Positively Pink

“I guess I kinda have to go to school don’t I? I’ll be missing enough days as It is with this trip, and frankly I could be doing better.” I need to catch up, but that’ll happen after this whole ordeal is over. “I guess that’s a yes, I wonder how people will handle the new me…” I trailed off as I thought on the scenarios.

“OK, well I’ll see ya at school tomorrow,” I heard the phone hang-up so I turned off the speaker. I put away my phone and walked out of the bathroom, walking over to the computer I decided to change some things. I changed my Facebook picture to a new one I took with the computers camera. I put Pinkie as my nickname, people deserved to know who I was and what had happened. “Hello every-pony! As some of you may know, people are turning into ponies! Shocking, right? Well I seem to have been struck with this, and now I am every-ponies favorite mare! the pink party pony herself, Pinkie Pie!” I put as much cheer into it as I could, which wasn’t all that much cause I’m not actually Pinkie Pie. But I managed to put as much cheer as I normally do into it.

I hopped out of my chair and walked over to the couch, it looked like my parents had retired to their room. They probably went back up some time while I was talking to my over enthusiastic friend, that left me alone to do what I wanted. What I wanted happened to be television; it would have been video games, but it would be pretty hard without hands. I turned on the T.V. and watched some cartoons, I stayed like this until lunch time. When lunch time rolled around the only reason I was pulled from the T.V. was because my stomach was growling something fierce.

I got up from my seat and walked into the kitchen, pulling open the fridge I peered inside. There was some pepperoni pizza in there, it was from the same night as the cheese pizza was so It should be fine. I tore open the bag and a peculiar almost sickening smell hit my nose, I figured it was just the smell of  leftover pizza in the fridge. I guess it was that smell, but it wasn’t just a smell; I learned that a little bit too late. I tossed the pizza into my mouth and swallowed, I swallowed all three pieces like the first four I had that morning.

as soon as I swallowed I regretted my decision, I ran towards the bathroom post-haste. I surprisingly didn’t trip up, but I was too preoccupied with losing my lunch in the toilet to dwell on this fact. I stayed there for a while before finally lifting my head out of the toilet, as I looked up I saw my dad standing at the door.

“meat is a no...” I mumbled as I passed him, he walked with me over to the kitchen.

“you all right?” he asked me as I entered the kitchen with him at my side.

“yeah, I just forgot about how I'm a vegetarian in this body...” I muttered loud enough for him to hear. I went back to the fridge, I looked through it and found a head of lettuce. I pulled the lettuce out and as I did so my taste-buds were overwhelmed by the taste of the lettuce. I chomped down on the lettuce and felt the crisp leaves crunch beneath my teeth, the cool leaves felt and tasted good on my tongue. It was like vegetarian heaven as I dined on my lettuce, I shut the door and saw my dad retreat back upstairs.

I finished up my lettuce and turned back to the T.V., my hunger was satiated so I continued to watch nothing. Well, it wasn't actually nothing, but it wasn't anything important. After a while of just sitting there and watching T.V. So I turned it off, my eyes wandered the room searching for something to do. My gaze wandered across the stairs and halted, I might as well try to get to my room I thought heaving myself up from my spot on the couch. I wasn't that coordinated with walking, I still stumbled occasionally, but I was decent enough at it to get around. I'm not entirely sure decent is enough to conquer stairs, but it doesn't seem likely.

I took a wary look at the towering steps before I began my ascent, I moved slowly and methodically up them. I took my time to carefully place each hoof, I had only gotten halfway up when I got a bit too cocky about it. “yeah, I think I'm gett–” I was abruptly cut off by a misplaced hoof. In my over-eagerness I had faltered in my rhythm and as a result I tumbled backwards down the stairs.

“you okay?” my dad was peering down the stairs, he looked at me with a questioning look. His look itself seemed to say the hell did you do?

I got up from the floor, my head hurt a little; it probably wasn't liking falling down the stairs a second time. “I'm just peachy!” I started to ascend the stairs again and dad just retreated back to his room. When I looked up to see how far I had gotten I noticed I was almost there and felt a little overjoyed, a little too overjoyed. My weight shifted and I took another tumble down the stairs, this time dad didn't check on me however. I waited a second for my head to clear before giving the stairs another go.

I had no intentions of giving up, low and behold third time was in fact the charm. At least it is when you're learning to climb up stairs in your new four-hooved body. I soaked in the glory of making it up the stairs for a second, after I was done dwelling on my small victory I headed into my room.

I'll admit it right now, my room is pretty messy. I maneuvered around the dirty clothes on the floor and made it over to my dresser, I should probably clean my room. I was seriously contemplating doing this until I realized I had to get my stuff ready, my room getting cleaned could wait a bit longer.

I looked at my backpack, it was just a regular backpack I used for school. It was a dark black, no other colors could be seen anywhere on the backpack. I looked at the zipper, that was going to be tricky. I leaned down and grabbed the tiny metal zipper in my mouth, it tasted like pennies as I pulled up and opened my bag. I looked in and found all my stuff for school was inside, I don't know what I expected to have happened to it. I looked in with another glance and zipped up the bag.

