Note that the series takes place after Equestria Girls. A New Home: A 5-year old boy named Toby Mason loses his mother, Ashley Mason, due to her car crashing into a ditch while on her way to pick him up from school. For the next year his father, James Mason, physically and verbally abuses him telling Toby that Ashley died because of him. A few days after his 6th birthday Toby wishes on the moon for a family that would love him then falls asleep in his bed. In Equestria Fluttershy wishes on the moon for a young filly o colt to take care of as an older sister or mother to since her friends have someone to take care of like that then proceeds to fall asleep. Princess Luna hears both wishes and decides to grant them so she uses her magic to put Toby at the border of the Everfree forest by Fluttershy’s house. The next morning Asshole err I mean Angel finds Toby, let’s Fluttershy know and the two of them bring him inside. What follows is he meets the rest of the main six, Celestia and Luna. That is followed by a massive Welcome to Equestria in the castle from guess who. During the party Fluttershy asks Luna if they could go into Toby’s dreams to see why he is more timid then she is. Later that night the girls and Luna enter some of Toby’s most important memories. The first three show how much Toby and Ashley love each other while the last one show us Toby’s last night on Earth in more detail. After that the story goes on to have Fluttershy adopting Toby, Diamond and Silver realizing that their jerks and asking the CMC and Toby for their forgiveness, and Toby spending a day with Pinkie, Rainbow, Rarity, and Applejack. The only major things in each chapter is that Scootaloo starts flying, Rarity and Toby tells the diamond dogs to leave them alone, Big Mac becomes a father figure to Toby, and Pinkie’s pinkie sense starts acting up. Twilight receives a letter From Celestia saying that Luna heard the dreams of James and decided to bring him to Equestria and wants Toby to be brought up to Canterlot with all of those that are like family to him to support him. Once there they look into James’s memories and find out that James caused Ashley to crash into the ditch. James is brought up and everypony says their opinion of him. After each says what they want to do to him Toby forgives him and wants him to go back to Earth. With the…help of Discord James is sent back, Twilight and Toby have a heartwarming moment and then the story ends. Life In Equestria: Holidays with Toby: Mainly just several Equestria holidays with Toby including Hearts and Hooves day where he gets Silver Spoon as a filly/girlfriend A New Home 2: A Queen’s Revenge: Chrysalis kidnaps Toby and uses his love for his family to conquer Equestria but she is defeated by the mane 6, Discord, Tia, Luna, Kevin (Shutterguy22’s OC), Nikoli and Riley. (Midnighshadow1’s OCs) A Silver Engagement: Silver Spoon and Toby’s First Date. A New Home 3: The Quest of the Lost Locket: Toby’s prized locket containing a picture of him and Ashley accidentally goes though the mirror that Twilight used in the Equestria Girls movie and he follows it to get it back. Due to some magic mumbo jumbo he can’t go back for 30 days. Shit happens on both sides. Now a little side thing for this story: During A New Home 2 I posted a comment with a picture. The picture was of Zeus from the new Clash of the Titans with the caption "Release the Kraken". Since then I have made a Release the Kraken comment on all chapters deemed necessary that APoeticHeart posted in his stories after that. When A New Home 3 was a few chapters in the kraken was a running joke applied to me and he was named Squishy by me because why not and I was thinking of Finding Nemo at the time for some reason. So there is the backstory of Squishy.

