That Lord Betrayus is long gone. I’ve lost all hope. I just can’t win. One way or another, The Pac-Man always seems to make my plans backfire.” he explained.
Suddenly, the TV monitor in front of the two ghosts cut to static before showing an image of an ominous, dark, dreadful looking forest.
Suddenly, a large ghostly mare appeared on screen, facing in the direction of Betrayus. “You! Lord Betrayus! After so many unforgiving centuries, I’m finally free! And I have a message for YOU Betrayus!” spoke the apparition.
Lord Betrayus frowned, a look of confusion upon his face. “Who might you be? You look...familiar somehow. And where in the world are you? What do you mean by ‘finally free?’” he questioned.
The phantom introduced herself. “So you have forgotten. Predictable! I am Spectrivious. I am communicating with you from another dimension known as Equestria. Long ago, I was banished to this wretched forest but now that the planets are perfectly aligned, I am free once again! I couldn’t help but overhear that you no longer want Pac-opolis? Well Lord Betrayus, how about I make you a deal?” she asked
Lord Betrayus had full attention now. “OOH! A deal?? What kind of a deal? I’m all ears!” he assured.
Spectrivious grinned. “Excelent! You see Lord Betrayus, during my imprisonment, I’ve been planning my revenge and now that I’m free, The time to strike is now but I will need YOUR help to reclaim my place as dictator. I’ll prepare a portal for you and your ghost army to come through and begin your attack as soon as I can. Until then...round up that army of yours! Our victory is imminent! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!”
As Betrayus and Spectrivous were discussing their plans for domination, Pinky, Inky, Blinky, and Clyde were behind the door, listening.
“Spectrivious...does that ring a bell to any of you?” asked the blue ghost.
The rest of the ghost pondered for a minute before nodding.
Blinky frowned. “Err...Should we be concerned? Betrayus is planning to attack again. Only he’s not after Pac World this time.”
Clyde smiled. “I’ve never been to another dimension before! This could be a good thing! Besides, it doesn’t really matter if it’s someone elses world...right?”
Pinky sighed. “I don’t know about the rest of you, but I’m going to warn Pac. I don’t like the looks of this other dimension stuff.” she said before zipping off to Pac World. The other ghosts shrugged before following.
On the surface world, Pac-opolis was thriving with activity and busy as ever. Except for a certain yellow hero who was stuck in school.
“Ugh...how much longer until school ends? I’m starving!” he complained.
The teacher up front frowned and turned back to face Pac-Man with an annoyed look on his face. “Pac-Man! Unless it’s important, please remain silent until I’m done!” he warned.
Pac sighed. “Right. I’m sorry. Won’t happen again.” he assured.
The teacher nodded before resuming his lesson.
The yellow teenager rolled his eyes before slumping his...er...body against the desk and closing his eyes. He dozed off for a bit before being woken up by sudden chill in the air. He looked around to see the classroom abandoned except for the four ghosts who were now floating in front of him.
“Huh?? Oh hey guys! What happened? Where’d everybody go?” he asked, confused.
Blinky frowned. “Well...We’re here so I think you can guess.”
Pinky floated forward. “That’s not important right now! What IS important is that we tell you about what Betrayus is up to! We heard him talking with another ghost from some other world saying she’s gonna open a portal so Betrayus and his ghost army can go through and take over!”
Inky nodded. “He’s not going after Pac World anymore. He wants another world that’s more vulnerable for an attack. And apparently, he’s already found it.”
“If you’re gonna try to stop him again, you should probably hurry cause that portal will be ready soon.” Clyde added.
Pac-Man blinked before signaling for them to stop. “Wait just a second! Let me get this straight. So...Betrayus is tired of me stopping him so now he’s going after some other world that’s more weaker and now he’s readying his ghost army for this portal to open so they can go through and invade?” he asked.
The 4 ghosts nodded.
Pac-Man smiled. “Well it’s better than being in school all day! Just let me stock up on Power Berries and I’ll be good to go!” he exclaimed before rushing out of the classroom and to his locker.
Back in the Nether World, Betrayus was finishing accounting for all his ghostly minions when a sudden rip in the time-space continuum caused a rather large portal to open in the middle of the Nether World.
“Ah! At long last! The portal is finally ready! The time to strike has come!”
Lord Betrayus stared at the portal in joy before turning back to his idle ghostly army. “My loyal ghostly minions! The time has finally come. Let’s go and slime! Now go! Attack! Invade! Slime! HAHAHAHAHA!” he ordered.
The ghosts followed the command and flew through the portal before emerging right in the middle of Ponyville and beginning their attack on the inhabitants. Screams of terror echoed throughout the streets accompanied by fierce, horrific, and blood-curdling shrieks from the ghostly attackers. Standard ghosts laughed as they brushed themselves against a group of teenage mares that were expecting a casual day of hanging out. The cold chill and odd odors from the ghosts struck them as they were instantly covered with sticky, goopy, and yucky ectoplasm. The ponies screamed in horror and disgust as the ghosts that had slimed them laughed before flying off to find others to slime.
Pac-Man and the 4 ghosts arrived just in time to see the last few members of Betrayus’ army as well as the head ghost himself fly through the portal. Pac-Man quickly gathered his courage and jumped in with the 4 ghosts following right behind him. After landing on top of the fountain, he looked around in surprise and confusion.
“What the? Are those...ponies?? Doesn’t matter! Betrayus isn’t winning anytime soon! Time to send these ghosts Pac-king!” he exclaimed before pulling out his trusty berry dispenser and launching a standard berry as well as Titanium berry into his mouth and gobbling them down. The standard berry would power him up and the Titanium Berry had transformed Pacs body into living magnetic steel!
He took to the air let his magnetized tongue fly, pulling in dozens of ghosts before devouring them, belching out their eyeballs. Pac-Man continued on, gobbling up ghosts by the mouthful. Literally!
Twilight Sparkle noticed a mysterious blur zooming by and decided to use a slow motion spell. Everything around the alicorn slowed down except for herself of course. She glanced around and eventually caught sight of the mysterious speedster; Pac-Man.
“What the?” she exclaimed.
Pac-Man munched, chomped, slurped, scarfed, and devoured thousands of ghosts by the minute! Even when the Titanium power-up had worn off, Pac was still going, stuffing his mouth with ghosts.
Lord Betrayus noticed the yellow glutton and went wide-eyed. “PAC-MAN?! BUT HOW?! GRAAAAHHHH!! Ghost army! Retreat! Fall back NOW!! We’ll be back soon!” he shouted before zooming into the Everfree Forest along with his remaining minions.
Pac-Man had won and Ponyville was safe...for now.
