Chp 01: Welcome to Hallow Shades

Previous Chapter

It was a cold winters night and I had just got off a train from Neighagra Falls well to be honest I was more or less thrown off, anyway once I got my barrings I noticed a sign that had three directions

Canterlot 50 miles west

ManeHatten 75 miles east

Hallow Shades 10 miles south

Considering my options I chose to head south for Hallow Shades and I'd catch the train heading for Baltimare in the morning. I used my magic to tighten the rope that secured the cloche to my body and I began to trudged through to snow and in to the forest that surrounded the small village, It was beautiful the way the icicles dangled from the branches and the way the snow lied peacefully over the ground, the best best part was that any and or all creatures were in hibernation, so there was no sign of danger.

Once I entered the sleepy little town I automatically noticed that almost all lights in the buildings were off, all except one a small two story inn call "Sleepy Hallow". I entered the small building and was greeted by a mare Pegasus with a red coat, a blond mane and a book for a cutie mark.

"Hello wanderer, what brings you to the Sleepy Hallow Inn?" She said while guiding me to the front desk

"I'd like a room, I thought that was obvious?"

She then pulled out a leather book and told me to sign my name.

"Shade Nightworth aye, I'm Pentress Roberson." she extending a hoof, but i just brushed it off "Fine Mister Serious here`s your key, your in room nine."

"Thank you Miss overly Quirky." I then levitated the key out of her hoof

Once reaching my room, I pushed open the door to my room, I sat my saddlebags on the floor and flipped the latch, releasing my pet phoenix Daisy. She began to spread her wings (lighting up the room while doing so), I materialized her nest and placed it on the night stand. Once Daisy's nest situation was done, I automatically went over to the bed and fell into a deep sleep as I curled up in the warm embrace of the blanket.