There isn’t…you have no idea of what is going on do you? Sorry about that never had to explain dying before. Never died before either. Anyway the names Billy Dunn. I’m an 18, almost 19, year old brony living in New Jersey. I’m 5 foot 9 with brown hair blue eyes white skin and glasses. I’m not going to lie; I’m not a popular kid. I mean I’m no team captain; I’m just a nerd who isn’t very social and likes MLP. I also happen to be a little fat. I happen to be at Saint Thomas Aquinas College in Sparkill New York. The college is weird where the dorms and actual campus is separated by a road. So I was heading to my History class in the morning wearing shorts (crazy since it’s winter but I don’t have anything longer that fits), grey sneakers, a yellow shirt with a picture of Fluttershy (best pony) hugging a small boy wearing jeans, a red sweatshirt and glasses, and a black coat. While I was crossing the street a car on my right comes speeding down the road. It was going at least 70 miles an hour maybe 75. (Note: road not highway.) I unfortunately wasn’t able to get out of the way of the car and was hit by it. The bad news is that I died as soon as the car hit me. The good (?) news is that the car drove right into a telephone pole and the driver died on impact. If you’re wondering how I know it’s really simple, it’s a dead person thing, we see what happens to our killer a few seconds after we die. So a white light (cliché I know) blinds me and when my vision returns I see nothing but the tops of clouds and three figures in the distance. As I get closer I see that one is a human, one is an alicorn, and the third is obviously the devil. The human was a beautiful woman with flowing blonde hair, and baby blue eyes and had a white dress, pearl white feathery wings which was folded in, and a golden halo that I recognized as Ashley Mason from A New Home. The alicorn had a red mane and a quill and inkwell cutie mark that I recognized as Faust. The devil was about my height, had a red upper body, two large horns on his forehead, and goat legs. “Um hello.” “Ah Mr. Dunn,” Faust said in a calm motherly tone, “We have been expecting you.” “You have?” I replied nervously. “Yes, we have an important task for you,” said the Devil in a voice that reminded me way too much of a mix of Jyggalag and Sheogorath from the Shivering Isles expansion of Oblivion. “Let me guess it involves Toby Mason,” I stated with a deadpan expression. “How did you know?” “Ashley’s here so it kind of makes sense.” “Oh.” Faust replied. “And before you ask yes I will do it.” “Why such a quick decision?” Ashley asked curiously. “Well…your son happens to be the main character of a fan fiction series I like and I think it would be great to meet him in person. Plus he has had too much pain already in his life and I want to make sure he does not receive much more.” “How…noble of you,” said the devil in a slightly mocking tone. “Now I get why Ashley and Faust are concerned about the kid but why you? From what I know of you, you would not really do or care about something like this.” I said raising an eyebrow. “It’s not him I’m worried about. It’s more of where the danger is coming from.” “And that danger is?” “His father.” “What.” “You heard me.” “How?” “Remember the car that killed you?” “What about it?” “Guess who was driving it.” “Still doesn’t explain how he got into Equestria.” “That I don’t know but we do have a few things to help you” he says while rubbing his temples. “What things?” “Well I’m going to be helping you and you get this amulet.” Ashley says as she hands me an amulet that looked like a buff man with horns pointed forward, and tentacles. “What does it do?” I ask. “Allows you to summon a kraken.” Should’ve guessed that. Hello? “Wait who said that?” I did. “Who are you and where are you?” I don’t know where I am but it’s me Squishy. Btw you can talk to me using your thoughts. Cool…wait Squishy!? Yep. But I just made you up as a running joke for my comments in the A New Home series. Well the series exists. …Touché “Having fun?” Faust asks. “Oh um kind of seeing how I just found out my pet kraken, favorite fan fiction series and the world I always wanted to go to actually exists.” I reply. I jump as a loud cracking sound emits from behind me. I turn around to see a door. “To get to Equestria you must first go through The Door.” Says Faust. “The Door?” “Th-The Door.” Said the Devil “What is The Door?” “The Door is everything.” started Faust “All that once was and all that will be.” continued the Devil “The Door controls Time and Space, Love and Death.” “The Door can see into your mind!” “The Door can see into your soul!” “Really? The Door can do all that?” I ask. “Heh no.” “I hate the both of you.” “We know” they state smiling. I sigh while face palming. “You ready to see Toby again?” I ask Ashley as I turn to her. “Yes lets go,” she says with a serious face. “I want to protect my baby boy from that monster of a father.” “So do I Ashley, so do I.” We head to The Door when I turn back and ask Faust. “How do I summon Squishy with this thing?” “Just tell him to come and he shall, even when there is no water near.” “How does that work?” “Magic.” “That figures, well thanks for this and I won’t let you down.” “I know you won’t.” I turn and enter The Door and get blinded for a second time in a short while.

