For Ponies, it is a liittle different, they knew not who built them, who maintained them, or if they even existed. But when they found the Obelisk of Circles that pointed them to a jungle deep in unexplored lands, they knew they had to find it. "For science!" they said, ignoring the warnings of a species of deadly, but silent beings that guarded it until a disaster struck them all but a mere handful down.