I attempted to put on the bag, it wasn't difficult. The first thing that struck me was that the bag felt awkward and uncomfortable, but it fit okay. The second thing I noticed was that it felt surprisingly light, before I had turned into a pony it had been pretty heavy. Now that I was much smaller and had less muscle mass it felt really light, almost like a feather. A feather that spread across my back uncomfortably poking into my back at various spots, but you get the point.

I took a few steps around to make sure I was still mobile with the backpack on. It was manageable, so I set it back where I had picked it up. It looks like Pinkies pretty strong for being so small, maybe it's an earth pony thing, I thought to myself. Satisfied with the fact that I am ready for school I turned to my closet. I pulled down another backpack, this one was used for trips or hiking. We seemed to do a lot of both so my school backpack wouldn't exactly fit the job.

okay, now I need to pack for my trip,” I turned back to my dresser and looked at it.do I need clothes?I figured I might as well pack them, so I pulled out a small suitcase from my closet. I threw in a couple random shirts and shorts, I threw in some underwear as well even though I had no intent on wearing it. I put a bunny hug in the suitcase too, never know when it might get cold. What's a bunny hug? Well bunny hugs are hoodies, I called them that because I read it somewhere before and it sounded like a much more fun way of sayinghoodie`. I pulled some socks out and put them in with my shoes; I don't know in what situation I'd need them, but it was good to be prepared. I closed my suitcase and placed it aside, with my clothes all set I turned to my other bag.

I put in a notebook and some pencils, I figured it might help me with my coordination. I can tell you that I need all the help with that I can get. I put in my IPOD and my headphones, I need my music for any long trip. I also threw in a deck of cards in case we needed some entertainment, I didn't know many games with them besides spades. I also put in my good luck charm, it was a special pair of dice that I've had since I was seven. I got these dice from my aunt, when she gave them to me she told me one thing. Now Anthony. I know that things aren't going great for you in school, so I have something for you. These dice were given to me by my husband, your uncle Richard. He gave these dice to me in hopes that they bring me luck and good fortune. He told me that these dice were made with care from a friend of his, and there was nothing luckier than these dice. I thought it was just in his head, but in the time I've had these dice I grew to accept it. I hope you find as much joy in your life as I did with these. I hadn't believed her at first, but it doesn't matter to me anymore. I still accept these dice and love them, it doesn't matter to me if they are or aren't lucky.

I looked around at my stuff, I dashed over and picked up my portable DVD player. I placed it in my bag with the charger. I grabbed the DVD case that went with it, it had all my favorite movies. There were some rom-coms, though to be honest I wasn't a big fan of rom-coms; there were a few that were funny enough to make it into my favorites. There were mostly comedies inside, but there were action movies dotted here and there along with the occasional thriller or rom-com. I set the case inside the bag and grabbed a couple of other chargers I might need; this totaled my chargers to the one for my IPOD, my phone, and the charger that was already in there was the one for the portable DVD player. I couldn't think of anything else I might need so I set the bag aside.

I looked at my bags, I seemed ready for the trip and school tomorrow. I headed out of my room to smell dinner cooking in the kitchen, it smelled like pasta. I carefully made my way down the stairs and into the kitchen, sure enough there was my mom making pasta. “um.. mom? Did you make spaghetti with meat sauce?” I asked her this hesitantly.

“what? Oh, no. I know you can't have meat. I was informed of your little incident earlier,” she strained the water from the noodles.

“yeah, just making sure.” I headed towards the restroom to wash up. I came back to the kitchen to see that there was garlic bread out. “oh, I love garlic bread!” I bounced with excitement over to my seat and began dishing up. The food was delicious, the bread was especially tasty! After dinner I carried my plate over to the sink, placing it on the counter I thought on what I usually did next. I need to take a shower and get ready for bed, I walked over to the bathroom and turned on the shower. I was about to get in when the need to use the toilet finally hit me, I was surprised it hadn't come sooner.

I looked at the toilet and then down at myself, I gave into bodily needs. It had been an experience that was really awkward and made me feel a little uncomfortable. I never wanted to have to do it again, but the chances of it happening again were more than likely. After that I got into the shower and washed up, I used a lot of shampoo just to get all of my fur. Did I mention that hooves make it really difficult to stand in a shower and clean yourself, I eventually sat down and used my other hoof to lather the soap into my pink mane.

I finished up my shower and dried off myself. I retreated back to my room with a yawn, I was worn out. I'm pretty sure that stress makes you more tired, because I was more tired than usual and I had done nothing practically all day. Well nothing and give myself blunt force trauma... and food poisoning... okay maybe I didn't do nothing all day, but that was a major part of my day. As I reached my room I felt it getting harder to keep my eyes open, I plopped down onto my bed and after a few minutes I submitted to sleep.