Ashley was smiling and I knew it was because she could see her son again. I guess she and Fluttershy would work out living arrangements. We start heading to town and I know it is a matter of time before a certain pink mare would find us. “So where do we begin looking for Toby?” Ashley asks breaking the silence. “Well I would guess Fluttershy’s house but he might not be there at the moment.” I reply. “Why not?” “Well he could be in school, out with his friends, on a date with his fillyfriend, or kidnapped again.” “What’s a fillyfriend?” Oh yeah she doesn’t know the terminology. “It’s the same thing as a girlfriend.” “Oh ok. Wait HE HAS A GIRLFRIEND AND WHAT DO YOU MEAN KIDNAPPED AGAIN!” Oops. Your screwed dude. Shut up Squishy. “Um well a year after he came to Equestria he was kidnapped by an evil mare named Chrysalis who is queen of the changelings, bug like ponies that feed of love, in an attempt to take over Equestria. Don’t worry he was saved by the girls and she’s in hell. As for his fillyfriend, remember that filly Silver Spoon?” She nods with an expression that probably could kill me. “Well the two of them have had a crush on each other for a while and after his rescue they went on a date and have been dating ever since.” I smile hoping that would calm her down. Thankfully she did. “Well thankfully he’s okay, and I’m glad he’s with someone, I mean, somepony who he loves and love him.” “Yeah.” I turn to my right and see the one thing I have been waiting for. The queen of parties, Pinkie pie. “Hi Ashley funny seeing you here and who’s this. Is he you coltfriend,” Ashley and Me blush at this, “Hey you know what we need? A PARTY!” “Pinkie um you know what yeah a party would probably be a good idea.” I say motioning for her to lead us to Sugercube corner. “Oh Ashley one thing.” “Yes?” “Don’t question Pinkie. Your head will hurt less.” “Why would I question Pinkie?” “Just trust me on this.” I said as we arrive at our destination. I look inside and see the lights off and that Pinkie isn’t with us. “Ashley this is one of those moments where you don’t question Pinkie.” “OK if you say so.” We open the door and… “SURPIRSE!” Somehow Pinkie got the entire Ponyville into Sugercube corner before we got there. “How did she” “It’s Pinkie.” “But” “Ashley, its Pinkie don’t question it.” “…Ok.” “Mommy?” We turn to see Toby slowly walking toward us “Is that really you?” “Yes Toby. Its me.” He runs forward and they embrace in a big hug with everypony and me dawing at the sight. “Um well ah I guess everypony knows who she is. My name is Billy and I’m just a friend of Ashley’s and” “You know who we are because you are a fan of the show My Little Pony that we are characters of and Toby and Ashley are characters of a fan fiction series that you like and both you and Ashley have been sent to protect my cute little nephew from any evil that we thought we beat” Pinkie finished with a squee. “Um yeah that’s uh right.” “How does she...?” Ashley started. “Ashley what did I say?” “It’s Pinkie, don’t question it?” “Yeah.” There is a bright flash and Princess Celestia and the beautiful Princess Luna appear before us. I guess Twilight sent them a letter during our little exchange. “Ashley, it is good to see you again and Billy it is good to meet you. We do not know what the danger is but…” “Its James” She, Luna, Toby and the element bearers gasp. “Yeah I know.” “But how did he come back?” Celestia asks. “We don’t know all we do know is that he is back and that Ashley and I have to help you defeat him.” “Ok let us go somewhere more secluded to talk about this.” She charges a spell and teleports the eleven of us to Canterlot castle. “So how do you know its James, if you don’t mind me asking.” Fluttershy asks adorably hiding behind her mane. “Yeah ah was wondering that too.” Applejack says nodding. “Ok let me start from the beginning. So I was run over by a motorized carriage driven by James, I’m not sure why he’s out of jail. Anyway I die and go to heaven,” the girls gasp, Toby hugs me, “In heaven Faust and the devil tell me that Ashley and I that James is back in Equestria and after Toby. The two of us have to help all of you to make sure that doesn’t happen.” “I was hoping we were done with that ruffian,” says Rarity with Pinkie nodding like a bobble head. “Well girls we’ll beat him before he does that” Twilight state with everypony agreeing. “We still need to find out how he got here,” Rainbow states as she starts flying a bit. “We will and once we do we’ll make sure that he can’t use it again,” says Luna. Man is she beautiful when she’s determined. “Ok here’s an idea, why don’t the alicorns look for a spell to do that while the rest of us make sure we are ready for James,” I suggest. “Are you sure we can do this Mr. Billy?” Toby asks. “Yes Toby I’m sure, and just call me Billy, Mr. Billy makes me sound old.” “Ok Billy.” We separate to the tasks I suggested.
